This version of Fear Factory is so badass!! I love Dino, but......Raymond Herrera, Christian Olde Wolbers, Burton Bell and BYRON STROUD!! Byron is the shiznit bassist!!
@@Poepopdestoep Fuck yeah, that's why it sounds super raw and nasty on that record. And those sig Jackson COWs are super light and have a tight mid-range'y sound, IMO. Sucks balls they pulled the albums with Christian on guitar, they're honestly my favorite FF records after Demanufacture :'(
Yeah, on the album as well! It has the best guitar-tune of all their albums! That's why I like it almost as much as Demanufacture. It's produced just perfect! No matter if Dino has a "better" feeling for creating complex rythms. Christian reached the same level of epicness on his way!
@@revivedfears lol, I was like "Katashuggapeth Pant Factory"??? I thought hard about it, it must've been the Reprehensible Meshuggah's previous name. Big ups to Katatonia and old Opeth.
Burton at 90% years after he blew his voice out. I don't know what's going on here but he's an absolute monster. That voice is hiding somewhere inside of him.
You can say whatever you want, but u can't deny that this era, the energy and stage presence lacks after Burt and Dino reformed the band. Chris and Raymond were basic elements in Fear Factory sound and image.
Absoloutely true! Dino is such a fucker to call that album unpassionate. Dino is a great riff/rythm-monster and I love his style, but he's not so much more. Christian seems to be more creative espicaially for break and counter-parts and plays that very fast and clean. And Ray is just the best drummer ever. He always found the perfect rythm and how to raise a song and that on god-level, and with crazy energy. Sure, some drummers are more insane and faster, yeah, but Ray has just "the feeling".
Agreed. For me Fear Factory goes up and down. Digimortal wasn’t that great, but they redeemed themselves with Archtype. Christian took the FF style and added to it. Transgression had some ok songs, but in general was a drop in quality. Mechanize was better than Trangression and seemed like Dino used the time off from Fear Factory to come up with some interesting stuff. The industrialist is probably their worst in my opinion. Not only the robot drums, but the songs seem uninspired. Genexus is ok, but in general a lot of it sounds like they were trying too hard to make a Fear Factory album instead of making something new. The drums seem very stiff even though they’re very impressive. Hopefully Monolith isn’t just the same as usual.
I saw them live after Mechanize came out, when Dino had rejoined and Gene Hoglan was on drums. That was after all this and that was an absolute epic show. Archetype is up there as one of my fav FF albums so it can go either way.
Seabell from 1999 or even here in 05' isnt the seabell today. He cant sing anymore. Period. Seen them live ~8 times, vocals got worse every time to the point that it was just disappointing.
@Walter B Burton sounded great (actually great) on the Demanufacture anniversary tour just a couple of years ago. Was a surprise at that time. But yeh, idk about right now. Still, it's possible that if they didn't run into a conflict again, he would've kept the bar high
Man you can tell here Burton gave it his all. This live performance is one of the best. His singing on Archetype and Transgression albums are incredible . 🤘🏻🤘🏻
went to a lot of metal concerts in the mid 2000s, met many band members after the show. After Gwar, Burton C. Bell was the coolest and chillest dude I ever got to hang with. Was and will always be my favorite metal vocalist.
Can't believe it's been 17 years since Gigantour MEGADETHS Festival. Never will I Forget DTE Energy/Pine Knob Clarkston Michigan that Day.. FEAR FACTORY..Love Y'all
This was Burton C. Bell in his TRUE prime. He never sounded better than he did right here. Pretty sad to hear him sing now, his voice is completely shot. Was watching Fear Factory perform Pisschrist at the Bloodstock Festival last year and I wanted to cry because of how gone his voice is. He can't scream or sing anymore. He just doesn't have it in him.
His voice is no doubt fucked but the bloodstock performance from 2016 is a particularly bad show. He literally looses his voice early in the set and has to continue anyway. It must have been pretty brutal for him to be fair.
I was at Bloodstock going ape shit to FF. yeah his vocals were shot, but tbh that didn't take anything away from the performance for me. It's kind of accepted now that he struggles (sometimes more then others) and I totally empathise with him. Least he hasn't called it a day and disbanded FF, as for their latest "Genexus" that album is fuckin crushin, real gem of an album.
👍 under-fukin-rated metal, Ozzfest 99 Mt. View, FF played and Chi Cheng showed up to play bass and pay respexts.respects. You had to be there...RIP Chi. Honestly Chino was on stage too .
Seen them on this tour in Kentucky with my old boss. Them and Megadeth kicked ass. Too bad most of the venue didn't. Dead ass crowd I was like one of the only people who knew their words and were jumping around when they were playing
I think it's more a case of Burt never actually taking any singing lessons. If he'd done so in the early nineties, he wouldn't be having this much trouble.
Sometimes I wish Dino would have stayed gone. Fear Factory was great with this lineup!! Now they're all gone...
Agreed but its a paradox, They all need each other. Riffs and the tunes wouldn't exist without Dino. Pioneers. Legends all of them. love this shit :D
@@MrHurtconveyorthis line up made one of their best Fear Factory albums and songs without Dino.

2 great eras of Fear Factory
The OG
and this era
Wish it lasted longer
One of the best examples of heavy as fuck metal with understandable lyrics......
Colonel Ang
In their genre, they re the best band around...so much technicality in their display...agressiveness, chunky, crispy sound...so explosive!
Brilliant performance, haven't seen this in years. Burton fucking nailed the outro, he still had some power back then.

Thanks for letting us know you have all their albums. Lol. Pretty sure every swinging dick on this thread does too.

Ironically, the outro is the only time ever at a show I find myself *closing* my eyes. Just feeling the music, such a great experience
Wolbers' overall performance here is top notch. Not bad
Kuan Drodx yeah man, Christian was cool. great stage presence. the original line up will always be the real FF though. Burt, Dino, ray and Christian.
