One thing you didn't mention is that Artificer can reach the void sea, but since she can't earn karma she can't transcend. The ending slide show is her swimming through the void and running into her 2 ascended children, hugging them one last time before becoming an echo.

I don't think it's becoming an echo. I think that, because she doesn't have enough karma to transcend with the help of the Worms, she instead is somehow burning herself up in order to push a little farther - probably using the same biological ability she uses to detonate midair for the double jump. This allows her to push through the boundary without the help of the Worms, even at her limited karma, but she's only able to see her children for a moment. Then, she burns out. Like a comet with nothing left.

I still think that Gourmand's ending is a counter point to the whole philosophy of the ancients of wanting to break the cycle, that being "If you can find joy in living you will not want to die in the first place, meaning that escaping the cycle is not a problem in the first place.". That and also Saint's ending to me seams like it's Saint "cleaning up" the mess the ancients left, Gourmand's counter point is to me the real answer to the question the ancients sought after all this time, Saint's ending is them finally finishing what the ancients started, at least the part we see of it. I do think Saint does also become a weird time traveling death god too, but at that point we lose track of them much like we lose track of Gourmand and his gang(if Survivor and Monk follow them, which in my person HC they do.) I can imagine a little Slugcat civilization slowly coming up around where that tree is, and maybe Saint becomes a time travel god to make sure they don't do the same mistake the ancients did, or at least uses that power for that

@@anto2593 I'm not sure, it does seem like there are possibly an infinite number of worms in the background so I doubt that killing it would make a difference. I feel like those worms could be the deities surrounding karma but I prefer to think that the worm you attacked (or maybe all of them) are punishing you for daring to meddle with trying to ascend such a creature (I find it hard to explain my meaning, but the Saint itself actually appears to have no idea about the true nature of the cycle, karma and the significance of the worms, as usually in the campaigns the slugcat knows about as much as the player knows for their first time playing). The Saint had seemingly become overconfident and believed that they were above all other creatures as it had control over their cycle, and so tried ascending a void worm. For this, it was stripped of it's karma and was condemned to go back to the world as an echo.

And as saint see them using fur coats from the furry lizards, or even start putting lanterns on sticks as a easier torch and carrying them around. @Disorder2312 Рік тому +32

No. His downside is massive. If you just miss a spear, which let's be real, can happen quite often even if you have skill, then he's gonna become tired and won't be able to escape the predator. He needs to stay in place in order to recover, but he can't when he's getting chased. Only this downside just killed me so many times when i played as him.
Artificer is for sure the most OP though. I just killed so many things as him, vultures, king vultures? Now completely easy. How about a 100 scavengers? Sure enough.
Gourmand's spear can deal a lot of damage, but any explosive spear which Artificer can make as much as he wants as long as he kills things with it and eats them, can just kill most things in the game instantly, and he doesn't have such downside of movement.
What about Gourmand being able to craft most items in the game, i experimented a lot with it, and it isn't really that useful, at least for combat.
Oh, and i also forgot to say that Artificer's ability to jump in the air is so OP as well, you only need to not be stupid to use it correctly, and it can stun enemies as well, which helped to kill a lot of scavengers for me.

saint is a purposed creature that is biologically forced to not do anything which would prevent it from acceding- inability to fight, inability to eat anything aside from, pupa, and the long tongue that couldn't be a feature of slugcats in the proposed its time of creation by slither of straw. SS likely purposed a bunch of creatures to be similar to Saint and when saint returned from ascension SS let out the signal, only for Saint to use the power it had gained on them. It would be then that Saint would make it its goal to ascend the other Iterators with 5P and LTM being the last each time it reincarnates.
The boss fight is probably something Saint relives and like Artificer's nightmares is exaggerated with each reoccurrence. But thats just my speculation.

I think you have something there. Regardless of whether or not challenge 70 is canon, I agree that Saint maybe have been created by SS as a being incapable of losing karma. We already know that Iterators can create/modify slugcats after all. I think Saint prematurely ascended SS and then went on a journey to ascend every other being it came across. Though we don't exactly know what karma means in Rain World, we can speculate based on some of the tapestries we see in the game. One of the karmic symbols is believed to mean renouncing worldly attachments, things like relationships, items, etc (which is similar to concepts in Buddhism). This could explain why Saint inadvertently ascends SS before she can communicate what her solution was.
Games like Rain World are ripe with speculation and we'll never know the full truth, but I'm comfortable with this explanation.

One of the echos in the main survivor campaign says that they wished they could have appreciated the moments they had. They wonder why the ancients were so fixated on finding a way out, when in reality life was something you could only get once, and the infinite cycle another gift that they wished cast aside out of entitlement and arrogance (like a child who feels that the new PS5 just isn't enough). Even though the main character's goal was to ascend (or die), the entire message of the game is to appreciate the life we are given, and live it to the fullest -- especially since we in our world only get one.

Well, to craft a singularity bomb, you need one karma flower, two batnip, and four rocks. One rock for each batnip to turn it into a cherry bomb, another for each cherry bomb to turn them into two grenades, and combine the karma flower with another grenade to make a fire egg, and then that with the last remaining grenade to make a singularity bomb. Quite useful against red lizards

Rubicon is also the name of the famous river that Julius Cesar and his leagons crossed to reach Rome and overthrow the roman consules. That along with a scavenger corpse, I ventured into the depths, thought it'd never work since nothing happened in the room with the giant (X) max karma symbol but when I passed the guardians, they didn't retaliate. After that I threw away the corpse and jumped into the sea.

i really liked each campaign so much that i cant even pick my favorite one.
spear master was good in terms of explaining other iterators, how they feel and other stuff like that, and i loved the fact that you just HAVE to commit war crimes in order not to starve. and yes, i wasnt stupid enough to leave the pearl and i really liked the ending screen for spearmaster when he finally returned to SRS.
i also really enjoyed artificer, in mostly terms of gameplay. artificer is just genocide 24/7 and i did enjoy trying to find the easiest way to defeat the scavenger king. also, thanks to arti campaign i finally learned to fight scavengers normally instead of just giving them pearls anytime i see them so they dont kill me.
gourmand is really fun. so far i did not finish him.. but i already enjoy the game as him so far. the crafting mechanic is fun and the way that gourmand is very slow but mobile at the same time is really cool to me. also, just look at him how can you not give him all your mortal possesions.
rivulet was fun. i love having sugar instead of blood and sitting on cocaine like if it was air. seeing moon being fixed was really rewarding for me. i dont know why. i just really like moon for some reason. i did not enjoy the rot region by the way it sucked 0/10 dont recommend
saint was.. uh, well i really like the story.. but i hated being eaten by every single thing there is because i couldnt even shove my spear up someones ass to defend myself. the silent construct had me filled with hatred for 3 hours straight. due to how some areas looked like fp way too much i was kind of confused and didnt know how to go.. had to ask people for help in discord. the ending for saint was.. weird. i still dont understand a single thing but seeing saint turn into echo had an odd feeling with it. the music made it feel like its the end, like.. literally, the end. and as someone who unlocked challenge 70 with cheats, fuck sliver of straw.

Also I like how it seems like over time slugcats as a species seem to become more pure and spiritual as earlier slugcats in the timeline are violent (spearmaster, artificer, hunter), the middle one are balanced (gourmand, survivor,) and later ones are enlightened (monk, rivulet saint, it's cool that saint is after monk because monks goal is to became a saint if you know what I mean).
