I still remember the old days spinning Eternal Nightmare and being blown away by how different it was at the time. As a kid, with a somewhat limited perspective,it took me a bit to get used to Seans vocals. But listening later, with a better perspective, makes me really appreciate them, even more now. You won't mistake Vio-Lence for any other band, and I like that!!! True pioneers. The turntable might get some action yet tonight!
Yeah i always get a certain feeling on certain bands and its, " I dont like it but i know if i make myself like it i will end up loving it. " and i got this feeling on Vio-lence the musicianship is ridiculously fast and i loved it but the vocals made me not enjoy it and after a while your perspective changes and "the metal" hits you hard as fuck and it all clicks. Basically my favorite bands all gave me this feeling XD VOIVOD!!!!
Violence1320 sadly this band deserves a rest in peace among all thrashers to experience a hell of a metal band. rest in peace vio lence 1985 through 2007 along with other bands that faced their own imminent end
i remember this like yesterday. i was there right up front on the right side. they blew every band away that night. most people had never seen them live, and we like WTF. how did this band not make it. they are amazing live.
The only reason why this band did not make it was they changed their sound to quickly. Their first album to the second are very different. Their second album was still thrash but not as aggressive as eternal nightmare. Instead the second album is more progressive
Yeah, they destroyed everyone that night. I was also there. Up front most of the night. Went to the back for a drink after Anthrax and thought "I'll kick back here and soak up the whole Vio-Lence thing." Then, back to the front for Legacy.
@@luisolvera958 Yea but they pushed it forward. Made the sound more meaningful and yet still had the same aggression. And the with master they made the sound even more epic and yet had the same aggression. As for vio-lence the soul was not there after the first album. Thank you for uploading this awesome footage, i wish both dvd's from Vio-lence's Blood and Dirt were uploaded, the documentary on the first is so well made and awesome, and the 2º dvd is full of great live performances, there's not enough Vio-lence footage on youtube :p
I was this show and it was epic beyond words. Vio-lence came on second to last before the Legacy and they blew the roof off the place! The energy was incredible and I forever gained new respect for them. Remember, they followed Heathen, Forbidden Evil, Sadus, Anthrax, SOD, Death Angel, and Exodus. Not an easy task. I always felt like Metaliica, Slayer and Rob Flynne should've played this show. It was a benefit for Chuck Billy and Chuck Shuldner for their cancer after all.
Just fucking love this performance! So much fucking energy and hunger after years of rest. The vibe is soo fucking intense! Even if they almost screw up the first 2 song by playing soo fucking fast it is still soo fucking awsome. And Killian's entrence is fuckin epic! WHATTTHEFUCK!!
i was at the show in 89, with Death Angel, in Hayward/Oakland, at the Civic Auditorium, there was a RIOT!!! it was the most metal fucking show EVER!!!! VIO-LENCE FUCKING RULES!!!!
Was in this crowd, in the pit and just so happened to be there at 26:44 when biggie jumped into the crowd. Might still have his boot imprint on my skull. Greatest fucking show!!!
A LOT of thrash metal bands reunited during the Thrash revolution, I wonder why Vio-Lence didn't record an album since 1993's Nothing To Gain....Too fucking bad......I HOPE they get crowd - funded ...But Flynn and Demmel is in Machine Head Now :-( Still praying for a one-off reunion record where Flynn could just play guitars
I'm really surprised that i didn't saw any comments on how the guitars sucked. The guy in the orange, i'm guessing he's Phil, he fucked up real bad. he wrote most of the songs too but he just managed to fucking mess up everywhere. Incredible.
I was lucky enuff 2 see them on the Oppressing The Masses tour at Bogarts in Cincinnati Ohio!! I can't remember who they played with though!! (Anybody know?)
Remember, they had not played together, other than rehearsals, in 9 or 10 years. The rough first song was all due to nerves. After that the nailed this set. Dean's bass mix is killing it. The guitars could have been mixed better but the vibe is f*^#%÷g is raging.☠🤘💀🤘💀🤘
The live versions of their later stuff especially ageless eyes are so Much better than the album versions. I guess rob was trying to turn them into machine head when they were in the studio on Nothing To Gain

vio-lence was a great thrash band from the eighties that was part of the early thrash movement but the sad fact is they are no longer together and wont get back together because they feel they wont make any money but why can't they just record a new album and not worry about making money money money money!
+gman hirt Money has nothing to do with Vio-lence not being together today. First of all..they didn't start the band because of the money... they started because they loved to thrash and to fuck shit up. Secondly, Rob and Phil have a little small tiny project at the moment... it's called Machine Head.
Sean was unique. Whether you liked his voice or not, nobody else sounded like him. He was an original and his madman vocals were a perfect fit for this band.

One of my all-time favorite vocalists! Sean Killian and Martin Walkyier of Sabbat are 2 of the most unique voices in metal!
