The University of Notre Dame Folk Choir singing David Haas' "Now We Remain" at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.
Something so beautiful seeing so many people receiving the Body and Blood of Christ.

Christ is Lord
At 3.36 what is wrong with that woman?
Yeah, I just noticed that too. I wondered if she went up for a Blessing and there misunderstanding? I think the Priest says something to her and, as you can see, she walks off shaking her head. I hope she is okay.
Fear and looked like a panic attack. A woman who deserves our compassion and prayers. It is one of the reasons I dislike camera's set on those receiving communion from this angle.
We can only have compassion as Jesus would say and do. Diagnosis of mental illness should be left to medical doctor or psychiatrist. It is better to reflect on oneself and not be distracted and to be in thanksgiving for what we are about to receive, the body, blood, soul and divinity of our Lord Jeaus Christ during the Holy Mass.
I noticed that the Extraordinary Minister attempted to bless people on two different occasions (0:32 is one of them), which is not permitted since he is not a priest; he can't bless anyone
The grace of our Baptism enables all of us to offer God's blessing in the name of Christ. Basic Catholic theology. At Confirmation, each of us was anointed to share in the roles of Christ as priest, prophet, and king,
What he said ^^
By our baptism we are profets, priests and kings.
NOVUS ORDITES getting nothing
it is not proper to bless oneself, bow or genuflect upon receiving communion. such moves reflect false piety and is not taught by the church. it screams, "look at me everyone. I am so holy."
That is what you are required to do when you receive Holy Communion!! It is a sign of disrespect if you do not!!
@@joebrungardt2419 nothing could be more untrue. I never do anything like that when I receive communion. That is not required by any body representiing the Church In fact, we were told speciifically by our pastor not to do those made up rituals. The pinacle of what you are doing is right in your hand receiving the body of Christ is all that matters. You are there to receive him not compete with him.
James Tidwell why wouldn’t or shouldn’t we bow and kneel in front of Jesus’s literal body? We bow to show respect.
“Man made ritual”. That’s such a Protestant answer to something you don’t agree with. I would recommend you look up how the mass was traditionally celebrated before saying that.
I receive communion in my hand too but I’m trying to change that as I’m starting to understand more what piece of bread really is.
@@tiff688 1378 Worship of the Eucharist. In the liturgy of the Mass we express our faith in the real presence of Christ under the species of bread and wine by, among other ways, genuflecting or bowing deeply as a sign of adoration of the Lord.
Why shouldn't we assume?
@@jamestidwell4989 A: Our correspondent refers to the General Instruction of the Roman Missal, No. 160, which we quote in full along with the number which follows it:
"When receiving Holy Communion, the communicant bows his or her head before the Sacrament as a gesture of reverence and receives the Body of the Lord from the minister. The consecrated host may be received either on the tongue or in the hand, at the discretion of each communicant. When Holy Communion is received under both kinds, the sign of reverence is also made before receiving the Precious Blood."
