What a beautiful story of a man and his dogs! This was so well done, and no commentary was needed. John obviously has spent quality time with his "family", as they show respect to outsiders (you) and are so well behaved. I've seen other mush dogs in training in Southern Oregon who cannot even compare. What a gentle man John is! He's definitely earned the respect of his dogs.
Thank you Maureen. John is certainly a dog whisperer. What attracted me to this story is John has a special place in his heart for old dogs, dogs that most mushers try to get rid of when they no longer serve a human purpose. He respects the dignity of his animals.
I have come to believe that a dog is a very special being that will demonstrate unbounded love and respect when the right person comes into their lives. They are MUCH smarter than we sometimes give them credit for and it is heartwarming to see that you have this type of bond with your pack. Happy trails and pleasant journeys to you all.
Excellent story-telling from Mr. Fowler himself and videography, Ray! The true sense of his lifelong passion for dogs and dog mushing comes through beautifully. Makes a person glad to live in the same community where folks with his love of animals and the great outdoors are active and thriving. Looking forward to more of your video-stories, Ray. The potential for highlighting folks with interesting and worthwhile stories here in the Copper River Valley to tell are many! Thanks.
Thank you, although I'm not sure exactly who this is. Please let me know if you have any ideas for stories about folks who personify the Alaskan spirit, who are adventurous and still have the poetry within them.
that was really cool. that takes some real love for the dogs and dedication to them . I couldn't imagine what that life would be like, but wow , what an awesome story. Dwayne
Thank you, Steve, for your kind words and encouragement. I'm trying to improve my videography skills and there is so much to learn. I love telling stories, or letting people tell their own.
My oldest answers with a lick of the lips. My sinerians teach you everything if you are paying attention. The most amazing creatures. More homest than any person ive met

Yes, John really loves his dogs and it shows. He has a very special bond with them, and I hope this video captured it.
Thank you Ray and John. Just beautiful!
Much appreciated Ben. Thanks for watching and for your kind words!
Very well done, as usual, Ray.
Thanks Denny!
Most dogs are better than most people. His dogs seem very calm for sled dogs, well cared for.
Hey Jim, quite a few of us agree. The highest compliment you can pay John is to say his dogs look healthy and good.
I am here after Togo. Great respect to all mushers and their dogs!
Thank you. This is one of my favorite videos I produced.

Thanks Jason. I feel as if our husky, Burn, is a deep thinker. Dogs teach us to become better people, in my opinion, and yes they are very honest.
I hope you can find a younger person to pass on your knowledge and respect for the dogs .
I agree. John has a lot of canine wisdom worth sharing.
