I am a big fan of the Shimano Ocea Jigger reels. I currently have a 4000HG with PE line on it. I used this in Guam to drop 1,000 to 1,300 feet and catch Monchong and other bottom dwellers. I have had the 3000, and the 2000NR. My favorite is the one you have and the F Custom. It fits in the hand nicely. The 3000 can reach to deeper depths and fits the hand nicely. I only have the 4000 as that was the only one the tackle store in Guam had at the time. I unfortunately tossed my 3000 into the water and lost it :(. Be careful casting heavy jigs with it. If you cast a heavy jig and the handle moves it will engage the spool and can yank it out of your hand. That is how I lost mine. It was a 450g jig. So keep a good grip on the rod if casting. The Ocea Jigger is so powerful and smooth. I recently bought a Saltiga 35JH which is very comparable to the Ocea Jigger. Best place to buy them is Ebay from Japan with free shipping. You can find great deals. There is nothing like jigging and feeling your jig stop and then the tug. Tricking a fish with a jig is so much fun. Kahala are super fun for the fight that they put up even if you have to release them due to the worm situation. Thanks for sharing all the videos. I use your wire rig set up and really like it. Caught a 36lb Ono on one recently on the PA12. Tight lines!!!!

Thanks for pointing that out! I’ll be extra careful ahahaha
I’m glad you found the rig useful!
Very, very awesome!
Another awesome video with lots of hook-ups but I think we are going to have to start calling you the Kahala king. LOL. That last one was massive.
They are fun on that jig rod! But yeah hoping to branch out what I can catch with it
Thanks for the video.
Please let us know more about your set up, rod, reel model, and what size line you use?
It’s a 2000 Ocea Jigger F custom paired with a oceans legacy rod. I have 30lb braid to a 50lb leader
Want to get into it. What’s a decent reel to get?
I love my Ocea Jigger
