The tidbit about how long it takes for the regular announcements on planes compared to the flight time really puts it in perspective.
Your channel is the reason why I love UA-cam. Unique but interesting content. Kudos 👏
Thank you!
The possible promise of electric powered transport aircraft was envisioned by CapeAir a regional carrier serving the New England in the U.S. However CapeAir has suffered many setbacks. A serious concern has been the dwindling number of landing fields with sufficient support and logistical facilities to handle eVTOL aircraft that have suffered power failures.
These ancient places are increasingly becoming less remote in the modern world. Maybe it's just that You make it look so !:-) 🙏
Most of them are actually pretty remote! But you're right
What would probably make the most sense, given that battery tech seems to have plateaued, is a design that allowed for swapping out those massive batteries reasonably fast. This would address one huge problem: the sheer amount of time it takes to recharge them. I can see a battery of batteries sitting there, all making use of that excess power the wind turbines generate.
Great point
How about a small diesel generator for the charging station? Wouldn't produce much more CO2 than a conventional IC engine!
That is 9525 miles.
The Island of Maui gets most of power from Diesel not really effective for saving the world using electric plane
