Any thoughts towards starting a new community in Taos or lowering the land prices at Greater World? I want to build and live there but it would take me years of "walking through the desert" aka working my current factory job, to be able to save enough to buy a small plot and afford to move and build and donate my time to Earthship Biotecture and the community.
@@earthship I'm aware of the different models, including huts, which is what I would start with. I was actually referring to the current price per lot in the community, which is outrageous.
@@deadoralive26 Lot prices appear to be on par, and maybe a bit lower, than comparables around Taos. The Earthship community is only 13 miles from Taos, so land prices are going to be higher than in less popular places, just due to proximity to a very popular place to live. You don't have to live in the Earthship Community to build an earthship. Edit to add: my opinions are based on the current asking price of 49.9K for a 1.5 acre lot, which has a nice view as it is elevated on a hill.
Just added a 1200 watt wind generator ( Ista Breeze) to our earthship after having a Whisper 200 for 20 years plus. Had it shipped from Turkey in a week. Carbon blades and less than 1/4 the cost of the Whisper and higher quality and output.
I love that he mentions hanging clothes in the greenhouse! I live in a Global Model and do just that, it works great. Seeing this is making me consider reworking the front face and roof now though.
I do love all your work. I'd say Astro turf is definitely not a great way to handle plastic recycling due to creating micro partials from a higher surface area and leaving it out in the sun will create bad off gassing I think. Best thing to do with used plastic is compress it as much as possible to reduce surface area and keep little bits out if the environment where it breaks down into partials. The more of dense block you get the stuff in the less trouble and pollution to put it out the way somewhere. Maybe use for construction also if its sealed over like the tires.
Why do we live in a world where the likes of people like Michael Reynolds are on the fringes of society and not at the forefront? I WILL build an earthship
Can't wait to see more of your work in Zuni! I've been saving up my own tires and blue bottles for a few years now. I tried pounding out tires on my own. It was trying to drive screws through the treads that held me back. I don't have a lot of solar power here off grid. I think I need air tool strength for this.
I like the slanted glass way more than the vertical. Michael, how do I hire a crew to pound tires? My father is disabled and I'm only 5'1" and weigh 115lbs, which means the sledgehammer is gonna be heavier than me, ahahaha
I'm always waiting for a new upload from you guys! I wish I could make a house like this... Maybe I can make my kids appreciate these types of houses and hopefully they can build and live in one of these! Thank you, for all your hard work!
Not having any utilities, would be amazing, no gas, nothing, I love hanging my Laundry, next challenge for Michal and his crew how to charge an electric car 🤔🚗🔌🤓
When I visited in June the lady at the visitors center and one of the residents said that people do whatever they want w their earthship, and said they have Tesla power walls and charge their cars! Omg that's perfect info!
“Formula 1 Earthship Technology” 😂 put that on a Tee shirt! “The Performance of taking care of people…Forever” I Love it and I’m going to build a village here in Texas❤
Please take over the world Mike wer’re out here in Stupidville TX, development as such is just getting more and more ghastly and obnoxious. Thank u for being a global hero and for all the joy that comes expressed through this great work.

Could you add a biodigestor for methane production or modify your Earthship septic tank to gas cooking?
Is there a video where he explains the geothermal system in more depth? It looks pretty simple compared to the mainstream method of geothermal.

well done! You have jogged the minds of the greatest of thinkers and left a legacy...Well done!

Thanks for all you have shared through the years! Hope your days are Blessed! Keep on Trucking
Awesome! Thank you, Michael, for developing and refining (and re-defining) what housing should be.
Perfect design for that climate!
Brilliant Design Michael 👀, love you man 👍

Love the RIVERB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video from what I could hear, and it looks beautiful! It is time to invest in a lapel microphone, though, because the audio is really bad.

get them involved and do a homestead grow let them see you do it with them...
BioVeda involves children in some of his workshops! It's so encouraging to see young people learning earthship skills :)

YAAAASSSSSS...I too am the proud owner of an electric car, and was musing about the same thing!

I love that. The building is a machine. Fantastic.
Russia likes you. Your houses are wonderful! Sorry, my English is not very good...😢 want to suggest you Russian movie Intent (2019) by Donfilm... 🤝🤝🤝
Continuing getting better. Much luv.

awesome keep up the videos. i really like the water management. i would love a in depth video on the water management from roof to septic
Wow, that's great! Hoping to stay there someday & own an earthship home.
How long will a tire wall last in an Earthship? Tires break down over time
I ve been obsessed with this kind of things for 10 years now
Is there a video where he explains the geothermal system in more depth?
These earthships are built by amateur construction workers who learn there skills from amateur construction workers. Poor execution
Have you ever stayed in an Earthship or helped build one?
This guy needed 50 years to understand that vertical glass are better... What a fraud.
And, who exactly are you?
❤ this model!
No more videos???😏
Ok. Sir ...
what a gigachad
