    Instructions: www.instructabl...
    With video intro of decapitating Marie Antoinette.
    I made a 9 ft tall Guillotine for Halloween 2014!!
    Please read the description here, if you make this I'm not responsible for any injuries that may occur.
    IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ!!!!
    If you make this guillotine be aware that is potentially VERY DANGEROUS and it could cause SEVERE INJURIES or even DEATH, yes, even with the MDF ''blade''.
    I put some stops just in case but I NEVER drop the blade when someone places his/her neck inside.
    I will use it to take photos on Halloween!
    Special Thanks to:
    My wife Barbara (Marie Antoinette) for appearing in this video, making her amazing costume and mine, too; for being simply the best and very supportive of my projects and videos!
    I love you to the end of the world!
    Big Thanks to:
    My Mexican family (making thumbs down for death sentence)
    About the Guillotine:
    I decided to make a guillotine for this Halloween 2014.
    I didn't have any plans I just looked up some pics and basic dimensions.
    I used pine, oak, Mexican pepper wood, MDF, cherry wood stain, silver and black spray, cotton cord and some hardware to make this guillotine!
    Total cost is approx. $60 and it takes about 2-3 days to build, and it's easy, too!
    The BLADE was made by spraying first two coats of silver and then covering the sharpened part of the blade with masking tape and spraying the rest with just a bit of black paint. It gives it very realistic look even from close up - I love it when people knock on it!

      even with that positive stop there's no way I would volunteer to put my head in that thing. wicked (good wicked).

      Dogwood Tales haha
      I never drop the blade when someone is inside with head there. But I suppose they jammed few times, it's almost foolproof, If you read more in history's first events, you can notice that they could use it only once or twice before a repair was needed. (the weight of the dropping blade).

Alot of people have gone without a job or income for months, struggling to make ends meet. People are going homeless and without food. Our government is giving us $600 for a stimulus package and have called and are acting as if it is generous. So people have been saying it cost about $600 to build one of these guillotines or it's enough to buy a gun lol. I haven't had any idea about this.
      I'm from Croatia.
      $600 is ok if it is added to your existent but reduced earnings, but if you haven't got any job then it is a joke. Here the pandemic hit us hard as well. My brother and I started a private business with woodworking in January and then this happened. Now we have to close the business because we don't make enough to pay the country its taxes and other bureaucraPs. It is sad times but I hope we (all people affected) will get through it.

    Fun fact too: After the beheading they would normally hold your head up and show it to your body as the brain is still active for a quick 20 seconds

    • @AndreaArzensek

      Thank you Tamas! It collapses (folds) in about 3 minutes and its quite light (but sturdy), considering the size. I'm going to store it easily.
      Take care,

    Nice project. I'm considering building 1 of these for self use, JIC SHTF (Terminal illness diagnosis, Govt. roundups and arrests of white males (Laugh, give it a few years, you'll see.) Incoming Asteroids or ICBMs, ebola outbreak, trapped in a house fire, wife files for divorce.) This would be the least painful method of self termination. Hopefully I won't need it well into my late 80's to early 90's.

    • @AndreaArzensek
      @AndreaArzensek  9 років тому

      Peter Smite No, not really. I think it was about 50-60 USD in materials.
      The only thing it was to think how to build it because I didn't have any plans, just internet photos, so you can see that mine is unique with the guide wheel over the top.

    who puts a padlock on the lunette? T he French didn't it would have taken too long...the guillotine blade is free falling, not attached by rope as I thought, have you used tallow on the guides

    • @AndreaArzensek
      @AndreaArzensek  10 місяців тому

      Padlock is there so the kids don't behead themselves - among other safety measures. The blade could never go pass the lunette.

    Great build and video, fantastic introduction! My only criticism (hopefully constructive) is that it's not really a "how to build" video like you titled, and more of a "watch me build" video. In order to replicate or learn to do it, there are several steps that got skipped over. I'm sure with a bit of ingenuity, one would figure it out, but I'm just sayin'.

      Andrea Arzensek That's awesome, Andrea! I appreciate *your* time reading and responding to my comment! The videos you make are really good, I enjoy watching them, both the ones I figure I'll reproduce and the ones I know I won't, simply because your videos are entertaining and so well done. It's refreshing in the "build video" community.
