as a guitarist I'd rate Jeff Beck in a class of his own, BUT another one of a kind is from Montreal and his name is Frank Marino - his band Mahogany Rush - check out Something Is Coming Our Way from Live at the Agora Theatre concert - you won't believe his stamina - it was a 6hr concert
If you liked Imelda and wanted to see another performance Id recommend her singing Black Tears on Jules Holland.....a fantastic performance and a different side to her.
The Late, Great Jeff Beck, who toured nearly up until he died at 78 years old, his last concert was the final show of the 2022 tour, about 3 months before he died of spinal meningitis in January, 2023. He played like nobody else ever has. While he loved touring and playing, he had no interest in being a "rock star," often playing on other musicians albums, often with no "official" credit. He preferred staying home with his family and building hot rod's, a hobby that really took a hold of him when he toured the US with "The Yardbirds," though he loved fast cars as a child. Some of his most amazing hits were songs by Stevie Wonder (Cause We've Ended as Lovers," or The Beatles (A Day in the Life,) that he transformed into instrumentals that were just amazing. Many of your listeners have spoken about his live concert at Ronnie Scott's, where he performed "Cause We've Ended as Lovers," and it was just the most amazing event. The entire concert is absolutely amazing, with terrific guest performances by Eric Clapton, Joss Stone and Imogen Heap.
Jeff Beck is arguably one of the best guitarist in contemporary music There’s a live show at “ Ronnie Scott’s “ with his band that’s so good. The song “Cause we ended as Lovers” is so sweet. His Bassist Tal Wickenfield will blow you away
I wanted to give a shout out to Tal Wickenfield on bass, she’s so good Tal. , Angeline Saris and Rhonda Smith , those 3 lady bassist are just monster talents , worthy of checking out.
@mhlevy. Angeline Saris has been playing with the Nardia Michael Walton Band for a long time. He drummed &wrote for Whitney Houston Aretha Franklin , Sting , Journey , Jeff Beck and toured with Rhonda & Jeff. Angeline a solo artist and hired hand ,she’s just phenomenal. She has a song “Cone Undone” Anyway have a great week.
Jeff Beck, throughout his career, would put together great musicians and singers and just play. Amazing composer and guitarist. Imelda is an an incredible vocalist and plays off of Jeff beautifully. RIP, JB
Jeff Beck was a true artist he never took the spotlight away from anyone if anything his generosity was unlimited . Everyone who was anyone wanted to play with Jeff and he did his rendition of Nessum Dorma on a electric guitar that Eric Clapton said was the most incredible thing he had ever heard.
FYI, the drummer is Steve Rushton, one of the most versatile and sought-after session drummers in the UK. He toured with Imelda for 10 years and used to room with Jeff back in the day. He's also one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.
Descubrí este concierto en youtube, inmediatamente me compré el DVD y creo que al menos una vez al mes lo escucho, es una genialidad, todo: ella, él, las colaboraciones, concierto perfecto.
There isn't anyone else who plays guitar like Jeff does. He didn't seek the spotlight the way the other guitar greats did, so has always been in the shadows and not as recognized. But you know, he just may be the best. (He replaced Clapton in The Yardbirds and was joined by Jimmy Page in the group for a while too.) Peace!
Yeah man, that's how you recognize the greatest at playing the guitar. You know it's them as soon as you hear them play. It was like that with Hendrix, with Eddie and of course with Jeff. I was really sad when I heard he died and I miss talent like that in todays music. @@neshobanakni
Jeff was a guitar czar. Imelda is not as well known in the US but is a star in the UK. Also notice Blue Lou on baritone sax. He played with The Blues Brothers and many others.
Jeff. Legend. One of the best. Beck, Clapton and Page revolved around each other like a trio of planets. His thumb picking style was unique. Jeff played with everybody. A true musician that followed his passion to play. Gotta love The Blues!
That's where my brother and I saw them too! Opening band weren't slouches either! We saw the first show on April 1st. My bad, we saw them at the Cadillac Palace Theater.
Jeff Beck and the Yardbirds played their first American concert at my high school, Staples, in Westport CT. The guy who opened for them was a drummer that played guitar with at his home named Steve Tallirico. We got together afterwards and talked about how we had never heard anything like it. Steve later became better known under the name Steven Tyler - of Arrowsmith. Linda Eastman photographed it and took time to show me how to compensate exposure for the stage spotlighting. She later became better known under the last name "McCartney" What an unforgettable night!
You definitely need to check out more of Jeff Beck. His solo work will blow your socks off. Have to check out live performances. Beck's Bolero, Big Block, Freeway Jam, Blue Wind, Cause We Ended As Lovers. Also check out the bass player Tal Wilkenfeld, she is from Australian, very talented
Got to see him play at Vicar St in Dublin about 15yrs ago. No words sang the whole gig just Jeff playing guitar and it was the best gig I ever went to. It was very intimate not a huge crowd. I'm so happy I got to see him live 🇮🇪❤️
Remember Walking In The Sand was originally done by The Shangri-Las in '64. When Jeff was with the Yardbirds he was the guitarist all tried to figure out how he came up with the sounds he got out of his guitar.
"showing his potential" He was the greatest ever.. I sas him about two weeks before he passed. It actually efected me emotionaly ,, but ive been a huge fan since the 1960s. His talent wlil be missed. If you take a deep dive you will find some amazing music. Les Paul is the inovater of many things guitar players take for granted. He invented multi tracking and it opened the door for todays recording technics.
More Jeff Beck!!!! Les Paul was a huge pioneer in studio recording. Please check out The Jeff Beck Group and his solo stuff. You will not be disappointed. Best feel in the world.
The Yardbirds was one of the most consequential bands in rock history…..not because they were that successful as a band (although they had several hits) but because three OUTSTANDING guitarists were the lead in that band; Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and finally Jimmy Page. In actually, Led Zeppelin started its life as The New Yardbirds…in order to fulfill several gig obligations that Jimmy Page had inherited from the then defunct Yardbirds. Jeff and Jimmy were best friends as teens, and it was Jeff who brought Jimmy into The Yardbirds when Page was fed up with session work. It was Jimmy who inducted Jeff into the TRRHOF….and they remained best mates until Jeff’s death on January 10th of last year. One year anniversary. Jeff is considered by most great guitarists as being among the best, if not the very best……Page certainly was in awe of him, in large part because Jeff was always experimenting to get new sounds out of his guitar that others didn’t even think of. He was a great jazz guitarist in addition to blues and rock.
Thanks for introducing me to Imelda May, Jeff Beck (R.I.P.) I know from far back, excellent musician. Especially in the first song here, I almost got Led Zeppelin vibes and that´s about the best complement I can give any artist or band. Greetings! /Ulf
I have my shot of Jeff Beck (r.i.P.) EVERY morning. Am 72 and a retired guitar pro. He IS Not another guitar Hero , He IS the unmatched ultimate master of the Stratocaster and Not even Hendrix or Stevie Ray nor Clapton could come even come close 🌟✨🌞♥️
The first song is actually a cover of a song originally done by the female group the Shangri-La's in the 1960's. The Shangri-La's had a big hit with "Leader Of The Pack".
You Got Jeff Beck !!! I got a few for you mostly from 2007 and 2009 when that young little girl Tal Wilkenfeld showed up at his door to audition for the 2007 tour. He thought it was a joke but quickly realized how good she is and became her mentor. He & his wife treated her like a daughter. and the interactions between them are priceless. 2007 crossroads and 2009 Ronnie Scotts. There is also a video of them both playing her base. It was her idea when Jeff and a problem with his amp durien a concert.
Wonderful! Long time fan of Jeff Beck but first time hearing Imelda May. I was tickled to hear the second song, Please Mister Jailer, I was familiar with it through the 1990 Johnny Depp movie Cry Baby.
Love it! I've never heard that one before! It was awesome! I''m more familiar with his earlier stuff like from the Blow by Blow and Wired albums! Thanks.
This was outstanding. My first time seeing this performance and Imelda May. You should check out Jeff Beck “Cause We Ended as Lovers” from his Blow By Blow album.
I didn't see Jeff....but I saw most of that band with Imelda and it looks like this could be the Birchmere in Wash DC area. That's where she plays in this area. Seats right up to the stage! The whole show was amazing.
Les Paul and his wife Mary Ford did some great music. Also, Les Paul was good friends with Steve Miller's parents and fro what I understand, he taught Steve Miller how to play guitar in Dallas, Texas. Steve Miller in turn taught or helped people like Michael Martin Murphy and Boz Skaggs learn the guitar, also Dallas area guys
He should have played it on a Gibson Les Paul to make the tribute complete. I mean, it's called that because Les Paul consulted on the design and specification of the Gibson Les Paul.
instant add to playlist! I had never seen this, but of course had heard Aerosmith's good but lesser version. I knew Jeff Beck was otherworldly. Going off to search Imelda May.
Jeff Beck's death hurt me as much as when either of my parents passed away. As a matter of fact, his being on the planet creating some of the most incredible guitar playing was strong heart felt medicine that helped me get thru the day/night. The last year has been extremely hard on me emotionally for various reasons. Listening to his music has been helpful, but it always reminds me that the #GOATGuitarist is no longer with us but his musical endeavors will always be here for his family, friends, & fans to enjoy. How much did I love Jeff Beck ? I got to see him 15 times perform his guitar artistry in concert. 1) "Fire Meets Fury" with Stevie Ray Vaughan in Chicago, Illinois 1989 2) 2 times with Santana in 3 days in Illinois & Wisconsin 1995 3) "Who Else" tour 2 times in Illinois 1999 4) "You Had It Coming" tour in Illinois 2001 5) Eric Clapton "Crossroads" shows in 2007 & 2010 in Bridgeview, Illinois 6) Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in Cleveland,Ohio 2009 7) Intimate club tour at Park West, Chicago 2009 8) Les Paul tribute tour with Imelda May, Cadillac Theater, Chicago,Illinois 2011 9) Chicago Theater 2015 10) "Loud Hailer" Ravinia Highland Park, Illinois 2016 11) Performed half hour encore with Rod Stewart Hollywood Bowl, Hollywood, California 2019 12) "18" tour with Johnny Depp Phoenix, Arizona 2022 EVERY time I saw Jeff Beck perform in concert he never disappointed anyone in attendance. He only got better & better mastering the guitar as the years went on in his life. He was the only musician I have ever seen in my lifetime that propelled me to a place I had only experienced when seeing him live. I was so happy & joyful when I was in attendance watching/listening to him tear it up. I'll never be in that place again unfortunately. I am so grateful & lucky to have seen "The Guv'nor" of guitar as many times as I had. After he passed away, I was feeling every negative feeling anyone could experience. I was devastated. The one thing that helped get me thru the pain was all the famous guitarists & their comments about Jeff Beck. Basically EVERYBODY loved Jeff Beck as far as his guitar playing but also that he was such a kind & humble person to be around. The only thing he loved more than his self made cars & guitar collection was his widow Sandra. Jeff & Sandra were big time animal activists which is another reason why I respected them so much. I miss him. Always will. But I will never forget him or the extraordinary music he created with his guitar. He was "One of One". We will never see another guitarist like him in our lifetime. RIP Jeff Beck.
Jeff Beck is one of the 3 guitar greats from the Yardbirds. He is mostly instrumental and does songs with various singers. Joss Stone and Jeff did a pregame show at Wembley Stadium in 2014 before an NFL Game. It is a must see. There are others with her and other singers like the one you are now doing with the great Imelda May. Jeff beck ... Stratus 2009 Ronnie Scott's.. and ... Big Block 2007 crossroads.
I believe that this is the one that you meant to review, from a tribute to Les Paul concert that I believe was when he was still alive and participated in. He was a huge influence on Beck, he said that hearing Les Paul on the radio station that his mom listened to is what called him to the guitar. This was the first time I heard Imelda, I’ve been a fan ever since. As much as people talk about the great triumvirate of yardbird guitarists, Eric and Jimmy weren’t there very long , Page initially joined as the Bassist because as fate would have it, he was in the crowd watching his buddy Jeff who he’d known since they were thirteen when the previous bass player announced after the show that he was leaving. With Clapton they were one of a number of very good London Blues Bands, when Jeff left and Jimmy was the lead guitarist they were a mess, it’s the Beck era that set a new course for guitar rock. If I had to pick one to recommend it would be The Train Kept A Rollin’ a song that started as a Jump Blues in 1951, was covered a few years later as a Rockabilly song, Jeff brought his version to the band complete with sounds that nobody had heard before kicking into one of the most driving riffs in the history of Rock. m.ua-cam.com/video/Vt-lKsOz9H0/v-deo.html
Johnny Got A Boom Boom is the place to start if you wanted more Imelda May. Bit of trivia....the guy standing behind her playing the big orange Gretsch guitar is her husband!....actually ex now i believe. He was the guitar player in her band in the early days.
Now you have to react to the 1964 original of that first song, "Remember (Walking in the Sand)" by the girl group The Shangri-Las, as well as the 1979 Areosmith cover.
Imelda May is very well known in the Rockabilly world. To get an idea of her sound I recommend "Proud and Humble", "Johnny Got a Boom Boom", "Wild Woman", and "Road Runner". Also, I think you are the first reactors I've seen watch Imelda May, I hope this is the beginning of a trend. Thanks for the reaction. 🙂
VERY NICE!! Jeff the God/Legend on guitar and Imelda has a Outstanding stellar catalogue of songs and videos I hope you check out. Nothing like honoring the great Les Paul with a master on the biggest rival guitar brand 😉 Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
Two songs I would love to see you do by Jeff Beck: "Hammerhead" from the studio release "Emotion Commotion" and "My Thing" from the release "Jeff". These are some power packed tracks that display just how cutting edge Jeff Beck could be. Which is where he usually resided, on the cutting edge of music despite his historic beginnings from The Yardbirds. Rest In Peace Jeff Beck. You gave us so much great music!
Oh, you just GOTTA react to every song that you can from Jeff Beck's Live at Ronnie Scott's show - on fire music so live. Please, please, please, please. How good was it? Led Zeppelin members were in the audience.
I would like you to react to a Spanish singer her name is Diana Navarro with the song "El perdón" she is a very versatile singer singing different musical styles. She always transmits with that particular voice she has and those incredible melismas.
It would be well worth your while to react to the original of this song. I was a teenager when it came out. And this song was just so different than everything else. We heard back then. Really strong memories of dating during those years of the 60s.
To clarify confusion, this performance was a tribute to Les Paul (see the video title of the video we're reacting to).
as a guitarist I'd rate Jeff Beck in a class of his own, BUT another one of a kind is from Montreal and his name is Frank Marino - his band Mahogany Rush - check out Something Is Coming Our Way from Live at the Agora Theatre concert - you won't believe his stamina - it was a 6hr concert

Almost a year since the greatest guitarist ever Jeff Beck passed away R.I.P 🎸🎸
Jeff Beck passed away last year😢. One of the most influential Guitarists of all time RIP Jeff Beck
Yes, and there's a wonderful tribute to him from Imalda, her walk on is phenominal! Plus Ronnie Wood and Johnny Depp too..
Imelda May was killing it - she's an Irish singer who loves Rockabilly and has played with Jeff on numerous occasions.
They had a whole tour with this call Rock-N-Roll Party I saw it great show
@stevenseul361 I saw it as well, great show!

Jeff always makes the singer the star. He’s one of the best guitar players of all time, but he always knows how to back up a vocalist.
Makes the guitar speak 🤘🏴

Imelda May is a too little known and much underrated singer, she is phenomenally good.
Jeff became in his later years a very unselfish player. He was content to letter other people shine. However, when it was his turn... WOW!
In the sixties Jeff Beck was ahead of the pack and still remains one of the great jazz/Rock guitarists of all time
Jeff Beck and the Yardbirds played their first American concert at my high school, Staples, in Westport CT.
Jeff Beck has a "tune" called ended as lovers. Serious check it out.
No pick!! Let that sink in….. 😁 Jeff Beck can play!
There can be only one. That one was Jeff.
Jeff Beck sporting the Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps look.
MORE BECK !!!
Such sensuality
félecitations
There was a fine pedigree of guitar players in the Yardbirds. They include Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck, three of the very best!
Is your blood boiling yet?
What a duo indeed...!
Yeah, that little Irish girl can sing..
Still plugging for that Slade reaction, Cum on feel the Noize sung by Noddy Holder…one of the best voices in rock…according to Ozzy Osbourne
These 2 are talking about the singer when the best 🎸 player was there 🤔
Jeff Beck vocals was his hands and fender strat 🎸🎶🎵‼️ In a league of his own 👍
Imelda May is very well known in the Rockabilly world. 🙂
This is Imelda's band playing with them
imelda is a great vocalist!!
Including her ex husband..
Beth Hart and Jeff Beck performances are special as well!
This is a Shangri-La song. You should check them out (if you haven't already).
VERY NICE!! Jeff the God/Legend on guitar and Imelda has a Outstanding stellar catalogue of songs and videos I hope you check out. Nothing like honoring the great Les Paul with a master on the biggest rival guitar brand 😉 Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
Another famous guitarist who was with the YARD BIRDS
Nice to see Warren Haynes in the crowd. (Allman Brothers and Government Mule)
Jeff Beck greatest guitarist ever.
Three big name guitarists came out of the Yardbirds. The legendary Jeff Beck who we just heard, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Paige from Led Zeppelin fame.
