- Hi, here’s a little introduction video to the channel, also showing part of the control centre an angle previously unshown. As always I’ve free-styled the voiceover but it gets the message across 😆
A few extra details to anyone readingIt’s a loft layout measuring 3x3.6m 4 loops with several small sidings
DCC Peco code 100 track
Z21 controller with iPad and wireless maid control.
14 Cobalt digital point motors and 18 or so more still required! 😫 (currently seeps)
A mixture of led lighting.
I run the old z21 software on an ipad 3 as firstly the iPad is too old to run the new but I actually prefer the point control on the old software can understand why they didn’t keep that option on the new one?
I’m a complete beginner and making it up as I go so don’t expect full on accuracy, in fact some of it is utter madness. I laid the first piece of track Dec 2022 so still got a long way to go.
I have a small amount of rolling stock and 10 locos, all but 1 is DCC Sound fitted. A mixture of Bachmann, Accurascale, Cavalex and the Hornby HST with upgraded mega bass speakers front and rear. Several Bachmann Scenecraft items as I got a bit of an addiction for buying them at one stage, several Metcalfe kits and then loads of scratch built items.
Finally, I’m quite impatient so parts of the layout were rushed to get away from plain wooden boards so will be replacing and improving as and when.
Thanks for visiting, and if you like what you see so far take a look - the channel is only two months old, despite showing as years old, (I remaned an old unused account) so if you like what tou see thumbs up, shares and subscribing would really help the chammel out.
And lastly despite me sounding like an angry yorkshireman I’m actually quite happy I just sound angry the way i talk 🤣🤣🤣
Cheers
Dave
If you have been doing your layout for the last 15 months. Hats of to you. Great layout. Luv the jokes and banter. Please keep it up. As for ladder man. Give him a write warning. Get up the bloody ladder and fix the light. Or it's of to the job centre. Don't mess about with him.
More of the same please Dave. You do get some decent camera angles 👍
For a complete beginner your work is outstanding. Heck, it would even be considered good for someone who had modelled for years!
One of my favourite channels, allways look forward to the latest video. Starting my new layout soon in the garage, 20ft by 8ft of space and it’s all MIIIIINE!!!! First thing I’m buying is a fridge for beer 😂👍
Ha ha......Great channel......bit of this n that while running trains! Mint,....and from up north 👍
Having fun while playing trains, the hobby needs more of this. Top channel!
😂 brilliant angles. Brilliant banter. Quickly becoming a firm favourite 🤩
Looking at trains running, with great shots on the camera? YES!! Turn the mute button on? Ah NO!! I might miss an incident! or heavens above, a chance at a giggle. channels Definitely a firm fav Dave..
Every thing about your videos are excellent and funny 🤣
The modelling is brilliant and the banter is uplifting compared to a lot of other videos 👍
Awesome, love the banter, love the unique camera angles, love the little back stories, just keep em coming.
Agree 100% on the way to shoot the video :) Really puts me off watching from high above. One needs to go down to scale ground level to do this. Sadly, with N Gauge, it is so much harder but doable :)
A bit of laiking about eh? As others have mentioned becoming a firm favourite, even inspired me to get a move on with my own layout.
This is fast becoming one of my favourite channels, light hearted and entertaining yet an incredible attention to detail in such a short space of time, keep up the good work Dave! 😃👍 cheers Darrell
Keep it up mate, the content is spot on, the voiceover is brilliant and you’re right when you say it’s all about toy trains! Brilliant 😊
I staggers me every time I watch one of your videos, how much you have created in such a short time. I’m retired, so have plenty of time, but starting from now, I doubt I will progress as quickly as you have. Keep up the good work. A fellow Yorkshireman. Also a happy one!
Thing is I rushed a few bits and made some silly errors in doing so, but I didn’t know what I was doing and pretty much as just learning as I go! Cheers 👍
What a Great into, Great camera angles. You're a Madman.... My mute button is Broken 😢😂😅
Haha I was only thinking the other day - intros a bit kak but I’ll take your comment as it’s an acceptable intro 👍
What you've achieved in fifteen months is impressive. I like the backscene, it gives a real sense of depth. I've subscribed.
Thanks David 👍 really appreciate the comment and the sub 👍
excellent and honest intro to your great channel mate, subs are climbing your doing a cracking job😁
We enjoy your waffling banter Dave, keep it coming. Trouble is Dave, you really need to be more serious with your modelling. For instance, as my grandson pointed out we haven't seen one of your trains transporting custard, and not one wagon with Dylington Custard Company on the side honesty Dave get a grip. Loving the channel, and you're doing a great job with the layout...cheers, James 😁👍
Just subbed and I am loving mix of humour and some great running shots - brilliant👍
Keep em coming mate, they're proper mint.
Cheers 👍👍
Nice intro Dave. I like your attitude and the way you express yourself. It is very refreshing. I can't work out your accent, it sounds Yorkshire with a bit of Staffordshire thrown in.
This was a while ago you doing the back catalogue 😆 just Yorkshire, mind you I don’t know what Staffordshire sounds like so who knows 🤣👍
Looks and sounds fantastic ,by sounds I mean you you have great banter and especially the role play with your locos and figures especially security
I have only just found your channel but I’m sure you will build up a great following in quick time as it’s so funny
Maybe because I lived over in Barnsley and Sheffield that I get a lot of your humor I don’t know but I like it
I currently live in Blackpool and have two layouts one in the double garage 20x18 on three levels going down to basically the floor and then up to a meter and a half
And another in my loft that I have been doing for about four or five weeks
And your videos have given me a great I separation I think the level of modelling is great and apart from the rivit brigade I think most would agree
It’s great Dave
It should of said insperation
Cheers pal, yeah there’s a few bits to improve when I can. The big tunnel is first on the improvements list as it really bugs me. I need to tone down the awful rust weathering on the girder bridge and then look to improve that at some point.
Your layout sounds great and massive 👍
Thanks for watching and making the effort to comment 👍👍
lol just subscribed
Welcome 😃👍
Hi Dave, I do love your camera angles and the quality of your filming, as you say it gives the model railway a realistic look. Can I ask what camera and mic do you use? Cheers Mark
It’s all bodged together with an iPhone 13 Pro Mark. The commentary got a bit muffled at one point on this as I was holding the phone a bit lazy. I’ll get a new phone at some point they should be even better now this one’s a few years old 👍
