  • Are Bass Guitar Amps Dead? 4 Reasons Why: • Are Bass Guitar Amps D...
    I've been using the Xenon 6's as a replacement for my bass amp for two weeks and I already can't imagine life without them!
    Full disclosure: Even though this is not a paid product placement by Fir Audio or Dakin Custom Audio, I was so impressed with the Xenon 6's that I decided to become a Fir Audio artist.
    I bought the Xenon 6's with my own money but I did receive an artist rate. For this reason, I have chosen to mark this video as featuring a paid product even though this isn't the case.
    That all being said, neither Fir nor DCA had any hand in the making of this video and it's a 100% honest review of my experiences with these in ear monitors.

    Problem with smaller gigs is you are listening to great sounding $4000 in ears but the audience is listening to your sound coming out of a shitty pair of Behringer (or worse) PA speakers.

    I believe there's now a mat you can stand on that silently transmits speaker vibration up your legs through your feet. Never tried one but makes a lot more sense in this situation, especially if tinnitus has ever been an issue.

      I've heard of them. Would love to try one someday!

    Playing with a drummer with a traditional trap set usually means having to play at high volume. Do these IEMs block out enough noise to protect your hearing?

    • @OnlineBassGuitar1
      @OnlineBassGuitar1  3 місяці тому +1

      Easily! I’ve been using them when I’m stood by front of house, drummers etc and been fine.
      And because you can feel the sound I actually find I don’t need to drive them as hard.
      You can adjust the level of noise canceling too between -8db and -16db (I believe) if you get one of the add ons and I think a higher level of cancellation is coming too.
      If you use IEM’s a lot it’s a game changer!

      @@OnlineBassGuitar1 It would be interesting to see a video about how you set it up. Are your IEMs plugged into the mixer or maybe into a monitor?

    Haven't horn players been using conductive IEM'S for years now?

    • @OnlineBassGuitar1
      @OnlineBassGuitar1  3 місяці тому +1

      Oh have they? I hadn’t realised that. Most of the horn players I work with seem to favour headphones with a one ear on, one ear off approach.
      I’d be really curious to know about their IEM’s though.
      Do you know any brands they favour?

      @@OnlineBassGuitar1 Kinera is the brand ringing a bell but to be honest I try not to listen to the brass section too often 🤣

    totally depends on the type of gigs your playing.

    Sure, IEM works and it's good at that. Don't get me wrong. But nothing beats an Ampeg SVT stack rumbling and pushing a lot of air behind you on rock/metal shows. Music is about feeling after all...
    TL;DR: "it depends..."

    To save anyone else the trouble, this is essentially an advertisement for $4000 in-ear monitors. No real advice or input on alternatives to bass amps...

    The physical feeling comes from the speaker making your feet hover and your body sensation allowing play by braille😁🤘🏻🤘🏻and the tinnitus is, well, tolerable... im over 60...
