Paul Walter Hauser joins us this week to share how he mentally prepares for his transformative character roles in projects like Richard Jewell and Blackbird, while also being present, hilarious, and able to do a mean Gilbert Gottfried impression. Paul opens on the dualities he’s faced throughout his life and how he’s been able to rewrite his narrative of destructive self-talk. His performance in Blackbird was so incredible. So unsettling, so unnerving, so malevolent, yet he made you almost feel sympathetic at some points. It was an incredible show. Had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, the story is so good. And he's 100 percent right, Edgerton gave as good as he got with his performance. Watching them bounce off each other with the dialogue was a true treat. Major props to you, Paul. I was blown away by your performance.
I am on Episode 3 and I am already blown away and just googled him. He is electrifying!! Can't wait to watch the rest of series ❤

His performance just sucked me in and I couldn’t look away. I’d put it up there with Cameron Britton’s Edmund Kemper from Mindhunter and Evan Peters’ Dahmer.
I've only seen Paul in two things thus far. Richard Jewel and Black Bird. And I loved his performance in both. I think there are some similarities, as we kind of feel for both characters (at least at some point) that they're a little bit naive and maybe not the brightest. And that does, like they say here, in the early stages, we know he's a despicable guy but some instinctual part of us almost feels sorry for the guy.
Anyway great show, watched it in two sittings. Egerton is amazing too. Top notch acting from the both of them.
