The franchise is literally named after the weapon that’s meant to halt the flood infection
WARNING I am the unprettiest human YTer worldwide. Take the hint, dear licht
Indeed, logically it would make thematic sense to bring them back to end this season and start the next
Also halo four and five didn’t really touch on the halo rings all too much, it would make all the sense in the world to have them bare significance once again
@@aphaiknaime5920 yeah then 4 and 5 would actually freaking be going somewhere. Otherwise their stories wouldn't tie in at all and they'd be wasted effort
@@horrificpleasantry9474 Well, at this point I think they should have thrown 4 and 5 into the garbage can (by which I mean, ignore their existence, do as if they were never made). A huge side of the Halo community hates them so might as well start anew and start strong, why would you continue an already disliked story when you could start a possible liked one? In any case, I'm not sure about this but I think Infinite will kind of be its own thing, it won't have much relation to 4 and 5.

If the Flood returns, is there a possibility of CORRUPTOR?
We need ancient humans back. Humanity's test should be ironically be one where they defend Forerunners from a faction of genocidal acient humans who have returned to the galaxy to kill every forerunner to the last
'Access denied, Microsoft want us to keep it rated Teen, so no bloodshed for you'
@@pastordonkoh7692 There are no ancient humans (unless you're asking for an entire game set 100,000+ years ago during the Forerunner-Human War). As of H3 Forerunners were still in canon the ancient humans but that got subtly shifted in the Bear books so that there are indeed Forerunners out there somewhere, probably hiding in Dyson spheres kept within splipspace, experiencing time at a slower rate, and checking on the status of the galaxy once a millennium to see when it's safe to come out.
Then there's that ship that crashed on Halo 04 which is mentioned in the H2 anniversary terminals which does offer some interesting lore possibilities.
The Mona Lisa has cemented the flood into my mind forever. I hope for their "triumphant" return in infinite and a horror game in the future
A Flood based game. You are a lone Spartan. You only have your MA5c assault rifle, and your M90 shotgun. Your radio equipment is broken, and you are trapped in a Flood infested zone.

I think what everyone forgets about Halo is it was originally very Sci-Fi Horror, especially the first two games. Seriously, go back and play them again! The massive amount of gore, blood, scary moments, etc. The newer games have adopted a teen rating for a 'wider audience', removing blood, almost completely, and such. Yet the violent nature of the games is what drew a lot of kids in originally. The original game was rated M for Mature. 343 seems to have overlooked that, and I hope they redeem themselves with Infinite.
wait, hold on. they are trying to adopt halo to a wider audience. if so why is it rated t in the first place. doom eternal did the same thing but also kept it m rating, why cant 343 do the same.

The Act Man: "Sweating Intensifies"
I locked up Kiggy in my basement
@@e.chewout770 Why do you keep repeating that? I don't think anybody gets "the" joke
Well... the Flood are literally the reason halo is called...halo. So it definitely needs to be here.
@penguinothedestroyer99 You sure? Halo, galaxy wiping weapons designed to KILL the flood. You don’t see the entire basis of why it’s called “Halo”?.
@penguinothedestroyer99 Dude the whole twist of the first game is revealing the halos were specifically designed to purge and remove the threat of the flood they are tied together, the Title of Halo may partly be because of the setting but the whole existence of the Halo itself is entirely about the flood not because it sounds cool. You need to understand how important the flood really is to the story and that again... Without them the halos would never exist. The entire story of their creation revolves around the flood. It needs to return not just because of how vitally important they are to the universe but the fact being they were never really defeated, they were delayed. So yes they need to make a return.
The flood is the yin to the Halo's yang. Everything we love about Halo exists because these two things existed. Something so ancient, unpredictable, and violently gross is an incredibly grounding concept. You put that on the back burner and every faction war we see and experience will feel awkwardly puny in comparison. Like, in real life, gang wars in some local city compared to a potential invasion of the whole country by terrorists looking to kill without remorse. Those gangs can fight, but they're all aware that it could be over in the blink of an eye!
This is true
But most of us humans are stupid until we find out that most of our wars were useless
Imagine in infinite:
Brohammer: “What is it Chief, more brutes?”
Chief: “...Worse.”
Anyways, while part of me thinks having the flood back would really cheapen Halo 3’s ending since they were supposed to be destroyed, they were already in Halo Wars 2 so they wouldn’t be intruding on anything more at this point, and I’d take the flood over the Prometheans 10/10 times. Imagining them with all their forms but with new AI like we saw the covenant get in the demo would be amazing, I just hope they could pull it off if they went that route.
To be fair, at the end of halo 3 they weren't ever explicitly said to be dead, and the gravemind even had the line about defeat, implying that they will return even if the current outbreak has been quenched. I think it'd be best if they brought them back through the banished accidentally opening up research facilities on the ring and releasing samples of the parasite, especially seeing as Zeta halo was the biggest research facility. But yeah, I really hope 343 can make em work if they end up bringing them back, hopefully continue fleshing em out like they were in halo 3
@@steve7745 not only that, but the flood still have a presence elsewhere besides high charity.
Also we “ defeated the flood in halo 1” and then they returned in halo 2 so I don’t think it would be a big deal
And them not being present in halo infinite would cheapen the entire lore, considering their role in zeta halo where halo infinite takes place
I just wanna way, i really want a custom game called "Terror flood in the ring". Just me, my gun with low ammo and a terrifyng atmosphere with a lot of flood ia

@@horrificpleasantry9474 oh yeah that would be a great way to improve forge. Far cry 5 did it good for the most part with its map editor

I love the concept that despite them appearing like mindless zombies they're all the quivering appendages of a super intelligent being, and that the Gravemind knows exactly how unsettling the Flood is to sentient life. There's no doubt in my mind that he makes them as hideous and revolting as possible knowing how it can just cripple his enemies with fear.

Optional flood.
With this next game being open world, and so many crevasses to explore. You theoretically could experience the entire game without seeing the flood. Then on other playthroughs you have the Spartans who get a little too curious or greedy looking for hidden treasures or weapons who stumble upon the place where no Human wants to go. Seeing green tubes filled with murky bubbling water the size of walls. Lining along the corridors with lights dimly swinging back and forth emitting a soft warm glow next to the tubes of extraordinarily complex and rugged design. Upon entering this location could open Pandora's box and unleash the flood upon the map affecting the entire game, cutscenes and story.
Almost like Having two stories side by side.
A little too ambitious but my goodness what a way to screw yourself up if you do open up the facility.

The Flood amalgamation idea I think is amazing. Gives me flashbacks to The Thing with that one creature that was a combination of two guys.

Can you imagine the flood being in firefight mode?

LASO Flood Firefight. The question is, how long will you last?
The answer is, you won't.
@@anthonylamonica8301 why does it need to be laso? I hate melee for health. But you know what I would love to see. Halo tower defense, and take inspiration from Gears of Wars'horde mode
@@horrificpleasantry9474 I'm no good at LASO either. It's an option for those masochistic psychopaths who enjoy getting their SPARTAN killed repeatedly, and horribly, every two minutes.
If they do bring back the VISR for low light conditions, it would be cool if human forms still showed as green. It's not like the visor knows that FF tag is currently in a space zombie
I think there should be a level where that is used against you. As master Chief your traveling through dark woods, you see red lights and green/yellow lights, as you travel to what you think is your allies, you start receiving heavy enemy fire and your first action is to take cover and fire your weapon back, thinking you are with a bunch of unsc marines, it’s shockingly revealed that they are all flood infected and you are surrounded and have to fight your way out. Things can be added on like, after escaping them you run to the other side where you were being fired at, and see that they are flood as well. There you are stuck in the woods at night, two armies of flood on either side of you and you flash light is broken. Happy hunting spartan.
Your idea made me think of something . Like could you Imagine if the flood was capable of reanimating your co-op partner(s) bodies making you fight super powerful infected so that they would still be a threat in multiplayer

I would love to play halo with this guy lmao it would be like a lore lesson every mission you played lmao. Would be super dope
Imagine, Chief is exploring a installation in the ring where a spartan squad went missing, suddenly his suit detects something in the air and starts analysing it and then it appears: "Warning, flood spores detected!" and you start getting attacked by the spartan squad turned by the flood
That would surely give back the halo ce vibe
There's a coded protocol for this kind of scenario: CORRUPTER. When a CORRUPTER scenario is declared, all local UNSC forces are immediately authorized to arm and use weapons of mass destruction to cleanse the outbreak before it becomes uncontrollable.
This isn't an issue the Chief can solve on his own. This is an issue where the Chief is given a mission timer, a destination marker, and a Warthog in which to reach said marker before the timer goes off because failing to do so means being caught in the blast radius of a dozen SHIVA warheads raining down from above.
@@anthonylamonica8301 that could be the final mission actually,
If the flood were ever reintroduced, I would introduce them like how an actual flood works with small trickles, luring the player to think they won't be that big of a threat in comparison to the banished or the created but suddenly swarm them with massive numbers, forcing master chief to retreat, showing the true threat that the flood poses

The Flood should return. I would like them return like how they look and do things in like in Halo 2 and the Flood from Halo wars 1 and Halo wars 2 . The Flood Using Vehicles, knowing how to get on and in vehicles, knowing how to use turrets, climbing on walls , jumping off cliffs , knowing using more weapons . Halo 2 has many Awesome skulls in it also too . Also they should bring more Flood species in it like Flood Grunts, Flood Jackels, Flood Hunters, Flood Furerunners while carrying carbines, beam riffles jackel shields , and many other things.
Unfortunately the “Flood Hunter” is impossible if you mean the actual hunter getting infected because ya know, worm hive minds and all that, but if you mean like a big thing of bio-Mass that too a hunters armor and weapons? That’s terrifying

During the middle of a promethean boss battle and a gravemind shows and the boss is like “oh aye bro let’s deal with that first k? K.
There is just something about the Flood that inherently makes them freak one out... the first time i played Halo CE, i already knew what the flood was and did and i still screamed like a baby as soon as i played the Library
A lot of Halo Combat Evolved Community gamers feared the Library the most as the creepiest level. To me personally it was 343 Guilty Spark that scared me it was the first time we ever saw them the way Cortana tells Chief to hurry and leave on the last mission and he ran the cutscene leading to the next the elite with his chest ripped open, the grunts and jackals running, the bloody jackal mess, Mendoza's dead body the blood in the room the Marine screaming about the infection form going inside fighting them in the wet jungle having them come and spawned from different fogged up and dense jungle I could go on. "THE COVENANT FOUND SOMETHING, BURIED IN THIS RING...AND NOW THEY'RE AFRAID"
With the idea of having combined combat forms while animating them fusing together would be difficult that doesn't mean you can't still have models and bigger combat forms and have them play differently in the game. Like a brute combat form with a Jackal attached to it while the shield is still on and protecting them or an elite and human mix with two arms holding an assault rifle while the tentacle arm has an energy sword attached to it
I would really like to see the flood infection forms retain their old putrid green glowing color from Halo CE and their spider-like movement from halo 2. I also hope that the carrier forms become more aggressive and faster like the ones from CE, I personally did not think that they were too much of a problem in H2 and H3 since they were very slow and weren't too much of a challenge. In CE the carriers chased after you at a fast speed constantly bobbing their entire body and whipping their tentacles around violently until they would collapse against the floor and explode with infection forms flying everywhere, it was truly terrifying.
I hope that the Halo: Infinite's Legendary ending to reintroduce the Flood as a galaxy sized threat in one of two ways.
1) A scene of Flood ships emerging from Slipspace and descending upon an unsuspecting planet.
B) Shots of a massive Flood fleet from a galaxy they've fully infected over the course of the last 100,000 years as they ominously move towards the Milky Way Mass Effect 2 style to test Humanity for the Mantle of Responsibility.
The way he explains the flood is always the best. Props
"We exist together now, two corpses in one grave"
"Do not be afraid. I am peace; I am salvation."
I would love to have a level where a spartan combat form chases you through a mission. Kind of like that Super Xenomorph from Dead Space. Also they need to bring back the original flood theme from CE ost.
I miss those iconic bois
Hey, I have the same profile picture on my other account!
Imagine how the flood is gonna look like I bet there is going to be a new flood form
I like to imagine we'd be on a simple mission to investigate a distress call from a ship or a base but when we arrive there's nothing. We occasionally would hear skittering and bangs in the walls. Then we'd reach a control room and look at security cameras where we'd see soldiers running from something off screen and in the last one Chief would see a guy dragged away by a tentacle. Chief would then hear banging on the door of the room he's in as something starts pulling the doors open.....then we hear that familiar screech..
The Mona Lisa had some decent body-horror imo. Not all the forms were the same, some had very different looks and feels to them in some scenes. Like when the second squad is in the waste water area of the ship.
Everyone wants the flood back in halo until they actually have to fight those scary ass mfs
Also assault rifle 60 bullets per mag needs to return!!!!
Seriously your flood data base hooked me into your videos. But i remember first time i came to you it was after the mini cinematics and movies we got. Wanted to extend it with some analysis videos and you were the best and most clear man! Thank you very much! Blessings from Germany!
Ok, 2 things, A. since infinite is going for more wildlife, it would be so cool to have something like the mules from reach return, like little wild life bosses. B. Something like if the flood managed to infect what is essentially a giant monster would be so awesome.
It's been a while since a flood video huh
I better see some infected spartan 4s
They be the most dangerous of all flood encounters
@@BanishedSilentShadow3318 It'd actually make them dangerous to something for a change.
@@anthonylamonica8301 well if I remember correctly in one of Hidden's video about the spartan flood, they'd be the most dangerous foes that they have to use nukes to kill just one flood spartan.
So if a spartan does get infected then it'll most likely be the dangerous foe the chief would face, well however they make it that is. Since technically we never faced a flood spartan
@@BanishedSilentShadow3318 Let's be real, barring the stupidity that was Fireteam Osiris, SPARTAN-IVs have demonstrated zero combat capability. Zombifying them would finally make them dangerous in a fight; too bad they wouldn't be your allies anymore.
And yes, the scenario where a SPARTAN gets infected is called CORRUPTER. Once declared, every UNSC ship in the vicinity is authorized and advised to bombard the crap out of the area with SHIVA warheads.
i feel like, even without flood spartans in actual gameplay, there'd be a sick way to include them. imagine this:
you're going about your business exploring the ring, you come across a radio, ravings and panic are heard as descriptions of a spartan team being infected during some kind of breach, then, the commander from the infinity in orbit quickly reacts with the proper procedure and dispatches nuclear warheads directly to the area. this sweet, but small dialogue could even be heightened by having an amazing shot off in the distance, (imagine you come across this radio on a cliffside overlooking thousands of miles of the ring or something) you suddenly see a blinding light as they impact in the distance. this could even lead into some kind of slight scenery or environment change.
my point is, in any case, the unsc's protocols would never willingly let an infected spartan remain in existence, haha.
I think it would be completely cool to come across The Flood randomly, exploring the world. Going into some dark Forerunner cave that you've only seen Sentinels and weird Forerunner tech in so far...you see some new heavy duty Sentinels...you keep pushing, and suddenly...the music starts.
It'd be cool if they went full Gears and had the random combat forms mutate mid-fight.
The flood is like almost the best thing in halo not even joking
They can either be the best or the worst. Depends on the level
I'm coming to really like your current style of videos, the new channel look is really great too.
11:41 this reminds me of the Virals from Dying Light. Those were recently turned zombies and you could actually hear some words from them sometimes like "no" when you hit them with a weapon and they curl up for a split second. This would be so cool with the Flood
Somehow... the Flood have returned
The Legend of the Flood: A Link to the Past
Imagine if in Halo 3, during Floodgate, if the Elites had started glassing the planet before you finished "finding Cortana". Like in the background, they were just glassing the sh*t out if the planet. Kind of like the atmosphere of Reach when it was being glassed. Glassing are so terrifying and atmospheric
@HiddenXperia one thing needed is jump scares. They'll test your spartan reflexes and definitely embrace the horror. Imagine this scenario:
Chief is in the middle of a flood skirmish, entering a forerunner building. His mission is to retrieve something of value while fighting alongside Swords of Sanghelios members. You all fight hard deeper and deeper into the darkness. The power is off in the building and the flood fog is dense, so you need your flashlight to see in front of you. As one ally after another gets picked off, you are suddenly alone in this eerily silent corridor. Flood growths are everywhere on the walls. You finally reach the room you needed to get to, and you see bodies of fallen members of another faction that previously tried to retrieve it, but failed to do so. One body is holding it, so you stand over the body and press the action button to search the body. But then, without warning, the corpse comes to life and lunges at you with great speed and ferocity, with tendrils suddenly bursting out of its skin. The rest of the bodies rise and suddenly you are surrounded in a small, dark room. Your reflexes are the only thing between life and a gruesome death.
Another possibility, you successfully retrieved the item and are heading out. But one of the hard light bridges you took before suddenly shuts down when you're in the middle of it. You plummet into the midnight black pit below, your already obscured vision getting clouded with spores. You land on the floor below, taking some damage to your shields. You turn the flashlight on and suddenly, dozens of flood forms are illuminated right in front of you, ready to rush you. Those few saved bullets will now come a long way.
I know these are a bit sloppy, I came up with them on the spot. But you understand what I'm getting at. The idea of surprises that happen when you least expect it, turning a simple mission into an instant of sudden death, definitely fits the flood feel and adds many possibilities to their gameplay
the battle in infinite
unsc vs Banished vs Prometheans vs flood at the same time ...
To be honest, we know the flood still exist because the UNCS has spartan armor to deal with flood, and on top of that the spirit of fire fought the flood so they are out there somewhere.
The flood WILL return. We must have patience. The journey requires sacrifice.
UNCS?
@@werhnerd2773 UNSC, I was typing kinda fast, didn't proofread.
It took me a few days to watch this, but it always brings a smile to my face when I get to see one of these videos in my notifications. Thanks for making such great content!
I had a dream where in the middle act of Infinite on how the Flood are to be introduced.
At this point in the story, the UNSC is starting to gain advantage over the Banished. Chief from returns to Brohammer. Brohammer plays for Chief an intercepted Banished communication. The Brute on the radio mentions that his pack is closing on a supposed buried weapons cache.
The words “buried weapons cache,” spark a sense of dawning horror and urgency on MC. He orders Brohammer to prepare the Pelican to head that location immediately. Brohammer asks why, Chief tells him that he has no time to explain, he has to stop what’s about to be unleashed before it’s too late.
It would be really cool to see a mechanic that when your shields are down, if you take too many hits from the popcorn floods, they'll eventually infect you, starting a death animation of the player turning into a flood form!
"There is much talk. And I have listened...through rock and metal and time" -Halo 3 Gravemind P.S. love you Hidden Xperia!!
Halo 2 my dude. When Arby and chief meet ❤️
Halo 2 bro
Oh shoot...my bad you guys are right 😂 don’t know what I was thinking
Great video! Speaking of promentians I actuially thing specifically te watchers are very well made enemy. I's like to see a similar enemy again at some point. They were a pit like huragok but could only shield 1 person at the time and threw back your nades at you, and also was capable of fleeing pretty well. Like the huragok, it was very nice to get rid of it as early as possible.
I think the ultimate best would be to have the flood come in in the very end and therefor opens the next chapter. The ultimate flood war
*The flood will return in Avengers: Endgame*
Nice
Yesssir
The idea of *flood combat forms combining* brought me PTSD from the movie “the thing” from John Carpenter.
As for the part of swarming the player with flood kind of remind me *Halo Spartan Assault flood mode* where basically you and your friend got the entire screen full of flood and even they made a special flood infector with yellow colours that could attack the spartan even with shields.
Since there is an emphasis with infinite on wildlife, I think it would be cool to see that mixed with the flood introduction. For example, you’re doing your normal thing and clear out a banished hideout. When you walk back through the hideout to the entrance to leave, you notice that the bodies are gone. Not despawned, the guns are still there and the blood stains are there. They’re just gone. And when you leave the hideout, you no longer hear the wildlife of the ring. It’s just quiet. Completely quiet.
Can the scp fondation contain the flood
How do they contain anything tbh
Simple they where created by the elder gods of bungie so they should return
I pray every night so that we might see chief and arby back to back fighting flood again
Holy yes
I feel the best way to bring back the flood while calling back to CE could be in either a main mission or side mission where you have to go find a missing squad of marines. You go into a forerunner facility and the mission goes as normal, and you can see the squad of marines fighting the banished from a high vantage point. You make your way down to them, but when you get there, everyone is gone, leaving nothing but pools of blood. After some time exploring the room, you start the hear the telltale sounds of the flood, and when this realization sets in, they start bursting through the doors
