    I never look to buy strawberries unless it's for a recipe, but sometimes they call to me. As I walk by, the aroma calls me, and I can't resist! I find Driscoll's is the best brand. A couple of tips: the smaller ones are sweeter. And if you don't plan on eating them all right away, don't wash them. Just put them in a Mason jar dry in the fridge. They last so long. I've had some in a jar for almost 3 weeks, and they're still perfect!

    I can’t believe 79 cents for the avocados! What a great price.
    I bought strawberries last week, they were soooo juicy and delicious. Can’t wait to hear your and Tim’s thoughts too!
    Have a great day!

    The walking tamales are really good. Whole foods has them. Walmart has them too. Actually they're cheaper at Walmart. You don't have to warm them up either. Of course they're better warmed up. Sometimes I just throw one in my purse just for backup in case I get hungry when I'm out running around on the weekends. Keep up the good work!!!

      Ooooooh thanks for tip. My local Aldi is about a 30 min drive, and my motto is if the grocery store is more than a 20 min drive, it's not worth it. But I have a Whole Foods 5 min away and a Walmart about 12 min away, so I'll have to look for that and try it out.

    I love Walking Tamales. I get them at Whole Foods. It’s just a tamale with beans. They are nice.

    Try cheaters almond milk. Use 2 tab almond butter, 2 cups of water, optional pinch of salt, 1 to 2 tab maple or honey, and 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract. Blend on high 30 seconds.

    You make an excellent point w the small steps. Girl I’ve been vegetarian/vegan 30 years & still don’t make my own almond milk 😸 If you’d like a suggestion on one that is only almonds, water & salt w no gums or fillers…Malk is delicious. You find it at the bougie stores like WF or Sprouts 😻

    The brioche rolls seem to be available year-round in northern Virginia-I like to use the dinner roll size to make slider buns-so good

    I’ve haven’t tried the walking tamales, but I really like some of the seasoned beans that Filo’s make. Interested to see if you and Tim like them.

    I had the walking tamales in my cart and put them back wasn’t sure - I love tamales with thick masa - these seem to be straight masa so thinking they’ll be good. Excited for your review !

    Do you shop the local farmers market in your neighborhood? One of things I miss about living in L.A. was visiting the farmers market stands on Saturdays/Sundays for fresh veggies & fruits.

    I like the brioche buns, but the hot dog ones are horrible because for some reason they are cut down the middle of the top of the buns.

    If you're interested in making your own plant milk, look into Milky Plant. It's worth the investment. It's very easy to use and clean, and it's fast. I make lots of different nut milks and it even comes with it own little milk bottles. I like to combine cashews with oats for a little creamer version.

    What good does taste testing fruit when unless the person goes to your Aldi it won’t be the same especially on the other side of the country

    • @KatieHespe
      @KatieHespe  21 день тому +9

      Well for those that are in Southern California, and there are many viewers that are, they can hear how they taste. Just skip over that part in the taste test of that doesn’t interest you. 😊

      @@KatieHespe I live in Arizona and a very impressed with the blueberries I got from Aldi- the ones at Trader Joes are more expensive and sometimes mealy. On another note, the Aldi pizzas are so frustrating because they are always a one off with the pizzas with pesto and then you never see them. Most of the ones they have on a regular basis have bioengineered ingredients, including the ones in the refrigerated section.

    • @KatieHespe
      @KatieHespe  21 день тому +2

      Thanks for the feedback from Arizona about the blueberries! As for the pizzas, I love them but I am not eating them currently. I had no idea they had bioengineered foods in them!
