The problem with more concrete is more surface run off, so the adjacent pasture will get wetter, I’d get a drain and some gravel around it sooner rather than later… Pre planning drainage systems is the key to keeping a yard clean
First episode I watched was the feed bin delivery and the farm hasn't stop growing since, very impressive and all with cow welfare as the driving force!
Love your pops! He is always so happy, always smiling, and so excited about life and farming! You are so lucky to have such a positive influence in your life, and someone who genuinely wants to share all of his knowledge of his craft with you ❤ Brilliant job on all the farm improvements you’ve accomplished this season, it’s awesome to see someone my age (well you and Jo I think are younger I’m late 30’s) so excited about making the world just that much better by doing their bit!! I wish the US had incentives and grants for farmers over here, such a difference it could make to invest in the next generation of farmers. If you can, would love to see an update on Miss Tilley!! I think she might just be my favorite in your herd, maybe a future farm mascot?? She may need to be retire as a farm pet after she’s done working ☺️ Keep up the good work Tom, Ginger, and Jo - love the videos - I’m not a farmer (work in corporate pharma), but watch your’s and Jo’s videos every week, I think the draw for me is to stop for a few minutes, and appreciate the little things, like the sun shinning growing some grass, or as Jo say giving yourself some loves. 😊
A skid steer would work. Decent used one with a door. Perfect for pushing up feed in cab change over to yard scraper. And perfect on bucket brushes aswell. Also cleaning out muck in sheds. Just a perfect machine for around the yard for muti jobs
@@hughcarrigan7824 I did see that. I used ti use one on a dairy 30 years ago. That was wheeled. I now run 5 tracked skidsteers on highway work used to have wheeled on that also. Would never have wheels again, wheeled skid steers aren't even in the same league as tracked skidsteers
Always enjoy a bit of concrete work. That new road way is going to be a game changer for you Tom. 👍 Serious re-growth on the paddocks you chopped for big bales, absolutely incredible.
My good man and I were raised on dairy farms here in the States and married nearly 52 years ago. We homestead now and there is nothing we enjoy more on UA-cam than watching your videos. We are so impressed with your skills, your ability to tackle just about anything, your relationship with your Dad, and the fact that you are letting society know what the background is of the things they purchase at the grocery store. There is a lot of work that goes into farm life. Thank you for taking the time to record.
Tom you and your dad and Joe are all doing so much to help make the cows comfortable and your making the place good for you all so a lot better to get work done easier so much that people are gonna be asking you all for your autographs! Because all of the accomplishments that you all are getting done!👍😁
For the people that have a problem catching most that Tom says turn on your CC close caption it helps. But at times it even has a problem and you can have a great laugh to what it comes up with totally off the wall.

It's starting to look amazing with the concert driveway plus it will be easier for the lorrys to get unloaded with equipment and stuff great video keep them coming 👍
Tom...from Ontario, Canada...I enjoy your videos, your excitement and enthusiasm...you love what you do and it shows...Thank you, don't change a thing.

Love watching you and your dad farming and improving your farm hard work but very rewarding for you I’ve learned so much about farming lol didn’t know how much you need to do every time I have milk now I think of what it takes to make it thanks for all your videos
You will have to factor in power cable replacement to the grid putting solar in if the cables cannot handle the extra load. It's a cost that isn't really discussed until near the end of planning.
A truck for putting on the grab tom is to curl out the loader the full way and you should be able to see the bar and hooks line up. Thought it might be a help great video

You guys have more mud then most of my tour in Viet Nam. Moon son season was maybe 3 to 4 months but at least the rest of the year we did not have much mud. Good luck with the latest project.
Hi Tom, you may remember sometime ago when you were on about what to do with your Tyre's , I mentioned about the farm by me that has a wall of tyres protecting the slurry tank wall from getting hit. Just thought I would mention it again before you go buying aggregate to go between your new concrete and the tank. 🤔
Paul is so funny loved the face he made he is a character! Are you getting concrete on the medan so you can finish iit also?? Looking so wonderful it will be a blessing to have it all concreted in.
You could put rock next to the slurry tank. It’s a lot cheaper than concrete and you wouldn’t have that drop off. I think it would look good and it would prevent a piece of equipment from dropping off the edge or someone from springing an ankle.
If you wanted to zero graze for only a couple of grand you should buy a single or double chop harvester and a sialge trailer and you could leave the 885 on it at the side of the field and draw in with the other 885 or the hurleman a decent load would take under 30 minutes and it would feed all your cows keep up the good work
I do so enjoy these videos! Have you ever watched 10th Generation Dairyman? He is from Pennsylvania, USA I enjoy watching him as well. AND the Hoof GP of course!
Hi Tom love your videos mate, came down from Yorkshire to see some family and had to visit your shop on the way, cracking shop lovely spot you have, all the best
Absolutely amazing the difference! KUDOS to you, your Dad, and the hard workers who made it happen. Please let Dad know I don't know what Tik Tok is either. As a gardener here, how about a low growing grass or clover around the tank. Something hearty that does not need tending but keeps the area neat. Not being in the UK don't know what your options would be. Clover is good for bees and a sturdy plant but watch out it may be invasive to areas you do not want.
Great work team, just try and leave it as long as possible before driving on it, seen them fail prematurely while concrete is green, especially with amount of moisture around in surface layer with all this rain,
I know they are expensive but I would recommend a medium sized skid steer for around the yard, much handier than the scraper tractor and being that but newer they are decently reliable if looked after
looks amazing , the zero grazing idea is so good we use to do some in the late autumn, you must be able to find a old new Holland double chop cheaper somewhere for the amount you would use it, there is not much to one of them, just a thought Tom
