HEY THERE DELILAH was nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award for Song of the Year but lost out to REHAB sung by Amy Winehouse. There was talk of making a romantic TV series around the song back in 2018. I think a better idea would be a movie based on the real story behind the song.

the fu--ing story of my life...would you guess this? There was this girl, that as soon as I looked at her for the first time I felt dizzy, and I knew I fell hard for her. She used to pass everyday after school in front of my house, and I just watched her passing by, I never had to courage to call her out even once, but I knew her name, her adress, because she was a classmate of a almost-friend of mine. But..she was an angel, I swear I felt as if I would have died by approching her, gosh that face..I couldn't handle that much perfection. many shit happened, but never a direct approach...I never managed to truly make any progress in the end. 15 years later...and I feel like I'm stuck in this weird dream that i'm never waking up from. Life surely moves on, but there's a part of me stuck in the past, and I hate that part of me that keeps me from going all out. Really though...such an undying and powerful love born just from looking at her in the eye...if I knew would I have dared back then? Oh and a funny fact, her name is Dalila (we're Italians), and not many of my friends knew that I loved this song because Delilah is an important(and quite rare around here) name to me...but I didn't know this song's backstory up until now...creepy coincidences

God, after a few listens I was about to cry, this reminds me so much to a similar love story I had, and the song expresses so well the innocence of this teenager love, so pure and honest, bare... The visions of future, friends not understanding such a relationship, distances, difficulties... But still so much will to endure all that.
