Um no. Literally makes no sense that they didnt share their appitizers and you didnt get drinks, yet they expected you to split the bill evenly with them. NOPE, that made me so mad. I would have said something and if that ended the friendship then bye lol

Re the TS Topic - She never received a formal apology from Kim so she absolutely has the right to still bring up old drama because KK goes about her life as if nothing has happened (referenced in the song.) and Taylor is left having to reinvent herself to save her career (and come back stronger than ever).
Also Matty Healy wasn't exactly a situationship. They have been really close friends for over a decade and did date in the past. He's always been known to her as the one who got away and were finally able to try dating once their relationship status lined up. When you listen to several lyrics she referenced them talking about getting married and having kids and then he ghosted her. So not only did she lose someone who she fell in love with but she also lost her best friend. It makes total sense that her break up with Matty Healy was much harder than Joe because her relationship with Joe has been dying for years.
Natalie, you would've loved my trip to Japan last week. My and my friends were waking up at 6am and hitting shrines and temples before anyone else was there, and we ate dinner at 5-6pm, had a beer and went to bed. I take full advantage of my trips!

Honestly, white people are a lot more likely to not split and only pay for their own stuff. That is the most common format. I have never been in a situation with white people where they have not wanted to share food and wanted to split the check when they ordered way more.

Going out to eat I never do let’s all pay the same.
1. I order one drink when they order two or more
2. Not paying $4-$6 for a share appetizer that I got a small bite of something or didn’t eat
When I get an appetizer, I say “I will pay for this appetizer (like nachos) and it’s to share”
I have very mixed feelings on dinner splitting. Feel like in my life there's been a lot of people that rush to pay for the whole thing when you're out with them and it makes me super uncomfortable - feels like a power and control move. I also feel like I don't really want to pay for the whole thing myself because I am trying to be responsible and budget, I also feel very awkward about them doing it since why should they pay for my stuff. The splittong sometimes is uncomfortable too because people don't often have the exact same attitude to food and drinks so how can you really do it if someone had one cheap main and someone is having expesive main plus starter/dessert and drinks. My view is that people should stop forcing their preference on others and try and be empathetic

I still am bitter about a friends birthday party where everyone said to split the bill and I only had my meal and one drink... i ended up paying triple what I ordered... I am down for splitting when you can clearly see what was ordered was shared and similar to everyone at the table.
I’d be so mad. It’s just them wanting their stuff for cheaper and making you chip in for it. If they don’t have money for all their drinks and stuff they should not be indulging. SO frustrating!
The restaurant thing has happened to me and always with people I don't know very well. I usually get itemized bills with my friends because I'm a picky eater and on a budget (postgrad life). But when I split, we all make sure that everyone has shared food so that it's fair.

I was older than my ex in high school. I once asked him, "If you dated someone from your grade, who would it be?" (a toxic question to ask, I know, but I was 17.) He answered with one girl, and I said, "Really? I could see you with [different girl]." He scrunched up his nose and thought my answer was weird. He's now married to and has kids with that girl.

Regarding dinner etiquette: In my circle it is pretty normal to order personal appetizers. But that’s because I’m a vegetarian and already know I won’t be sharing what most people order. However, I 100% am all about only paying for my food. Heck no I will not be splitting dinner 6 ways. Especially when my meal is the cheapest. Absolutely not.
Regarding Taylor Swift: the phone call was like 7 years ago not 15. Lol. Regardless, PTSD doesn’t have a time limit. I have ptsd from something a manger did to me 15+ years ago. And to this day I get upset about it. I wish I could see her again and blast her for all the things I was too afraid to say back then. And I assume it’s the same with Taylor Swift. Kim K is one of the most famous people in the world. And the way her following went after Taylor really tore her down. She moved to another country and went in exile. I’m sure she has written several other songs over the years about Kim but has been too afraid to release them, worried her past will repeat itself, and that the haters will push her into exile again. But now that she is queen B herself, she probably finally had the guts to release something about Kim (but at the same time she still played it really safe. I wish it was a more direct diss track. Instead she actually thanks Kim for bullying her. Lol. Come on girl, you don’t mean that 😂)

The appetizers should be shared if the check is being split evenly.
I’ve been in a situation where I went to a small baby shower dinner with most people I don’t even know. For the record I do not drink alcohol and everyone at the table did, even the pregnant lady had a glass of wine 🍷 They ordered multiple wine bottles and other alcoholic drinks and they wanted the check to be split equally. It wasn’t fair for me but I didn’t want to make it a big deal and paid but I felt some type of way. 🤷🏻♀️

Dinner etiquette is such a huge thing but I feel like the lines are easily blurred! How dare they not sure their appetizers!! But I am living, breathing proof that sometimes going on trips with your friends and not having the same mindset about money, definitely causes riffs platonic relationships. I am also Deepti in that I am very financially generous and love to cover my friends when they can’t afford something, which does not align with going on trips with people who do not have the same money mindset.

My group of friends, we all share apps and one person would usually pay for everything and I just venmo them what I ordered.

I never get appetizer. I always get the main meal first plus a dessert lol but I don’t like dividing up the bill. I like paying for myself
I’ve never seen people order apps and not share them at a group dinner. Even if I wanted to keep mine, which of course I do sometimes, I understand it’s just part of the price of admission for eating out with people. And then to let some of it go to waste instead of offering it to other people is foul. My friends/family won’t even start eating until everyone who ordered food has food. The sheer lack of consideration for other people is frankly crazy. I’ve also not been to a dinner wherein someone didn’t call out that another person in the group only had a salad or whatever when splitting the bill evenly came up. Life’s too short to dine with people with shit manners.

But you yourself said you didn't know the people at the table. I wouldn't be keen to share my appetizers with people I didn't know well. And often there is something I really want on the menu. But when you share appetizers, I've often been in a position where I didn't even get to taste what I specifically wanted because it was finished. Or its finished by the time I want more. I want my own appetizer.
