- Ludwig & Ludwig of Chicago arguably produced the best sounding banjolele's ever made. This one's a later model circa 1929. Here I attempt my version of ukulelezaza's 'Twighlight Shuffle' in C tuning, as a comparison to the Ludwig in the video linked below and as a celebration of these superb vintage ukes, which all sound slightly different, although all have that distinct Ludwig tone which is unrivalled by any other uke. This model wasn't produced for very long and no one know's how many may still be around. Comment below if you have one, or know of one of these ukes.

fabulous job! I have an old banjolele (of uncertain provenance) that I love dearly. lately my fickle heart has found me playing my concert scale Gretsch resonator uke. strange how one’s tastes change over time.

you’re right. I think I’ve only made one video with it so far, but it was made as “supporter only” content.
I’ve got several planned videos in the proverbial pipeline and at least one of them will use the reso. it’s a bit daunting for me because I want it to be me on uke and vocals, doing a duet with me on harmonica. this will involve a change of clothing , two different lighting setups, and 4 different audio and video tracks to deal with.. I struggle with my reach exceeding my grasp.

I have a Ludwig with pyrolin head stock with red chevrons,bought it a few weeks ago...I also am lucky to have Crown,and of course Wendell Hall..wonderful instruments...Regards Anthony Coles
