I'm from the so-called third world country. The organized/professional beggar was something common in my city when I was a kid. It was around late 90s to early 2000s. My father and some adults often told me not to give any money to beggars bcs of this. Some were even pretending to be wounded or have their leg chopped off (by actually just hiding it inside the pants) or paint fake scars. I heard some people saying they've seen the beggars being dropped by a fancy car to the area very early in the morning and then picked up at night. Even heard some of them had big houses (yeah not just one). Another trick is by carrying along a baby. The baby is actually not the beggar's own kid. That beggar is a baby sitter or some sort.
Criminals are worth FAR MORE in the the prison pipeline than their illicit earnings take out of taxable income. One of the GREATEST SCAMS never discussed widely.
Due to corruption. I wonder how a Laissez-faire market would solve this. Prison is expensive but if you let a danger person free and this person hurts someone then you have been careless and will get sued.
😅😅Meanwhile in Kenya a miracle happened when thirteen beggars who were crippled started running with their two feet when the police car stopped near them.
I once got a meal (burgers, fries, milkshakes) for a family of three standing on the side of the road with a sign that read "lost everything". There had just been some really bad flooding in the area so I assumed they had lost their home and belongings. Once I brought them the food I asked about their story. Long story short, their sign was a complete lie and they were just begging on the side of the road because it was more lucrative than their day jobs. 😂 I was glad I only gave them food and not actual cash.
Yup here in Cali there are a lot of opportunities for homeless people to be fed and clothed and housed, but most (not all) are addicts who don’t care about anything except where their next high is coming from
I have a bad history with giving money to baggers. The last time I did, was when a gypsy woman pinned a flower on me while I was walking trough central London and asked me for a donation for the kids hospital. I obviously knew it wasn't for the hospital, but I was in a good mood and I liked the gesture with the little flower, so I was willing to give her 1 pound. But then she started demanding I would give her at least 50 pounds and was trying to just grab it from my wallet and block me from continuing my path until I was literally about to punch her in her face.
I had finished my job earlie in the morning. It was a call center. And people drank energy drinks like crazy and just threw it in the trash. A environment hippie i am. I collected them in 2 or 3 big black garbage bags. Took a cigg outside. Gypsy beggers came by. Ask for the bags. I was like ok, cool. Then they asked for money on top of that. Those bags. Was worth like 35 eur. Baffling, how the treated me like some kind of idiot. I should have taken those bags back. Didnt think of that in the moment
The professional beggers make a lot of sense. Since the height of the pandemic, I noticed these beggers almost literally at the end of every highway exit and main cross streets before an highway entrance. Some of them got chuckles out of me because it was so apparent they were scammers. One guy had brand new Michael Jordans on his feet and was clean shaven with good winter coats. I must have counted at least 30 of these guys.
Aside from some of the more extreme claims, every legit study I've found on "professional begging" has a daily average at around $25-80 per day rather than $800. One problem is that the money can be wildly inconsistent. You are more likely to be handed a granola bar and some socks than a $50 bill. Most of the money is made during high traffic hours such as morning and evening rush hours, and there's not really an opportunity for overtime so most estimates put them at $10-15 per hour on average for a part-time job. The numbers get a lot better if you transition from begging to street performing, though. Strum a guitar or start juggling and you can usually expect to do about 2-3 times better, but again, there are pretty massive constraints on available work hours.
The city that I live in has a huge homelessnss issue as well, I would've never imagined that there might be "professional beggars" amongst them... Thank you for your informative video as always :)
I got scammed at LAX airport from a guy claiming to be stuck at the airport and hungry. I shoot him 20$ and he proceeds to walk up to the very next 2 people after me and ask them for money as well. Never again.
As for the professional beggars I find that one interesting, it's why I can't give money away to an individual like that. if I know them and they need food I'll buy them groceries. Or I'm just going to give to local shelters. etc.
Right on. I met a beggar a while ago, wheelchair bound, seemed to be living rough. He asked me for money for food, and it was right outside the local supermarket. I asked him what he wanted I would run in and buy it for him as I had money I was willing to share, but not cash. I got a polite "no thanks" and he wheeled away. I always wondered if it was booze he wanted, and the stupid thing is, if it was booze he wanted just ask me I'd buy him booze AND food. Just be honest. But of course with seasoned homeless alcoholics they don't want food because it limits the efficacy of the booze. Unfortunately even if they are legitimate beggars it's very hard to help these people because they are rarely honest about their intentions. It's going to be drugs or alcohol that they want but food sounds more acceptable to beg for... I feel sorry for the people who are struggling out there and really could use a kind heart to buy them groceries or some clothes and would happily take it. Because I bet a lot of people are turned off helping by having negative or hopeless experiences or being wearing of professional beggars like yourself. Mind you it sounds like you have a good heart, stay awesome ❤️

Hahaha, about the "substance" bit, let me tell you, here in UK many of the dealers are 20/30 year olds and some are even 40+. There are also younger ones sure. But it is very common for a taxi or uber driver to be doing this on the side, in order to get some extra dough. Very common.

Seems like only the Swiss really got it figured out.

Weed before legalization could be profitable if you were the person growing it. The costs of growing weed can be pretty low and it sold for thousands a pound. It's a much more profitable crop than corn for instance. The problem is the risk of getting caught of course. By the time you do a few years in jail making $0/year even a profitable drug career is going to look like a minimum wage job or significantly worse. Then even after jail rehab, parole, probation, fines, drug testing etc. count as cost and labor against your much earlier profits. With a regular job you can collect unemployment when out of work and with drugs your out of work years are spent in jail borrowing money from family members for $10/minute phone calls to the outside. The trade attracts low IQ and impulsive folks that are bad at seeing the forest through the trees.

I have known about the begging thing for a while. Last week I met a guy twice, which is going around infront of the biggest shopping center in town. He stopped me in my tracks while I was going to lunch, telling me how he and his girlfriend are having a hard time and asked for some cash for food. A trick my parents taught me is to ask them if they are fine with me buying them some actual food. Actually most of the beggers dont use the money to help themselves, but just buy alcohol and cigarettes. There is one more disturbing thing, that you did not mention. There are begger's organisations which force homeless people into begging with a daily quota that they have to give them or they will get beaten up. This is why I refrain to give any money to beggers. Its way better to donate to an organisation that directly helps them (although it should be researched well, because scams happen there as well).
i used to be a entry level "Substance Dealer" if you wanna make money you need a huge work ethic and your basicly goig to put in late shifts every day. The work life balance depends one the substance your Trading and on the level you are on the suply chain. I luckly got caught up and put in to the prison Pipeline. Its a shitty job for the most part but u get a lot of freedomme (until you dont) and the feeling of Power. There are people who make a good living out of it, but the chance of getting to that point is very slim. Its more likely that youre going to get hooked on drugs ore go to jail. In my opinnion this carrer choice greatly reduces your life quality and your not going to live long if you make it to high positions.
Selling sex for money in many places isn't even illegal... only buying it is. I think this is one of the ways authorities clamp down on the practice. Don't go after the provider, because they'll continue to out more buyers. If so, IMO that's a smart idea.
@@danielhale1 It would be smarter to just let two consenting adults have sex with each other and not arrest either of them because you want to assume one is a victim.
But, law enforcement doesn't care as long as you are wealthy in that profession. Not hard to go on Twitter and find sex workers to contact. Not like the other illegal jobs where you'll be arrested on the spot if there's suspicion of your job.
@@plainguy3567 That's how it works on an illegal market. Prostitutes require protection from potentially violent customers but if they can't pool together and create a legal brothel with a security service they need illegaly operating pimps for protection. Those pimps can then force them to continue working because they know they can't call the cops and might even trade them with other pimps, i. E. Human trafficking. A legal market is just so much safer for prostitutes since illegality certainly hasn't made it disappear.
11:30 this is extremely sad. You have over 1 billion people living in slums and 736 million people living in extreme poverty, yet these people are out here pretending to be poor just a to earn more money out of greed, when they have the opportunity to work to earn money.
It would be interesting to take another step in this direction and explore some of the profitable probably criminal acts that are in the public eye. Things similar to Trump scandals and other famous people that simply refuse to pay dues or follow through on promises because they're rich/famous and leverage that power to avoid having to pay
Ah yes Trump, the guy who lost a billion dollars during his presidency, he was totally in it for the money. You're an absolute idiot if you believe he was trying to make money out of his position in office, I like him but not everything he does. Though he certainly wasn't corrupt. He was simultaneously the most honest & dishonest president. The guy legit admitted to being in the middle east just for the oil on national TV, then he would also lie about anything which would hurt his ego. It was kinda funny, though at least he pulled the US out of many wars & oversaw multiple major peace deals in the middle east. Overall he did a pretty good job, look at how Biden has destroyed the economy, his son was laundering money for his through Ukraine, he is a pretty bad person in general.
@@levelup1279 Meanwhile HunterXBurisma and Hillary pay (to her foundation) to play in foreign policy decisions while Secretary of State. SJWs always project.
Just asking for a friend also about whats best? Professional burglary, trading stolen goods, protection money, pimping, robbery, or probably the best two selling medication whiteout licenses or research chemicals as this are pretty weakly punished or even not crimes in lot of countries.
Something you should know about professional beggars - they are also organized thus they get a small percentage of the money they get. Else they get "punished" by competition that has the resources.
I once had a weed dealer who worked as a banker, so I actually have no doubt that there are some criminals out there who watch finance channels in their spare time lol.
Substance traders definitely make a decent amount and live comfortably if they're smart about it. Most also use it to invest into legit things. Deal drugs kids it's worth 😂
Never done it myself. I've had multiple mates who earn £1000s from selling substances. This is the UK though where is typically there's less gang control of drugs
u can easily make a lot of money selling substances usually 100% profit margins or more. buy 1 oz of grass for 160 (standard price) sell each 1/8 oz for 40 (standard price) u make 2x what u put in not hard to find a bulk seller just ask freind that smokes who they buy there grass from and buy from them. also buying delta 8 carts (legal in all 50 states) from smoke shop and selling them to kids that are not old enough is good money make 15 to 20 per sale. this is good money if u do it right but there is risk to selling to strangers.
One quick note on the drug selling wages. That paper was originally published around the year 2000. Back in 2000, the federal minimum wage was $5.15/hr and the minimum tipped wage was like $2. Starting at $2.50 while being told you have a chance at $32.30 starts to sound a lot more rational imho when taking all environmental factors into account (e.g., community, job seeker's age, proximity to "successful" dealers, peer pressure, probability of career advancement at a place like McDonald's). Obvi there are still lots of risks and reasons to avoid this lifestyle. I'd be very interested in updated data on what drug dealers make.
Well technically not illegal I use to make a good amount in buying and reselling electronic devices as I can do a basic refurbish of most commonly used electronic devices and those that I wasn't familiar with Google and UA-cam search could basically solve it. Now this doesn't sound bad right, but basically I would hang around various gaming rooms really gambling rooms and you can get people who want to sell their tablets, phones, laptops or other devices for $20 to $60 from me and after I did a reformat of the devices and minor cleaning or minor repairs sell it for $700 to $1000
Can, but rarely works, websites often dont work with foreign bank accounts or credit cards even more difficult if it is with a different currency. Also be aware that your consumer rights might be drasticly different.
It's kinda dumb when you think about it, but when you do the math, as a college weed dealer you're probably making less than minimum wage unless you're at the distribution level.
I “know” -cough- a guy. He made very good money. But one too many ppl got caught up , stupid stuff. So he stopped. But ya trust me crime, especially if you have great skills that transfer in to business, definitely pays. Marketing, sales, customer service, being a people person. Having a great location
Yeah crime normally pays otherwise why do crime? But for real being able to control almost everything around ones self would be better but otherwise crime pays 100%.
Why sending money to a foreign destination makes understanding its origin more difficult. For example my Canadian bank does not know where or how I got the money to deposit but if it is small amounts (under 10K CND) and I use the account for personal and have few deposits and withdrawals each year they will never ask either.
Don't forget the really criminal kind of begging - charity embezzlement. Fake charities can generate hefty income, and instead of looking like a homeless bum, you actually need to be presentable and respectable. As with any kind of financial crime, really.
I know that this is a joke but it’s really not being a career politician is extremely hard. You are at a constant risk of unemployment under heavy boss scrutiny and have to compete with other people who probably have more carisma experience and just deal better with the customers all for a job that requires higher education and extreme business skills but that pays significantly less then engineering law or management. It’s basically like retail turned to eleven. Of course corruption can make you very rich very fast but if you want to safely pull it up you need to operate either in a developing country which is less then safe or in a small area which is less lucrative
@@luisandrade2254 They don't need to have higher education. They just need to have a support base and street smarts to get their political ambitions sponsored. They are really just pawns for the bigger and greater political party ambitions. The DNC and GOP are two of the largest American mafia gangs in the country. The politicians are their solders on the ground. In my current state we had a major who was once a street gang member, a state representative who can't read or write English (she has other people do that for her), and a career extortionist. That's what I know from my relatively short 20 years living here (CT). Being a politicians really doesn't require higher education, just charisma.

Its way better to donate to an organisation that directly helps them (although it should be researched well, because scams happen there as well).
remember when HOW MONEY WORKS used to say " i will never advertise for VPN" , smh
Drug dealers don’t get arrested for dealing drugs, they get arrested for dealing outside of their designated areas!
i used to be a entry level "Substance Dealer" if you wanna make money you need a huge work ethic and your basicly goig to put in late shifts every day.
I think you forgot to mention the oldest profession that's still illegal in the USA or the many adjacent jobs associated with it.
Selling sex for money in many places isn't even illegal... only buying it is. I think this is one of the ways authorities clamp down on the practice. Don't go after the provider, because they'll continue to out more buyers. If so, IMO that's a smart idea.
Lack of stock footage might be a problem... gives the video a rating that would block it for some viewers.
When I'm done watching this, I'm gonna go see what you put up for April 1st, because I can't believe it beat this out.
It would be interesting to take another step in this direction and explore some of the profitable probably criminal acts that are in the public eye. Things similar to Trump scandals and other famous people that simply refuse to pay dues or follow through on promises because they're rich/famous and leverage that power to avoid having to pay
You are addressing the problem of politicians...worldwide
Pay dues? You mean taxes? Otherwise known as "theft"? There is nothing honorable or moral about paying taxes.
@@levelup1279 lol, he was corrupt AF. Seriously, "mean tweets" is completely meaningless BS compared to his incompetence and corruption.
I love that you ranked lobbying as bellow fraud and drug dealing in ethical terms.
I once had a weed dealer who worked as a banker, so I actually have no doubt that there are some criminals out there who watch finance channels in their spare time lol.
holy crap I also live in Sanfrancisco! Nice channel dude!
Drug dealers are nothing like how they are portrayed. The vast majority are users who deal on the side to support their habits.
u can easily make a lot of money selling substances usually 100% profit margins or more. buy 1 oz of grass for 160 (standard price) sell each 1/8 oz for 40 (standard price) u make 2x what u put in not hard to find a bulk seller just ask freind that smokes who they buy there grass from and buy from them. also buying delta 8 carts (legal in all 50 states) from smoke shop and selling them to kids that are not old enough is good money make 15 to 20 per sale. this is good money if u do it right but there is risk to selling to strangers.
Oh man that ending is pure gold
That fact that youtube recomended this to me when i was thinking about it all day 😵
I felt like you were mad while making this video. I understand
So many aggressive panhandlers where I am...they don't get arrested except on rare occasions
A VPN sponsoring a video on crime is crazy
Great channel, man. You should be proud of yourself.
Did I miss the section on insider trading? Or was it in the intro but not in the body?
The profitability of some of these 'career' paths is well explained in the book Freakonomics, from Levitt and Dubner. Highly recommend it!
Very funny how he puts investment bankers and consultants in a different category 🤣
lol loved this video 🤣 i've always wondered if you have a choice why go the criminal route instead of a easy paying job
I've always wondered why phone scammers push gift cards so hard, now I know :)
Him: I know y’all are good law abiding citizens
Me rn: 👁👄👁
Finally important information
Well technically not illegal I use to make a good amount in buying and reselling electronic devices as I can do a basic refurbish of most commonly used electronic devices and those that I wasn't familiar with Google and UA-cam search could basically solve it. Now this doesn't sound bad right, but basically I would hang around various gaming rooms really gambling rooms and you can get people who want to sell their tablets, phones, laptops or other devices for $20 to $60 from me and after I did a reformat of the devices and minor cleaning or minor repairs sell it for $700 to $1000
6:03 Anyone knows what that device on the left is? Either what it's called or the specific model even. Thanks!
Very interesting opening summary 😂, 2:29 - 2:56 #IRS 😂
*That’s* the image you went with for an XBox?
I never got notified about this video
2:08 wait can you actually use VPNs to get cheaper tickets for travel and stuff!?
Can, but rarely works, websites often dont work with foreign bank accounts or credit cards even more difficult if it is with a different currency.
Also be aware that your consumer rights might be drasticly different.
It's kinda dumb when you think about it, but when you do the math, as a college weed dealer you're probably making less than minimum wage unless you're at the distribution level.
Which category does selling VPN Scams in YT videos fall into?
Finally the content I've been waiting for
at 8:53
well thats not true with that phishing email scam that happen with Opensea and NFTs stolen
Did I miss the part about insider trading?
I “know” -cough- a guy. He made very good money. But one too many ppl got caught up , stupid stuff. So he stopped. But ya trust me crime, especially if you have great skills that transfer in to business, definitely pays. Marketing, sales, customer service, being a people person. Having a great location
Yeah crime normally pays otherwise why do crime? But for real being able to control almost everything around ones self would be better but otherwise crime pays 100%.
Ironic it's a VPN sponsor for a video that talks about scams
Economists. True neutral.
Most min wage dealers are unemployable in the corporate world.
How much the oldest profession makes?
2:36 I wonder if politicians report all of their illegal kickbacks to the IRS ;)
You had the easiest promotion for a VPN in this video, and you just let it pass.
Right when I thought I'm out of luck...very much appreciate this video. I got work to do>>
making a darkweb market then exit scamming is pretty profitable, but you need to get top sellers on the market
Just a second, let me go check my books
Don't forget to include the internet info gurus.
Lolz why am I watching this? 😅
Great work!
Even the Joker does not mess with the IRS. Pay the IRS and everyone else pretty much falls in line.
Lmao 'substance traders', ' substnace enthusiasts'
Thanks for this video!
Me in-between jobs not sure what I’m going to do
UA-cam: “hey have you considered…”
@ 8:00 "the real challenge here is legitimizing this money..." video shows mexican pesos... that hurt badly...
Why sending money to a foreign destination makes understanding its origin more difficult. For example my Canadian bank does not know where or how I got the money to deposit but if it is small amounts (under 10K CND) and I use the account for personal and have few deposits and withdrawals each year they will never ask either.
Wow... I lived here previously 0:39
Online Scammers are everywhere its so bad ...
I appreciate all the advice
Don't forget the really criminal kind of begging - charity embezzlement. Fake charities can generate hefty income, and instead of looking like a homeless bum, you actually need to be presentable and respectable.
As with any kind of financial crime, really.
Just bc some thing is illegal don’t mean that its wrong and vice versa
12:10 mango has fallen off after smash
Being career politician is another great option
Hey hey hey, lets not compare honest upstanding drug dealers with the scum of the earth here.
Best option!
Then you can commit fraud against other countries. And do insider trading whenever you want publicly. Not illegal if you say it's not illegal.
