    Man I'm still mad I traded mine years ago. I found it on the goodwill online store for $50 in almost perfect condition. Only retro SP had that proper pitch.

      Just get an sp404mk2. Better than all of them combined.

    First sampler I owned. Still have it. When I got (Christmas 98) I had no clue what midi was and barely could use it. I spent my last on a 4mb memory card for more time….was around 120-150 at the time.
    25 years later I’m running 70% of my samples through it.
    The delay is beauty in itself

    cool knob upgrade! you should check out it's groove box counter part, the DR202.. it's the best sounding classic Roland remake sounds

    I regret selling this gem and bought SP-505. I was frustrated with the lack of sample memory, but I immediately missed it after selling because I liked the lofi sound that I could have resembled on drums and vocals and other sounds. And SP-505 was very ‘digital’ sounding comparatively.

    I like the 202, but i find sometimes it take some of the punch away from my drums ( that probably was already processed ) when i sample into it

      I usually layer the SP sample with a cleaner version of that sample so I can have the punch and the texture.

    So true! @spvidz is there a way to truncate the samples to save more space or many do a video on techniques to save space on the 202 ,303.

    I've been wanting to pickup either a 202 or 303 just for the sake of having the trilogy but also the pitch which would you recommend also I forget but doesn't the 202 and 303 use floppy ?

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  5 місяців тому +1

      Neither use floppy. The 202 uses a rare smart media card (you don't need one to use it, I've never had one) and the 303 uses a type of smart media card that is a lot cheaper to get hold of
