CATHAY PACIFIC Melbourne to London | Business and First Class | Food Review 2023

- Опубліковано 8 лип 2024
- This is the biggest and longest video I've ever made. Heck, this is actually the LONGEST travel day I've ever had.
- Melbourne Airport
- Cathay Pacific Business Class Melbourne to Hong Kong
- Hong Kong Airport (The Wing Business Class / First Class, The Centurion Lounge, The Haven, The Cabana)
- Cathay Pacific First Class Hong Kong to Paris
- Eurostar Standard Premiere Paris to London
I'm exhausted just reading this back.
As an aviation and rail enthusiast, I deliberately chose this routing to maximise my time on flights, airports, railway stations and train. That's what I originally planned all those months back. However, after completing this marathon of a travel day, I will NEVER DO IT AGAIN.
I won't deny that flying in business and first classes and having access to premium lounges really made it much easier. However, I can't sleep on planes so this made this journey very arduous.
How long do you think this trip took in total? Leave a comment below before the video ends.

Based in Melbourne, Australia, I watch too much TV, eat and drink too much to be a productive member of society. I have an insatiable craving to taste, smell and enjoy everything life has in store for me.
I have been bitten by the wanderlust bug and find nothing more thrilling than packing my bag and jumping on a plane to any far flung destination.

LOL I say a LOT of things that I can't recall! HAHAHA
What an amazing woman.
Wonton at Cathay HK lounge cannot be beaten 😊
Alas I won't be flying with CX on my next flights! I am gutted but am glad to be experiencing more Star Alliance and One World airlines.

Bish, did I just hear ‘you could gum this?’
You’ve made my week. Xx
Ex Syd hkg lhr edn ist doh (ooops) dps for 6 weeks. Snazzy. I’ll have a bubbles for you both.
Extra snaps for the caviar being ‘cut’. lol. Xxx
LOL yeah, I vaguely recall actually saying that! haha
Please have plenty of bubbles for me. I am immensely jealous. When do you depart?
Yes, everyone, this video is just as long as it took me to get to London LOL
What a journey Tim! The food looked and sounded amazing, I want to try all of it
It really was such an amazing journey. Food features very prominently on all my travels. For me, I travel to eat and learn about culture through a nation's cuisine.
I am absolutely EXTREMELY envious about ALL THAT FOOD! And thanks for that special mention too! And yes, I actually feel your exhaustion and I know you know what I mean. I am back home now nursing a cold, of all things. I love fish maw. I have never ever had caviar in my life! Hope to come across a great PCL fare on CX so I can get myself on one. CX does Cantonese food very well, well they have to! I thought my 31.5 hr journey BKK MEL was intense, but you've managed to surpass that. HAHAHAHA... Good lord that pre-landing porridge is immense. Sheesh... How are you even still alive after arrival in London?! Glad to finally complete this video.
You will definitely have to try Caviar. It is one of the true wonders of life. It is one of my favourite things. CX's caviar is far superior than that of the Centurion lounge. I would take 31.5hrs over 56hrs any day. Until I did it, I really thought it would be a breeze. Especially considering I was in business and first class. Alas, not being able to sleep really took it out of me. If I could have slept a little more I suspect I would have weathered the journey a little better. Even though the journey took 56 hours, I had to stay up a further 8hrs after to ensure I re-synched to the local time zone.
What an amazing trip
Truly amazing!
Another brilliant review! You are braver than me, to travel such a long time. I would have booked a night somewhere along the way! I am brave about some things, but not being in the air for long periods. I suppose being in First helped to some extent. Even if you were not able to sleep, the space in the seat must make some different. And the cuisine looked extraordinary! Thank you for another epic video! PS: My longest is about thirty hours, in economy class, when a connection in Singapore was delayed by Qantas. But I was put up in a comfortable hotel which made it easier.
Thank YOU so much, Daniel. I cannot overstate enough the amazing service provided by Cathay. It's my first time flying with them and after this flight, it definitely won't be the last. I've flown with many other airlines in premium classes but CX elevated the soft product to another level. You are a far braver and stronger person than I. I struggle to do 8hrs to Malaysia in Economy let alone further afield. Hmm...do you think that's my next challenge? To try an international flight in economy? You are absolutely right, even though I practically didn't sleep, the space and service really made it much more palatable.
@@TimEatsandTravels My first overseas trip was to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific. Influenced by the brilliant ads they ran on TV in the 1970s. Michael York appeared in some of them. So evocative!
Tim, your videos are always entertaining. If you and your partner are ever in Woolies on a Sunday, please stop by the balery department and I will be there to say hi. As always stay humble, stay safe and stay beautiful ❤️💙🧡💜
Ohhh absolutely! Very often shopping on a Sunday. Thank you so much for watching and the chat during the premiere of this video.
@@TimEatsandTravels No worries, it was very enjoyable and especially learning about all the different foods. You've tickled my tastebuds LOL
You clearly love air travel as that is one grueling trip, even if in business and first
Now you understand what I've been telling you about!
Hey Tim, I'm guessing 30 plus hours, which is a very long time. The food looks amazing.
Erika from sunny Perth 😎
30 hours would have been a breeze! Almost double that guess. haha
@TimEatsandTravels well at least you ate well!! Nothing worse than no real meals whilst travelling and surviving on snack type meals
Hi Tim, I will fly Cathay soon in December not sure that can I go in First class lounge in HK? my ticket is business.
definition of glutton = Tim. 😉
HAHAHA Yes, That is totally me! LOL
Hey Tim, going back to your comment of combining travel, foodie and travel agent, to become an agent its a Cert III in travel at Tafe from the info I found on Google.
Erika from sunny Perth 😎
OHHHH thanks for checking up. I'll definitely have to look into it further. It would be so cool to do this all the time!
