The worst mistake you can ever do in Master Duel: giving your opponent a turn
Nah not really
@@vo1ce147 if that wasn't the case then we wouldn't be slapping Maxx C and Ash in every deck
@@justamoogle5268 what you do when something broken in the game ? Ofc you play it, like there are a lot of decks that allow people to play back and forth like tear , vs, silent voice, salamangreat, sword soul, tri , dids ( dogmatika invoke destiny hero, shadoll) , dib (dogmatika invoke bystial ) , runick spright, runick bystial, naturia runick, spright live twin, unchain, fk-snake eyes, ECT like all of this deck play fair , and to be frankly is allow both player play, most of them fine into Maxx c, even their board is not that crazy impressive with multiple negate but they play through interaction pretty well.
@@justamoogle5268 the things is Maxx C is too good to pass on, even with that piece of sheet in the meta alot of decks that play fair into it while also don't give any sheet into it, and allow to play back and forth game, just because their deck play a little too fair for most TCG standard.
Well subaru's deck lack of hand traps anyway
Subaru: "But if I go overboard now, I might have some trouble next turn..."
This guy: "There is no next turn!"
See, if the guy as playing Pendulums this would have worked even better.
Yeah, she could've set Secrets of Dark Magic to ritual summon Illusion of Chaos who can negate Nachster, Core, or Chimera (likely Nachster though since it'd get Fortress'd immediately) and revives Dark Magician to trigger Dark Magical Circle, or use Soul Servant to stack and draw Eternal Soul to trigger Dark Magical Circle and banish Cyber End. Or both.
“Overboard”
She made two vanillas and passed turn while having a fusion spell in hand, she wasn’t going overboard anyways lol
@@theonethathungers5552 Well, she didn't _want_ to go overboard, which is why she just ended on DM and Rod instead of using Soul Servant to search more or set Secrets. I dunno why she didn't think to set up at least one way to trigger Circle, but oh well, it looks like she had fun anyway.
*insert Raging Dragon OST
"What can you do with Cyber Dragon?"
Famous last words 😔
Subaru : What can you do with Cyber Dragon?
Me : I'll give you a 0 ATK monster that can't be destroyed, in attack position, for free, but I'll fusion summon Chimeratech Overdragon with 10 materials.
everything
nah she asked the wrong question. The real question is "What can ONE Cyber Dragon do?"
@@primecoconut4204 My answer is simple : CHIMERATECH OVERDRAGON!
Whenever i face an opponent whose deck doesn't really have any mean to "counter" mine, i'd just leave on my field 2 cyber dragon infinities, a cyber barrier equipped with 2 gravity blasters & 2 solemn wishes, then end turns after activating the blasters & monster stealings without attacking
Ah, yes. Most normal master duel experience
The average experience
Annoyingly so this is always the experience.
Nah it's still good, not numeron level
@@ravengenesis8510Honestly. And Numeron isn't even good enough to be rogue.

1:09 Subaru: “We shouldn’t panic just yet!”
Narrator: “She should have already been panicking."
Lol 😂😂
More like...
Shuba: I might get in trouble next turn if I go overboard now
Me: ... big mistake...
Is she familiar with the meta of current day yugioh? Playing 3 cards and passing without any hand traps is handing your opponent a free win. Also cyberdragon otk's you, it was clear she lost that turn the monent the first cyberdragon hit the field.
Same,i start panicking when i face Cyber Dragon and Clockwork resolve
Yeah the moment I saw that Cyber Dragon deck I was like, "I'm starting to feel the OTK coming..." It's an instinct you gain after a solid two decades of dueling lol.
Subaru:"Just Calm Down! OK?"
Her Opponent:"I only respect victory! Begone, Loser! GO! CYBER END DRAGON!!!ETERNAL EVOLUTION BURST!!!!!!!!"

It’s like Subaru vs Hell Kaiser😅
I respect you for using the Japanese attack name.
Bruh, I can even hear Kaiser on that

Ew you're one of them weebs 💀@@esteban8471
"What can you do with Cyber Dragon?"
OTK. That's literally the whole point of the deck
She learned it the hard way
It's the point of most decks. Because Yugioh is a broken mess of a game. OTK decks became the meta a long time ago, and rather than fix the issues that led to decks being able to OTK, they just based game around those kinds of decks.
@@Xynth22 thats what happens if you goo full power creep. Never go full power creep.
@@NETIERRAS🤓Cyber Dragon was OTK since its debut. Also one of the reasons why Cyberstein got banned back then,
Unless the Cydra Player goes Infinity line, in which a bit less OTK, but can still fall back to OTK if they got the resources.
The disrespect, by using all the monster to finish her 😂
well we need to make sure our opponent doesnt had Gorz The emissary of darkness ;)
so its kinda been reflex for us to attack with lowest first
Gorz did a number on the community
@@ahgrimnlami4945I thought Gorz only work when the field is cleared ? isnt there a spell card on subaru's field ? I quit YGO along time ago, whats that spell card ?
@ljunljun6354 it's a continuous spell named Dark Magic Circle. Once it's activated the first time, the player can look at the top 3 cards for a spell or trap that lists the "Dark Magician" or the Dark Magician himself and add it to the player's hand. The rest can be arranged back to the top of the deck in any order.
The second skill allows the player to target and banish a card on the opponent's field if a Dark magician is normal or special summoned to the player's field
Being OTK'd by a Cyber Dragon deck is an honor.
Being OTK'd by Numeron, however, is humiliating.
true
How about being OTK'd by Cubic, Infernity, Magnet Warriors or Gandora deck?
@@aetherherrscherofnasigoren1417to be honest I do want being otk by gandora deck
Idk at least numeron doesn't take forever… also remember full power runick?
@@deadloz121cockatoos7
Brother, Runick is Mid-Ranged Deck focused on The Control side of the game.
Like every deck Control (Sky Striker for exemple) are slow because they don't have any capacity to Otk due to their strategic orientation.
The chat when the Emergency is shown is "ah,..." "this is end..." "otsukaresama" "one (turn) kill..."
There’s two decks I know of that can run Cyber Emergency and neither would’ve let her get away with a no-interruption board lol
Being able to watch subaru play master duel live is making me consider learning Japanese, unironically.
Watching Japanese Master Duel streams is how I was keeping my study of the language up even while doing stuff I liked lol. Genuinely helpful.
As a Dark Magician player ... her first mistake was playing Dark Magician.
Not really her 1st mistake was not having a way to special summon DM during their opponents turn for the free banish.
Nope, I cleaned the floor in the legend event so well I accidentally cut the top half and the floor to be gone, I was like 30 to 2 in wins to loses
She should've fusion summoned to at least try and draw a card
Real... Playing dark magician is pure suffering, I say this as a dark magician player
The second I saw that Cyber Emergency I knew it was all over
Oh it was an emergency alright
It was either Drytrons or Cyber Dragons and she would be dead anyways xd
The ultimate senpai
With that board maybe yes,but Clockwork is the danger alarm imo
Letting Clockwork resolve when you facing Cyber Dragon is a big mistake

Ah, the classic cyber dragon experience
My favorite part about Cyber Dragon is This Was Always The Plan. In Zane's first duel, his gameplan is a simplified version of this exactly. Negates? Floodgates? I mean I guess they're there, but the core gameplan of the deck has always been fusion summoning idiots with thirty bajillion attack and swinging for the fences
that is classic?
what about blue eyes white dragon then?

Yeah Master Duel doesn’t give a damn about new players. Either you need to be good immediately or curb stomped into the ground. Because unlike LOTD it never bothered to teach new players

I knew the moment that I saw Dark Magicians this was not gonna end well.
On pekora's side : swordsoul structure deck goes brrrrrrrr
Honestly swordsoul is probably the best deck for learning Yu-Gi-Oh rn. It really holds ur hand through synchro summoning out powerful boss monsters, and most of the upgrades to the deck are pretty cheap, like the Tenyi engine
Swordsoul, in my opinion, was one of the most fair combo decks in Yugioh but powerful nonetheless (and I respect that as a control-type player.)
Its stuff ended in 4-6 continuations and did not take forever.
@@amiablereaper It would have been nice if they gave away a free meta deck for each summoning method so that newbies could learn better
She really played swoso? Damn must've been quite the bullying that she pulled out swoso instead of playing with Blue Eyes lol.
They giving Swordsoul for free is nuts, probably best 3 Structure Deck
Subaru: I summon this card. End turn.
Are you sure about that?
Famous Yu-Gi-Oh word indeed.
Well, she didn't set any disruption lol
Yeah even the best pure DM board just sets up one very fragile interaction.
@@FrostReave her hand was really good tho she could have set up a boardwipe, draw 1, eternal soul and a link 3
But yeah most dm decks are just towers turbo.
The problem is that if shes playing eternal soul cybernetic overflow just blows her entire board up anyway lol
Did she even have BLS Link-3? But i agree with that hand at least she can make Dark Magician Fusion + Cirlcle + Eternal Soul
@@ferdyoktavWhy not dark burning magic for an interaction
Souls send DM revive DM, Rod add Bond, Bond for DMG and Dark Burning, Soul Servant for Salvation and draw 1. Link off all 3 for a link monster.
It was really funny when she described her first experience in Master Duel and showed doodles of "hard to beat cards" (Kashtira and Tearlaments).

Subaru: what can you do with Cyber Dragon?
Narrator: little did she realize that there’s a whole archetype that has YCS’s…
The opponent is playing a single player game
I love that she started telling herself to calm down after seeing Cyber Dragons. She absolutely knows what's gonna happen
Thats one way to make new players off the game so very fast.
The fucked up thing is, this isn't even mildly degenerate by the standards of modern Yugioh.
The only thing Cyber Dragon does is create monsters with insanely high ATK and swing for the nuts for an OTK. Which is impressive by the standards of early 2000s Yugioh, but nowadays nearly every meta deck can OTK if you let them play uninterrupted, but they also come with a lot of removal/disruption to assist them.
In comparison, Cyber Dragons are downright quaint in their simplicity.
Man...i missed the time i'm wrecking newbies asses for fun with my Floowandereeze when it still good (2 Empen,2 Map,Extravagance and Duality still 3,Teraforming not ban yet) because i'm bored on high rank, the deck is very cheap yet insane
Cyber dragon is considered to be a rogue deck at best.
Because they intentionally made a bad board and got punished for it? She could have made more plays and actually did more on her turn but didn't. It's like playing a fighting game and getting punished for doing unsafe shit and being mad someone exploited your mistakes.
Skill issue
Cyber dragon my beloved
Subaru: Wait! Don't I get a turn!?
Opponent: You clearly don't know the meta.
No negation, no disruption, and no strong board presence. It was all over the instant she clicked 'end turn".

Ah yes, the Solitaire experience of trading card games these days.
This isn't just the Master Duel experience, this is just the Yugioh experience in general. And yes, even "back in your day", people were catapult turtling FTKs.
Catapult Turtle... god I feel old now
Yata lock is THE GOAT
2000 early to me, playing Forbidden Memories with my older brother and him Summoning exodia out of nowhere was my beginning of Humiliation :P, in 2020 on Quarantine, took my revenge by Summoning Exodia aswell :P
You can't convince me modern Yu-Gi-Oh isn't a mistake
Tbf the game has been like this as a whole since pretty much the beginning. Like the YATA lock, FTK's or Tele-DAD existed. Not to mention that Reasoning Gate (a combo deck) existed back then aswell.
Heck Cydra OTK decks existed since the GX era. Like that shit isn't new, it's old af.
The only thing which is different is the consistency, the overall gameplay is the same.
2:34 attacking from lowest to highest to play around Gorz lol
do DM even play Gorz nowadays?
0:06 One of my favorite Subaru noises
Thank you for the Master Duel clip! 🥹 What a rarity from Hololive! 😊 If you could do more from Subaru or Pekora's stream, that would be amazing! 🙏
It's the rule and tradition of yugioh. ALWAYS attack with your lowest attack monster first. This is because of a very well known hand-trap called "Gorz, the emissary of darkness".
When you take battle damage while you control no other cards, you can special summon it from your hand and special summon a token with equal attack and defence as the damage you took.
This means if you attack with your hardest hitting monster and your opponent activated Gorz, you give them a free summon, a +1 in card advantage from the token, and a way out of your highest hitting monster for the next turn along with stopping your other monsters from finishing them off...
gorz changed how we attacked first, he is rent free in our head. like i need to make conscious decision to remember no one play gorz anymore.
Summons rod and Dark magician. “Let’s not go overboard”
Opponent: Hell Kaiser mode activated
Cute watching her play against old OTK decks. Especially given how cracked the meta is now by comparison.
My favorite part about Yugioh Master Duel, by the time you finish reading what the first card your opponent plays does, you're probably already dead.
If you are bad yeah. At least in most formats.
You really gotta learn to just read key text. Most cards text are just what they can't do and how often the can't do it. You're basically checking if it searches another card, summons a card, disrupts you in some way, etc. Not to mention the history bar tells you the exact effect being activated so it's easier to know what they're doing atm.
Subaru's first mistake was playing Yu-Gi-Oh master duel.
I missed the part where that's her problem.
Her first master duel experience (not first duel because she manage to climb into gold without crazy one) is literally her getting destroyed by tearlament and kashtira (during the deck's peak as well)
I love that subarus first thought is to fish out the ash blossom. Shes truely a ygo player
WELCOME TO YU-GI-OH BB. WHERE YOU EITHER HAVE FUN IN ONE TURN OR YOU DIE THE NEXT
this is why yugioh does not have new player😅
Nah, you get to play against OTK decks and, in this case, it's pretty obvious that Cyber Dragon wants to end it quick (just read Power Bond). What makes new players go away is people setting up 5 interruptions turn 1.
@@dudono1744nah i tried this game and got OTK twice and i quit cuz i felt no welcome there. So ur explanation is wrong and @DDforever 's statement related with a person like me 😭😭 i mean how i suppose to know any trap i got when im still new and HAVE to counter OTK AS A NEW PLAYER.
@@ralqu0254 You didn't ever go second to see what a 1st turn looks like ? But yeah the tutorial is ass.
