This is a great video. As a long time trail runner, hiker, backpacker, I can 100% support all the great advice given in this video. I would add that on recover days. Look to try some yoga style stretching. This can be a huge help with any issues resulting from the impacts of speed walking or running.
Thanks, glad you like it! Totally agree about Yoga stretches. We’ll be doing something both on strength & conditioning & stretches etc in the future. Cheers for mentioning it! Roger
I found that trail running shoes work well for me and the terrain I can get to easily for longer walks. Since you showed La Sportiva in the video, I'll be bold and name the brand - have their Akashas, and as a boot for longer/winter hikes the Raptors(?, not sure about the name) as well; I do have a wide forefoot in case it helps anyone, but I take their insole out for my orthotics, and I size up half a size (in most shoes, not just sportswear).
Sportivas are great, perfect Sport Walking shoes - Akashas, our No.1 🙂 Not used Raptors but heard great things about them. Lycans are also superb trail shoes for mid distance. Good to meet another Sportiva fan!
Another superb video. I especially enjoyed/needed the advice about the importance of "getting comfortable with the uncomfortable", aka going for a walk in the rain or less than desirable conditions. The timing of this video is perfect. 😊
Thank you for this video 🙏🏽
