Babydoll the Harley Panhead Needs Attention!

- Опубліковано 14 жов 2024
- Babydoll is my own personal Harley Davidson Panhead. I've had her for around 30 years. She's been waiting to go for a ride since I've been giving attention to other bikes. So, she's getting a quick inspection and wipedown. We're going for a Sunday ride in the mountains tomorrow. So these are the quick inspections I'll make today.
The amount of kicks required to start an old Harley is directly related to the number of people watching. Thanks for the video Mike, great as always. I can't wait to see you working on the shovel again, as I know I have alot of things to do to my '77 FXS lowrider as well.
Most of my Shovel is done. But I'm going to do some "different stuff."
God ain’t that the truth. Shovel always starts in one. Unless someone stops to watch me
Allan: Then I've never had more than 3 people watching 😂😁🤣
Watching your informative presentations I swear is like therapy. You have a calming why you speak .I get to kill 2 birds one stone I get to learn things about my favorite old Bikes I couldn't get all this knowledge in one place anywhere else. And feel like I completed anger management class I am so relaxed😋😴 Thanks keep up the good work!
Well thank you. And you made someone feel good today.
HOWdy Mike,
"BABY-DOLL" gets attention 🙂
She didn't even KNOW Teflon when she was BOURN !
COOP
...
Or any of the other wonderful lubricants or even metallurgy we have today. But Babydoll is clairvoyant and knew those things were comin".
Baby doll is lucky to have you keeping her a young lady . , enjoy the time and thank you for sharing her with us
Thank You. We're i love.
That's IN love.
Not many things in life appeal to my eyes more than an old Harley Davidson. I own several old motorcycles , but none of them are Harleys ... but, as a child , me and my brothers just loved riding on our Dad's Harley. I remember once he brought home a couple of wheels and several baskets of parts and watched over several months as he assembled it in our Utility room .. Mom did not like that at all, but she knew how much it meant to Dad. He bought it for 50 dollars back in 1965. It was a 194? 45 cubic inch WL? When he wheeled that bike out of the house door and cranked it up... that was the most beautiful biike I ever saw. After begging for a ride , he took us down the rode and back and that was a memory ... a very good one.
😊✌️
That's a beautiful story. Thank You.
An old print of Hopper's 'Nighthawks', low lit by sentry lamp,
a young Baby Doll could morph right in, a leaning, ticking vamp.
her stillness as she sits at rest, yet awake for refreshed hands
as the chill night air lends credence to, the silence of the Pans.
(A couple of shovels & a knuckle have declared this rhyme 'Headist' & complained to the great valve pocket in the sky)
This was England, but thanks to Storms Eunice & Franklin, everything is now somewhat further East than yesterday.
Sherwood never had a beach before . . . rather novel : )
Amazing. Your take on things is greater than "fascinating." Thank you so much. Take care.
❤️💯❗👍🙂
Good evening Beautiful machine
Thank You. I'll tell her you wrote in.
Thanks for the video Mike and Mike. You produce the best motorcycle videos on you tube.
👍🙂
Glad you like them!
I see my NY license plate still hangin ... thanks for sharing 🍸. Such valuable information ,
Thanks for watching! And, I love the plate.
👍🙂
WOW... Those manuals look pretty clean
I really try to keep them nice. They do get replaced occasionally.
Great pre-ride inspection video. ✌
Glad you liked it
Hey Mike. Babydoll is sure looking fine. You can never show this stuff to much.
Thank You. It's life. It's just what I do. Glad you like it.
Thanks for sharing ..
Hope ya had a blast on the road today ..👍😉👍
Thank You. And yes, we did.
Thanks for the video Mike! Love your Pan Head. Kenny
Thanks for watching! And, Babydoll is kinda "special."
Great idea on using heat gun on rear chain...Lube chain BEFORE it gets exposed to more road dirt from warming it up by riding...> I like using anti seize = especially steel fasteners into aluminum thread ..See a lot of folks using Lock-tite on steel bolts or screws into aluminum these days... Not sure but all I could come up with is MAYBE modern mfg.'d aluminum case threads MIGHT hold up to steel screws better...???... IDK but IMHO anti seize & check that their snug every so often is much easier than repairing damaged threads in aluminum....>Static battery reading of 13.04 V after sitting for a few months IS impressive.
Yes to all of it, except when putting proper hardware into any material. I like to do it with cleanliness. I want it to stay tight with nothing else. "Proper hardware for the job." Threadlocker in some instances, not all. Same with "antiseize."
Good evening Mike ! How are you ? Thank you for this video.
Good Evening. I am well and hope you are too. Thank you for watching.
I was panheading today !
timely post! nice to watch calm meditative maintenance. Its pleasant for me after discovering yesterday that a local shop screwed up a hydraulic cam adjuster update on my bike. I need a bit of meditation after that...
I get it.
Damn she is beautiful! I have an evo heritage. Next on the list is an FL shovel. Then one day hopefully a pan and knuckle
That's pretty much the way I did it, over a period of many years.
Pacific Mike,Enjoy your beautiful moments ! It’s a pleasure to be a subscriber 🙏🏻thanks again
Thank You.
What a pleasant way to spend some of Sunday afternoon.....very relaxing......i find simple maintenance therapeutic...both mentally and physically
Yep. Spending time with my bike is always good. Going for a ride today.
Mike, it is indeed a pleasure to watch you at work. Even tho I ride "12" FLHTK my heart is with the old stuff. I tried to watch Wheels Through Time. I don't get the same feel good... See you out on the road...
Wow, thanks
Keeping the ole iron running in tip-top shape by the hands of attention to details mechanic. Another great video Mike.
Thank You.
You are a Blessed man Mike.
Thank You. I do feel fortunate.
I laughed at your '48 to '59 manual. Yours is pristine and mine looked like the original bible! When I sold my '51 , I passed it on. Sure wish I had that manual and my Pan back. Great vid Mike.
Yes. I wish you did too. My 48-57 was replaced by my buddy Fred a couple of years ago.
Just wanted to drop in and say thanks for making these videos Mike n mike! I'm learning a lot.
That's great! Thank You.
👍🙂
As soon as I find that 4 finger clutch I told you about, I'm gonna take pictures of it and send it to you. Its packed away somewhere but its gonna blow your mind.
Cool.
It's good to know there's somebody out there who thinks like me
Frightening huh?
@@pacificmike9501 No not at all I enjoy building my bike that all I need is flush washer which should be in wednesday
Your panhead looks real nice the color really pops Mike👍
Thank You.
I think that squeak coming from the clutch peddle needed a little bit of lithium grease LOL. The government still lets you use Teflon in California? Have a safe and fun ride Sunday.
And he scores a 2 ! Let's see, 1 for the lithium and 1 for our seriously damaged state. We just got home. Thanx, it was great. Snow only above 5000ft.
I'm up here in Illinois just waiting for warmer weather cant wait !!! To get out and play with my 97 Evo Heritage I hate cold weather .
Wish I could help you. Feb is almost gone.
His videos helped me do my base gaskets on my 97 fatboy, the guys information is better than the manual .
Hello mike , always a pleasure to view your videos thanks for your time . I also noticed that sticker on air cleaner?
I had a couple made for my own bikes. That way, people find me at events. I enjoy meeting people that are interested. They teach me too.
Hello Mike great to see you again that’s what life is about riding and enjoying life thanks for sharing Gods blessings for your and camera man
Thank You. And the best to you and yours.
👍🙂
Always a pleasure dropping in on you guys no matter what your up to. Enjoy your ride tomorrow. Was 11 degrees here today.RMM
Thank You. I wish I could send you some warm weather.
Yes Mike, I love to ride. Getting out on the road on my Harley is great. I love watching you fix old Harley bikes. Thank you.
Thank You. It looks like you're in a great place to ride. Must be lots of bikes in Florida.
Thats one cool bike Mike.
Thank You.
Enjoy your ride, I'll be riding my 52 pan Sunday too😁
Yay! Have a great ride!
Please keep em coming Mike's ROCK!!!
Thank You. We'll keep going.

Simple and to the point. Beautiful bike Mike.
Thank You.
Thanks alot brother, it's getting better. I'll do better
In a perfect world, we all do better. You're doing great.
Thank you
You're welcome
Hey man..I have worked on Harley's for 35 years
I guess you have about the same knowledge as I
I could be wrong.
But the little things are the most important things
Ride on and as you say" SEE YA ON THE ROAD"
Thank You. Working on them day in and day out, we all develop the little things we do and believe in. I'm sure I could learn some from you. See you out on the road.
Thank you Mike, great video on things to check. Very much appreciate the time and effort.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank You.
Hello Mike Great Video
Always look forward to your shows
May I impart something i learned as an apprentice Millwright in Heavy Industry . Before pumping grease into a grease point , wipe off the nipple to prevent debris entering lube point .
I know that. This is what happens when your brain is thinking of what you need to show and how in a matter of a few minutes. But, make no mistake, I've benefitted so much from millwrights over the years, I can't tell you. Thanx.
@@pacificmike9501 yes it's a great Trade ,wrench,cut/weld/thread ,trouble shoot, reengineer stuff . Like you in the shop. If you don't have the part how do I get this bike fixed. We are a dying breed my friend.
Take care sir and be well
I sure do miss my ol'pan...great video, thanks Mike.
Thank You.
Thanks Mike, you inspire me to get out and do some spannering. Winter here in the uk of course so not much chance of riding at the moment, shouldn’t be too long though!,,
Great to hear!
I showed Russle your channel because he builds antiquers. He's a little paranoid though.
Okay. Hope he liked it.
Great to see Baby Doll being pampered in the manner for which she is accustomed. She always responds. Have a great ride, I wish I was there. My best to you CM Mike.
She asked about you. You really should show up. You know what's happening to the Shovel. Don't tell Sonia, but she got fitted for glasses today. Her Uncle Fred gave them to her.
👍😊👋
That would be Awesome to see you Again , Maybe this Summer. Until then Please Stay Safe and Strong 🙏🤞😊💯❗✌️
I do this every winter on my old softail I like every thang to stay put
You bet. And it helps to apply a little love all over.
Thank you for sharing. Enjoyed.👍👀
Thank You.
Great video Mike! Just one thing I,d like to mention and I don,t mean to step on any toes. After setting the points I always take a piece of clean paper and put it betwen the points;close them and pull the paper back and forth to clean any oil off the point sufaces. Enjoy your ride. It is -20 C here today with high winds. Be a few months before I ride!
You're right! And I didn't mention it, or even think about it. I know better. Thank You.
Mike as always, a fun video. You can't imagine the stuff I have gotten for using nickel based anticize on spark plugs all my old life. It's good to see someone that I respect do the same.
Thank You. You know, I just show what I do. It works for me and hope it helps someone a little. It's just the pleasure of a machine that's been "loved on."
Good video Mike! Good to see Baby Doll, reminded me to Check my Shovelhead out. Only motorcycle I have!
For many years, my Shovelhead was all I had. I don't mean only bike, I mean all I had. We had quite a life together, for quite a while.
Good video Mike, the only items I would add to the list for a bike that's been sitting are tire pressures and axle nuts. (Maybe you already did those off camera.). Enjoy the ride
Yah, they all get done. But when I'm working (not on camera), I think of all sorts of stuff. We all need to do that.
Nice Bike, Nice Job.
She's a lot of fun. Thank You.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, your ideas and experiences. I believe it helps promote the love and passion folks have for their bikes. I have learned a lot from watching and listening to your great motivational videos.
Wow. Thank You.
It's still cold here in ct but i need to get out to barn and service my twin cam and 68 triumph
I wish I could send you some warm weather.
Calming and informative.

Pan heads sounds awesome the old bikes sounds batter than new bikes
It's called "Hemispherical Chambers." Cool, huh?
Yes sir Mike
Awesome video brought back memories #KEEP THE RUBBER DOWN

Whew!!! Was Jonesing for a Mike fix. Perfect timing. Cleaned my deuce a lil and readying for a nice ride this weekend. This SoCal weather has been kicking my butt, so hopefully we’re getting back into daily riding weather again. Mike and Mike, keep up the great work!
Well, enjoy.

Mike, I have been using chain wax since the mid 70's when I was racing dirt bikes, (old days) I never knew about warming the chain when spraying the chain wax on.....Nice Pro Tip,..Thanks.
Thank You. Yes, it really works and doesn't throw it all over your bike.
I always check to see if you've posted anything new before I look at anything else, shame I'm all the way across the country, I'd love to have you help me with my basketcase shovel project
You'll get there. If I can help you, you've reached me. I'll continue as long as I have the time. I'm as close as your computer.
Pogo seat fan , anything as simple as what you went over is taken in . Thanks
Thank You.
Enjoyed the video mike.have fun riding in that beautiful California.
Thank You.
Nice tips Mike. I found that changing my O-rings on the intake manifold every spring; helps the ol girl start well.
Wow. Sounds like the fuel where you live is probably eating them.
You should try something called chain paste by motul. Comes in a tube with a brush attachment. I just switched to that from the chain wax with good results. less messy to put on.
Thank You. I'll check it out.
You said it turned over easy because the plugs were out but when you checked the battery the plugs were clearly still in lol
Yes, I though I had already removed them.
Always an inspiration watching your videos Mike and I definitely need to go for a ride tomorrow as well. Here in Pennsylvania it's not that warm yet but 40s is warm enough for me!....
Have fun!
Adjusted many points in my day but probably only a fraction of what you have done. Back in the day I remember noticing that a match stick cover flap measured .016" (16 thousandth). The same feeler gauge size as what some of the early VW Bugs required. The only thing I can add in reference to the points is to make sure the block that rides on the distributor cam is lubricated. If it is dry it will prematurely wear and then the point gap will decrease and the ignition timing will retard. This will not allow the ignition coil to charge up enough to give you the proper spark intensity. I can remember looking at a set of points and noticing red dust around the points and it was a result of the red phenolic block wearing down and leaving a red dust residue. The complaint from the customer was probably a lost of power. By the way Mike, you are one in a million. Very few people would do this after the bike sitting just a few months but not many have a love of motorcycles like you do!
That was my point. Just a quickie overview of a few things. If it doesn't seem real thorough, it's because it wasn't supposed to. Just a quick look see.
Mike idea. how to mount mid foot controls on a 1976 Shovelhead. The chopper i recently got only had forward type, and dew to a old injury from my past i like mids [ Babydoll sure is a beautiful bike ]
Thank You. Get a parts manual. You didn't say what model that 76 is. Is it FL or FX. FX mid controls are quite easy and will fit either model. Look in V-Twin (Tedd Cycle). I'm sure they have an online catalog and will have great pictures of the parts for an FX. Look in the "classic" section. I just looked and it's all there.
@@pacificmike9501 thanks again for getting back to me, ill figure it out, as i am not sure on it [ FX or FL ]
I appreciate all the knowledge you are sharing. Are you on any other platform? I’d like to pick your brain 🤣.
Not yet. But, Thank You.
A fine video. That bike will continue to be reliable and fun. All it takes is a little preventative maintenance. What was the name of that battery. ? Did you say " Gate " ?
It fits an electric gate mechanism. This one came from Home Depot (once I showed them where it was in their store).
@@pacificmike9501 lol.
If you would like more information about the battery we have a video in the playlist called "The Harley Knuckle Head Needs A Custom Battery" 👍😊
I miss not having a bike to tinker with. My car just does it's thing (yawn).
I get it. A car is quite a luxury. But a bike is a necessity.
@@pacificmike9501 Yes. A thousand times, yes.
LoL , I have that same book for my 52 El as well. Except mine looks like a stack of loose leaf paper. That thing's been opened and closed so many times the binding retired.
That's when you get a three hole punch, punch the pages and put it in a new three ring binder.
Hey Mike enjoy your ride lucky guy. There's a winter blizzard up here in Manitoba again.. At least it has warmed up to around 24⁰F.

@@pacificmike9501 haha the only thing that could be taken ouy for a ride would be a snowmobile. Visibility on the highways are reduced to 30 feet if that. Haha
I can fix a motorcycle, but I can't fix the weather.
Hello a great video and what a beautiful bike the paint job is fantastic as they are on all your bikes.
In regards to the battery did I hear you say gates battery my hearing is not the best know days but wow sitting for two months and still reading over 13 volts pretty incredible battery.
I just bought a new one from Napa for my 1995 Electra glide and the battery tops off at 12.97 volts
That's normal. This is a small battery that's fine on a kickstart only bike. It is a battery intended for a "power gate." I bought it at the hardware store.
If you would like more information about the battery we have a video in the playlist called "The Harley Knuckle Head Needs A Custom Battery" 👍🙂
Thanks for the content.
My pleasure!
I have a solo seat post on my '79. I took it apart the other day and one of the guide collars doesn't move. Should they all move? Just trying to tighten it up to get a better ride out of it. Thanks again, always helpful!
It should. I generally disassemble the whole thing to clean it (every several years). Go to your service manual and look up "seatpost." It will give you a few tips, including setting it for different weight riders.
Hi Mike thanks for another video, how do you feel about checking the timing after adjusting your points? Thanks Gordo
Not a bad idea. This was a "quickie once over."
You may have heard this, Mike, but on MASH they had a show where BJ was trying to get an old Harley running and was told that Jeeps had the same kind of points. Is that true?
I don't know. I don't think so. But in a pinch, I've modified automotive points to work. I've had some pretty wierd combos and I'm sure they weren't exactly right, but, down the road.
Hey Mike, Baby Doll most certainly is a DOLL! I know you said that you were not advertising batteries but I'd like to know more about the one you use and commented on. Looking to replace the battery in my bike for the spring thaw out here in the frigid Northeast! 13.4 after 3 months sitting without a tender is impressive. Would you share with me the brand? Promise I wouldn't hold it against you if I got a bad one. Thanks! LLH&R
I bought it from Home Depot. It is for operating a power gate by Mighty Mule.
@@pacificmike9501 WOW! Wasn't expecting that. LOL Thanks! 👍😁
Tell me if it's as successful for you. And, tell me if it isn't.
That is a sweet bike. What is happening with the flathead project bike?
Trying to get other things done first that are screaming for attention.
Mike, great go over for my 61. Did you just use alcohol and a brush to clean up the rear chain? Thanks again, I got that mouse trap working. Boy was your video helpful on that one. Be well
Thank You. The thing with alcohol is that it just does an easy clean up. Wipe it, let it dry, then lube it. Take Care.
👍🖖
Thank You.
60% chance of snow Sunday here , I will wait a while .
Wishing you a warm sunny day.
Thanks again Mike for how important it is to checking over the bike. I'm asking if you know where to find a tombstone tail light like the one on your pinhead, measurements are 4" tall by 2" wide?
Most of the aftermarket suppliers carry them. Drag Specialties "Old Book," Custom Chrome, Mid USA, Tedd Cycle (V-Twin) or Google "Early Harley Tombstone Tailight."
@@pacificmike9501 thanks buddy, keep the rubber side down ✌️
Hi Mike, I hope this finds you well. I am looking for a set of points for my 61 panhead. I looked through the service manual and wasn't able to find a reference is it something I should be able to get at my local Napa shop? Any suggestions? Thanks again for all of the great content you provide.
Try V-twin. That's Tedd Cycle in New York, or try J&P. These places have web sites.
Hi there Mike, Mike I am running the same windshield as Babydolls, but now it has quite a few scratches and dulling, do you have any tips on how to polish these out or repair them?
Thanks Mike
Chuck. Australia.
Depends on how deep they are. There are lots of products out there, but if the windshield is "coated," it may be time to replace it. The one on Babydoll is from Tedd Cycle (V-Twin) in New York. I usually replace them every few years, then start modifying 'til they fit the way I want them.
@@pacificmike9501 Thanks Mike. I’ll try a resto product first, and see how it scrubs up before renewing.👍
I get it. The one on my Pan is a "National."
Yeah mate,I’ve done a bit of research since talking to you, they say a 3 stage cut back kit works pretty good, I’ll get around to do this one of these days,I am running a Memphis Shades.
Thanks Mike
Hello Mike, I know you are not trying to sell anything, but could you tell me which battery you use for the Babydoll? I have converted my '64 Panhead to 12V, and I'm looking for the right battery to drop in. Thank you. I really enjoying your videos!
I've shown this before. To see previous videos, go to our UA-cam homepage and click on the word videos. All the little thumbnail pictures come up. It's easiest to view on a computer screen rather than a cell phone. But, the battery is for a gate opener, brand "Mighty Mule." Home Depot carries them.
Thank you very much!!@@pacificmike9501
In 1947 1500 miles was probably a lot.
Probably. The cross country highways came shortly thereafter. Then came Panheads. And they were and are great. Just require constant maintenance. Technology had to keep developing.
wooow mntapp hadir nyimk🙏
Thank You.
Hi Mike, I'm still having starting problems with my 1964 FL Panhead, I bought it in 2016 and had it shipped over to me, here in England.
I have owned and worked on BSA motorcycles since I was old enough to have a licence in 1970, I bought my first Harley in 1998, a new Evo.
My question is, and as I don't know that much about the bike, like what parts have been fitted to it over the years, can the circuit breaker/distributor timing slip?
It has a single points circuit breaker and has started well in the past, then all of a sudden it just wont start or run nicely.
A friend of mine who knows more about these old Harley's than me, got it running well, and then even with him, it suddenly wouldn't start or run nicely, until he moved the timing, one tooth, and then it run and started properly.
The same has happened to me again, with it starting good and then just suddenly wont start and run nicely.
Do you think I should get a new circuit breaker, I can get a V-Twin Manual Advance Ignition Distributors for 1947-1952 E & EL, 1947-1964 F & FL Models (781182) from my parts dealer, are these a good make, and would they fit my Panhead?
Please keep doing the videos, as I love watching all of them, and learning about your old Harley's.
Well, I can try. We might do this back and forth a few times. That's okay. It's only because I can't see it from here. A 64 FL came with a dual point circuit breaker. They are a bit complicated o tune and you'll need to follow the service manual to the letter, if that's the case. Usually, someone has changed them to an earlier single point system. If so tune according to the book but make sure you're timing off of the right mark on the flywheel (Front cylinder advance timing mark) and that your front piston is on the compression stroke. If you still have the original dual point system, it's very common to have one of the coils fail, or a condenser, or one of the sets of points. If you have a single point circuit breaker, is it manual or automatic advance? If it it manual, not so much to check out. If it is automatic advance, check out advance weights and springs. Lube them with antisieze. We need to do some careful identifications here. Look it over and write back. A 64 FL is quite a prize.
@@pacificmike9501 Thanks, Mike, for replying, as you say it’s been changed at some time to a manual single points circuit breaker. From what I have learnt, the twin points circuit breaker was a bad idea, so most owners changed it.
I got a lot of spares with the bike but the old type twin points circuit breaker wasn’t with it. And that’s my problem I don’t know if the circuit breaker that’s on the bike is a Harley one or an aftermarket quality make.
When I first got the bike, I changed it to a Samwel Supplies electronic ignition system as I have never liked points ignition, and it ran great. But even with the electronic system after a while it ran great one minute and then refused to start the next.
And that’s what I can’t understand, why does it keeps starting and running perfectly and then for no reason it all just won’t start easily or run properly.
It’s been timed numerous times, runs perfectly and then seems for no reason at all, to refuse to start and run nicely, that’s why I’m wondering if the timing can slip and if the distributor is of a bad aftermarket brand or just worn out.
So, as I said before, I thought it may be best to start from scratch and get a new circuit breaker, like a V-Twin manual advance ignition distributor, do you think that would be a good idea?
Thanks for your time, Mike, and I do love the bike and many of my biking friends love it too, I just want it to be a reliable and fun bike to ride.
That bike should be easy. Original Harley manual single point distributor? Get into it. Love it. Just make sure it's not shorting out. Make sure insulator is working. Make sure plugs and plug wires are good. Use appropriate plug wires for ignition system, good copper wires for points, resistance wires for electronic. Use resistance plugs and proper coil and plug wires for electronics. Use proper coil for points. If plugs are fouling, probably too rich. Lean it out. Use fresh clean plugs. If one plug is light and one dark, vacuum leak, usually at manifold. We'll stay at it for a bit. You'll win.
thanks mike. you mentioned tire pressure and i wanted to get your ideas on that. you can't really go by the shop manual since we don't ride with tires from that era. so how do we know what pressure to maintain for the tires? my 71 FLH has dunlop 401 and i keep at 36 psi
It varies from brand to brand, load weight, riding habits. I find that Dunlops, in general, require fairly high pressure. Consult with Dunlop. Read what they write about their tires. I try to keep my opinions to a minimum.
hi Mike love the videos can you provide the model of battery? Thank you
It's at your hardware store. It is for a Mighty Mule automatic gate opener.
thank you Mike hope to meet you some day greetings from San Diego!!!
Well, there is "Born Free." And there is the "Long Beach Swap Meet" every month. We probably can't help but run into each other. I'll look forward to it.
Mike, would the gate battery work for a 1999 electraglide standard?
Got a question, the oil filter canister on the pan is cool, they make one for my shovelhead, should I put one on?
I like oil filters. If you use one of those old style ones, you're kind of limited to the elements you can choose from. I had to use that one on Babydoll, because it's an old "original equipment" unit like she was ordered with back in the day. But, if you want one, by all means, put it on. The aftermarket ones work exactly the same.
Thank you Mike, I'm gonna try it and see how it looks, I can always switch it back, oh yeah! Baby Doll is way Cool!!!
Thank You.
Wait wait wait; no bailing wire, no coat hanger wire, no duct tape and no JB weld, anywhere on the bike?
Sorry, not necessary.
