Reney and Nick hit the BWCA for a long weekend of fishing, canoeing, long talks by the campfire, and exploring the great outdoors of Northern Minnesota.
Good vid guys. 1st of yours I've watched. Lived in Northern MN for a while. I've done BWCA and Quetico. Both great experiences. Less people in Quetico. Keep up with the good content. Like your style.
Hi Say, yes, GoPro 10 in 5K exclusively. Would love to integrate a DSLR at some point due to the wide angle of the GoPro but it's just so convenient, small, and portable. Thanks for the comments.
The Secret of My Success was the other movie you men are discussing around the campfire. I envy you two with the special relationship you have together. I'm envious that my father and I didn't have a bonding relationship like yours. Cherish the time together because before you know it will be a distant memory that your left with. Good luck to your family.
I felt that pain when you recognized you realized you forgot the onions and peppers as well as the sleeping pad. 🥴 My first trip to the BWCA I forgot all my plastics for fishing and only had jig heads. Now every trip I go I actually pack a separate bag for overnight camping the day before we leave so I don't touch anything that I am bringing on the trip. I'm paranoid like that, but that's because I forget stuff in my everyday like. Can't tell you how many times I leave something at home I need for work and have to go back. 🤦🏻♂
I now don’t feel so bad about the trips I take with my sons. You guys have as many mishaps as we do!😅 Hoping to make that entry point next summer. Great video
Thanks David. Never fails...I lay my stuff out on the living room floor 3-4 days in advance. I actually remember taking my air mattress sack out of my big duffle thinking it was a sleeping bag liner. Duh. Anyhoo, have a great trip with your boys.
Thanks for sharing the video of your trip. I'd love to go back to the BWCA again. As a safety moment for other viewers, be sure to keep your body out of the line of a bow saw. At 21:57, the video caused the Scoutmaster in me to become alarmed.
Hi @ppodhajsky1, thanks for checking in! Good tip for the saw. Unfortunately, I come from the school of Eugene (old man) who had all of us boys with chainsaws in our hands since teenagers. To all viewers, @ppodhajsky1 is right, if you're prone to inattention with hazardous tools, don't follow my lead.😁
The music you referred to (Oh Yea, Yello) is also in 2 other movies, Opportunity Knocks and She's Out of Control. Looks like a great trip. I'd be curious about what lakes/route you took...
thanks BigHammer. We put in at entry point #37, then portaged north up to Lake Polly (pretty much the only obvious route) where we stayed for three nights. Very tough fishing, but you see we caught one lunch's worth with a 2.5 pounder. Very warm and pretty heavy with black flies. Definitely needed the nets. Beautiful area.
Nice video glad I found your channel. We’re planning our first canoe camping trip this year. I can’t wait. It should be a blast. Nothing as nice as yours trip.
Thanks for dialing in Carl. Attitude is 90% of the trip. I love the slowing down of life and getting off the computer. I believe you will have a blast. Good luck.
hi user....for any warm weather trip, a soft side insulated cooler with frozen meat will last easily to dinner with a morning departure. After that, you take your chances.
Yep, you got me. Looked up the pronunciation after your post....I was way off. However, I'm seeing Kash-way, Ka-wish-i-way, and Ka Wish iwi. What's your favorite?
I thought it was bill burr for a second
What a great team! I love BWCA. I'll be there next week. Wilderness life! 😎
Good luck on your trip @Paddle!!!

Love this video!!! Are you using a GoPro and shooting in 4K? Awesome quality

MY son and I do a lot of back woods camping.... love the real life filming. And we are planning a BWCA trip for next year 2024.
Great adventure.👍

Looks like Wolf Scat on the trail to me.
Hey guys, looks like fun 🙂Is that just an old Coleman RAM-X canoe like mine?!
Yep, it's a beast that can take a lot of rough handling. We never worry about this canoe.
"Oh Yeah" by Yello is a song we've used for years for the garter placement music at weddings.

Ka-wish-i- wi, just sayin.
Great video, love it!
How do you keep your meat cooled?

The son should of given his father his sleeping pad. smh.
You are soooooooo right!!!!! Thanks for the sentiment!!!!
Lost me at "kawa-shiwi"
