i feel i should mention: you can hurt "flare dancers" with Bombs, or at least put their fire out. i like to do that to the first one. (and use the Hammer on the second one) also, a couple if tricks i found out about Ganondorf: -when he charges up his more powerful attack, if you're quick, you can interrupt him with a Light arrow. -there are Hearts in pots down below, and falling down won't restart the fight. (unlike A Link to the Past) -you can not only use the Hookshot to get back up quickly, you can pull yourself to HIM when he's stunned from a Light Arrow!
Since Shadow Link is *technically* not a different person, one could argue Link used a sword in this playthrough, so you better go learn to kill Shadow Link instantly. /s
I have a tip for the future there is a deku scrub selling deku stick upgrades in tbe lost woods next to the bridge for 60 rupees and it fills up your deku sticks so you can get 20 for 60 rupees without having to buy them at the shop
The Stalfos revive quickly after the sequence of a fairy reviving you, because although it does not take long and freezes the elements of the game, it actually increases the game time in the background a lot longer than the fairy reviving sequence actually takes
Bruh I'm doing a swordless OoT3D run and you just saved me on the dead hand fight, I just assumed nothing worked and was starting to think the run was dead. Thank you!
You literally don't need the Kokiri sword at all, because you could fairy dive using a deku stick into the underwater tunnel leading to Zora's river...
This is months after the fact, but not jump slashing with the sticks is rather grating to watch when they start out being so vital. Dark Link with Din's Fire is overkill, too. Untargeted Deku Nuts thrown in his general direction freeze him like the Stalfos and make the encounter super trivial even without a sword. 2nd Ganon doesn't require arrows or magic at all. You can walk between his legs and smack his tail with good timing. Did it on Sealed Palace just recently. There are other issues but I'm wondering about just doing this run myself and adding some other form of challenge to it. Sad to say I'll get maybe a dozen viewers at most just like 3 hearts on Master Quest or any number of other challenges. But hey, persistence is a thing.
I explain in the video that in the 3DS version of the game (the one I'm playing) the Deku stick damage was heavily normalized so Jump slashes don't do more damage. The rest of your strategy changes are fine but mine were also fine. It's a silly video no need to take it so seriously.
The only way to damage Ganondorf in Twilight Princess in the 3rd and 4th Phase is with the Master Sword, he doesnt take any collision from the Ordon Sword and I shot all of my 100 Arrows at him, while they have collision and make him moaning in pain, they dont do any danage to him, so if you wanna play it the casual way, then definitely no.
There's definitely a few optimizations you could use during your run. Such as using jump slashes instead of deku stick swings. They deal 2x damage. And for the Iron Knuckles, I recommend bombs/bombchus. They let you attack from a safe range. Overall, nice work with it!
Technically speaking, if the Master Sword is a time machine, wouldn't that mean it would have been okay to use throughout the entire adult section? I mean, It's a time machine, not a sword, so that means it's okay to use... Right?
This might just be for the original version of Ocarina of time on the switch, but Bongo Bongo can be damaged by the hookshot. I defeated Bongo Bongo using only the hookshot on my first playthrough.
Interesting to see the 3DS version for a change. Also I believe you can summon Deadhand from the ground by bombing the correct spot on the floor (which you can see with the Lens of Truth in the second fight). I might be mistaken though.
Fun Fact: You can still do jump slashes with Deku Sticks. Since Deku Sticks do the same amount of damage as the Master Sword, this is the ideal way to deal damage. It only takes three jump slashes to take down most of the early bosses.
Incorrect. I explain this IN the video. The jump slash for Deku Sticks was nerfed in OoT 3D so they do the same damage whether it's a jump slash or a normal slash.
Was thinking this would of been without the master sword in the thumbnail. Felt misleading there, but still did no sword throughout. Was hopeful one of these vids would be different like that
