Good progress, it's going to look very nice once finished, I'm not jealous 😅, how lucky to have Square and plum walls to work from, I laid laminate flooring a few weeks ago for the in-laws, had to navigate wonky walls, radiator pipes, awkward cuts around doorways and not a single 90 degrees internal or external corner to be found (even though they look 90 degrees). Initially, the laminates flooring was stored in the garage but I moved it into the house about a week before to climatize, but to be honest although many people will probably disagree I don't think laminate flooring expands and contracts that much if you've left a 10mm gap it'll be fine.
Hey thanks! After I'd used 3 packs up, it was starting to get dark and I had other responsibilities to be getting on with. I won't get another chance to work on the room till the weekend so thought best to put the remaining packs in there as per recommendation. But I think you're right about the expansion. I only used 5mm packers around the perimeter but there's a gap underneath the plasterboard that the floor could expand into further. I think it'll be fine 🙂
@@grim-upnorth 5mm plus a bit extra will be enough, I only used 10mm spacers as that's all I had and that's what it suggested but the gap looked massive, I had to keep checking the beading trim I was installing around the perimeter of the room afterwards would cover the expansion gap, it'll be my luck it'll shift over time to one side due to the foot traffic mostly being in one direction to reveal a 20mm gap on one side.
Hi, yes as it turned out, it was perfectly fine. I've now finished laying the floor and I'm waiting for the skirting to arrive before I make and release the 2nd part of this video. I also found some ways of fixing any gaps that might occur due to expansion and contraction, I've definitely left enough space around the floor so I'm confident it will last. Thank you

The expansion of wood that size will be way less than 10mm, it'll be fine.
