  • I almost didn't post this because I felt hideous haha (I lightened my brows before the trip and the bright lighting made them look non-existent)
Drop me a ☆ for posting it anyway

my theory is that you seem to go for shades that create a bit of dissonance with your features, and that adds that little bit of grit to your look that goes so well with your grungey style. so maybe you never felt like your recommended colors fit you bcs even though they are visually the most harmonious with your features, they just create an effect that you don't like on yourself - it's too proper or polished, and although it's great to know what colors make you look your most elegant for special occasions, it might not reflect your personality or your everyday style

Your theory is on point!! Literally described what I couldn't put into words 😅 thank you!!

Exaaactly. Those cool blues and purples (that teal sweater!!) are gorgeous on you but that doesn't mean it's going to "feel" like you. Really enjoyed this!

I'm only part way through watching, but you seem to come up best in the summer palette.

i think maybe the reason u like those classic autumn shades may be ur hair. the tone of your hair makes any autumnal shade look gorgeous, esp when combined w ur skin tone. but tbh i think u look great in any color. color analysis is super interesting tho

I think the analysis results do compliment your features really well, it looks more even and "friendly" idk
But your general colour preferences look cooler and punchier.
I'd probably buy PJs and formal wear in your recommended colours so you can get that "naturally healthy" buff without any effort

I think it would be clearer for you to see with your natural hair color. When you dye your hair you lighten it into a yellowish hue. So even after you've dyed it it fades back to a yellowish hue. Which is not the best on you.
I think what she meant to share on contrast is about prints. If you were to wear a busy pattern like stripes or leopard it would be better to lower the contrast. Like light grey and dark grey leopard instead of black and white leopard.
The muted outfit you try on is very low contrast and it's similar value to your skin. So if the sweater was the same muted color only darker and the skirt was the same muted color only lighter (or vice versa) it would be medium contrast. The colors are right you just need to bump up the contrast.
The black outfit you try on is also very low contrast because it's all dark. However, it has a higher contrast with your skin. Your warm colored sweaters "look better" to you because they create more contrast in value than the other sweaters. If your cool green sweater was lighter it would bring a better level of contrast. (Also if the black was charcoal or navy it would be better.)
Muted colors suit you. Neutral (as in between cool and warm) colors suit you. Cool colors suit you. I think patterns would be best at low to medium contrast. When creating an outfit medium to high contrast. Your low contrast outfit in dark colors seems to work because of the high contrast with your skin. You look good in blue-green, blue, lavender, and pink (all muted colors). Good neutrals are rosy-dusty-brown (like hot cocoa), sage, navy, and light grey.
Good luck! I know it's a lot. You're beautiful no matter what.

I didn’t know your name was Isabel, so pretty! This is so interesting to me and I’ve always wondered what my color palette is! I know I’m have 🫒 skin tone. I love autumn colors on me, deeper, jewel tones, I love grungier style. I’ve never really like brighter or pastel colors on me.

Yeah hehe, thank you!! 🫶🏻 hmm we sound very similar!! Ok after reading all the feedback I think I might be pale olive too lol. You might be aware already, but there's a subreddit for pale olives. It has been super eye-opening to go through! I've always struggled to find a foundation/concealer that matches, and now I know why 😅

Hii, I lovedd the video! I personally agree that you are a neutral to cool, I think you do look great with silver jewelry! I think muted but also the colors you said you like the deep colors look good on you

I think because you're neutral you can pull off the different colors.
I think the color analysis can be helpful and interesting but to your point, subjective in a way. For me, if i were to go get one done and they told me i suited pastel pinks and purples i would have a really hard time integrating those colors into my wardrobe because its just not my style. I think id be most interested in knowing what jewlery tone and hair color would suit me best

      @thrift-rat  6 днів тому

Exactly!!! I think ultimately personal taste trumps what's meant to be most "flattering." You should definitely look into getting it done! :-))

This was so interesting! I love watching color analysis videos. Your skin is perfect and you’re naturally so pretty, I think you can really rock anything. You keep wearing that warm puke green 😣🫵 Sometimes I agree, a flattering color can make someone’s features pop more and an overpowering color can wash someone out. Although, one time a hair stylist told me red hair wouldn’t suit me well cause it would bring out my rosiness and pimples lol. But as long as someone has confidence, that’s what really makes them shine. It all depends on personal style and what they’re going for ✨

    Hi,
Frankly, you can wear whatever you want, if you feel good in it. But It seems to me that you left your session with a misconsception on what is contrast.
High contrast means that if you take a black and white photograph of your outfits , the skirt and tee-shirt will stay black but the cardigans would appear white or at least very light grey. So, there is big difference between the two garnments.
In all the outfits you've shown us, the cardigans, would appear medium to dark grey depending of the outerwear. So, low to medium contrast. The dark green sweater combine with the black skirt create a very low contrast.
Same for what you see as bold colors, they seem to me quite muted, darker than what you saw during your color analysis but still muted. Bright colors would be the red in the art on the wall behind you , or the yellow-green ball? in the background.

Hii hmm guess I took it more as low, mid, to high contrast against my skin color, not the contrast that is created with the garments I put together. I'm not the best at this color/contrast stuff LOL

ok so I'm not a color analysis expert by any means, but I have done art my whole life & I've taken color theory classes... whatever blah blah blah ☠
It's interesting that she said you don't look good with higher contrast...because I would argue that you do. Especially when you're looking at the contrast of your skin color to your hair, there's quite of difference in value. I've seen quite a few videos in which people who have light features overall (like blonde/ginger hair & light eyes) are told that THEY need to be cautious of the higher contrast.
Also muted colors can be dark as well, not just light! So you do have a good amount of that in your wardrobe haha ♥

Me too! But to be fair she said mid contrast is best and high contrast second. Omg you're right!! LOL I have lots of muted browns and greens 😅. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🫶🏻🫶🏻
