Chants for socks, chants for vegan chocolate. Chants for fruits and veggies. I about died laughing. What a fantastically excited group of fans. And that’s one of the things that has been so much fun to watch. Fans of every team in every city. Green Bay, Las Vegas, SF, Indy…KC, Miami. Every team represents in every city. Beautiful.
I was just impressed when at the DC event I started a Fuck Dan Snyder chant, but Charlotte got people chanting for everything.
Considering that one of the biggest wrestling personalities calls Charlotte home, I'm not surprised about the chanting.

KEEP POUNDING, BABY! As a forever Panthers fan and long-time subscriber, the one thing I noticed about this video was that a lot of the fans who turned out to support you weren't Panthers fans. It's actually pretty common nowadays, or at least since Cam got injured, that our stadium, and your event, were a hotbed of away fans. But what you'll notice is that almost none of them have a bad word to say about Charlotte or the Panthers.
We're a team that so many can get behind, a spirit that can't be denied when you look at us die-hards, and a city that desperately needs some wins, and we see that coming with the new head coach, quarterback, and frankly, an owner that has done a complete 180 in terms of public perception. Hopefully, as his tenure goes on, and David Tepper gets that new stadium/renovation that he's wanted, he'll take a page from the Arthur Smith book.
Thanks for giving the Carolinas this much love. It's rare.
Oh, and Tom, if you're reading this, I've been watching this whole series, hearing you talk about how your voice as a small UA-cam creator has grown to a magnitude you don't fully understand or feel you deserve, but that you're grateful all the way. I wouldn't be doing my job right on UA-cam if I didn't plug someone who is currently in the same position you're in right now, Panther Nation Podcast (PNP). They're right at 20k subs, which is a lot, but it's a whole lot less than they deserve.
Rashad (one half of PNP) came out to that fan event and I'm not sure if you got a chance to chat with him, but he's an incredible voice for sports UA-cam and everyone should know about their content. Especially if you want to learn more about the Panthers. @PantherNationPodcast

there are a ton of transplants, like myself (from Philly), in North Carolina, so I wasn't surprised to see it. There is an Eagles bar in Charlotte that I've been to & I know there's a Steelers bar as well.
The Carolina Panthers are often overlooked by the major sports networks. I don't know why. Maybe if circumstances were different, such as being in the NFC East where they truly belong, the public spotlight would give the team more proper recognition.
The most surprising thing here is how energetic the individuals at the Hopfly Brewing Company were in showing up; was everyone there hopped up on Red Bull?
Also, I'd be happy too if I was weary of traveling and needed a Cinnabon Classic Roll. I say this because eating one is more preferred to managing one, even in Omaha, Nebraska.

This is going to be a fantastic series to watch all at once when all of the episodes are out. Seeing the evolution of the journey in real time has been incredible.

Doing that now. I’m a New Zealander living in Japan who has a moderate interest in the NFL, but Tom Grossi’s content has really helped make so much of it more accessible. His “If the NFL was scripted” series was hysterically funny. That and this series give me some insight into the culture of the teams and cities. Without it, I just pick teams from their uniforms.
That was a special night. The love and energy there was through the roof! Can't remember the last time I smiled, clapped and cheered so much in a single night

I've been a Panthers fan ever since I was a little kid. Definitely helps when you inherit the fandom from your family lol. I'm upset that I missed you Tom, but my freshman orientation went swell over at Western Carolina University. I hope to catch you on another day Tom. Best of luck my guy.

Sam also gave us our "keep pounding" moto ...when he was diagnosed with cancer someone asked him what he was gonna do..Sam replied " you know me..I'm gonna just keep pounding" . And that's us..we never give up..we never buckle..we just keep pounding

Yeah, Sam is pretty much the backbone of our team's history. He is the reason why the words "Keep Pounding" is out motto. It's part of the speech he gave the team even after having been diagnosed with cancer. He just kept right on doing what he loved and never giving up. He acutally was given about 3 months or so to live and ended up living for 1 year and 8 months instead. He was an amazing man that much is for sure.

Thanks for mentioning that! In a lot of ways this series is similar to Ryan’s penny series in the sheer scale of the journey so it’s cool to see Ryan helping out with the cause.

Charlotte has the nicest people you ever want to meet. My husband and I love going there. Charlotte outbid Atlanta for the NASCAR HOF, no hard feelings, gives a reason to go stay for a long weekend. There are some excellent art museums and you can tour historical Charlotte by foot, or open cart. There are so many excellent restaurants of course but the main appeal is how nice everyone is. Great job Tom and Johnny.

As sad as I am that you didn’t get to see the other half of Carolina where I’m from(South Carolina), I’m glad you had an awesome time in Charlotte, truly the epicenter of the Carolinas.
OMG I just realized. If Stenhouse was in the area because of the off week for the cup series. The crossover would have been glorious.
Couldn't hit this up because of work, but Charlotte (and the Carolinas as a whole - Charleston represent) is underrated as hell - great city, great food, great people, and I knew they were gonna show out for this.
I'm a Colts fan, but having been around Panther fans all my life, people outside of here have no idea how much this team means to SC. It's in the name - Carolina Panthers. Not the Charlotte Panthers, not the North Carolina Panthers, the CAROLINA Panthers. This is the closest to a major pro sports club the state of South Carolina has, and they love the shit out of it. Always gonna have love for the Panthers as a result of that... and also because Cam Newton's my favorite football player ever, regardless of team.
There are the Carolina Hurricanes as well.
