  • We are a retired couple traveling Idaho on our ATV.I'm a retired self employed truck driver and my wife after 38 years at the U of I just retired. Spent most our lives in North Idaho and maybe we have seen 5% of Idaho, so now our Adventures begin. This is our first video and hopefully they will get a lot better as time goes by...!!!

Sitting here watching this, I assume you had 2 cameras. Regardless, that's something else... Really cool country, cool equipment. Sounds like you have Yoshimura exhaust - sounds really deep and throaty! But, the farther you kept going, and reporting your fuel consumption, a couple things going through my mind.....
You had a small reserve in the Can-Am, maybe .5 gallon. You brought 2 spare gallons.... The last thing you needed was to run out, and you were 2 miles away from the truck..... Granted, you mowed some snow over, but I'd hate to see you keel over dead, because you ran out of gas, 2 miles away. And have to carry fuel back, that gets heavy.... Great video, great gear!

Got the Yoshimura slip on exhaust but sure is a lot louder than I like. Going to put original back on when I put the tires back on as we just trail ride mostly here in North Idaho. The Apache tracks are really something, no place that it will not go, or at least no place that I want to go anyway 🤣

compared to tires, how much more fuel does it burn with the tracks?

Just about twice as much on the 1000R. Can get about 80 miles with tires on and only 40 miles to the tank in deep snow ❄
