Agreed with a lot of points in this. Especially about the emphasis on always having to talk to people. I personally am very grateful for my retail experience because if I had wanted to be an independent artist when I was younger it would have terrified me to have to deal with the customer service end because yup it's still there, but because of retail it's actually really helped me in that department where I don't even worry about that side anymore. This is also one pro to having a non art day job, it may not be your end game BUT you can learn a lot of valuable skills that you can direct to your business. Anyway, excellent video! 🔥🔥
"you dont get any followers, you need to go to event and be social"..... Oh crap, how am I suppose to do that when I got ASD and social drains too much energy.
Happy to say I have some stability now where I can pursue art on the side then probably a business sometime in the future. Agree on a lot of points here!
Currently planning my first convention. I’ve seen a little bit of growth on my social media, but I would like to get out there and work on branding myself in person as well. Thank you, Mew 🙂🖤
Thank you so much for this video!! I really wish I saw this 5 years ago before I spent all these years going through trial and error! I'm now... realizing that audience is the first thing (I know it sounds obvious... but it really didn't register in my head). I really thought, if you build your art shop and launch it... somehow the universe would bring me customers lol >

This was very eye opening for me as someone who’s been told that I should have a job and do art on the side. Thank you for your honesty!

I hear that. Just do as much as you can and try to find communities that you feel more comfortable in.
Also try not to mask when it's not necessary. Being yours is hard but ultimately worth it.
the bob really suits you 🥰
Your honesty about the struggle is most appreciated because you are soooo right about the trials and the successes.

Thanks on sharing these tips with us Mew. These sound really helpful.
Can you make a review on the company that is best to work for a animator? Like for example... Disney, cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and more
