We had to draw the error bar graph about drug delivery. This video is sooo helpful. Thanks.

It took a whole 8 minutes to get to the part that I needed, but thanks lol

Came for the banging ska intro, stayed for the excel tutorial.

make it short: 9:06, yes excel asks for positive and negative range value, which was everything than clear, that's why we watched this video.

Hello sir just need a little help.
I want to display the value of standard deviations on each confidence interval plot.
    How to do that?

Hi, so useful. How would I change the x axis back to the different variable labels e.g. brand A, B, C, D. It changes it to the label 1

Hi, one way to do this (and I'm sure there is a better way to manipulate the x axis variables) is to highlight the graph, select the Chart Design tab up top, then select Add Chart Element, and then go to Legends to choose which legend you would like. Maybe someone else can comment on how to revert the 1 back to ABCD, but I'm not seeing how to do it. Hope this helps.

Yeah thankyou! I did this, added the legend and just deleted the 1 :)

So i have data, but its not a full table of data points. We did a lab and they provided us with the mean of two different test, the standard deviation of the 2 tests, the Upper and lower limits of 95% CI of the 2 tests and the correlation of the 2 tests. Im trying to make a standard error plot or a box plot with just the standard error bars, and I can't find anything to help

I thought the confidence interval was supposed to be the mean plus and minus the margin of error (1.96*Standard Error) to get the upper and lower limits? How did you come about multiplying the standard error by 2 to get the confidence interval?

I made this video for my AP Biology students and the formula in the College Board curriculum is +\- SE * 2 about the mean to get the 95% confidence interval. You are correct that +\- 1.96 SE is more accurate.

@@TheCrombie78 , thank you for the video! I guess I have the same question - where is the mean here? Why just 2*SE (or 1.96*SE) ? Is this a correct way of calculating a confidence interval where the word interval suggests two values? I am confused...

@@nicolekid89 Hi Ciritel, as described in the video, I show how to manually enter the confidence intervals using the custom error bar option. This means that in relation to the mean, the value entered into the custom error bar goes that value above and below the mean. Hope this helps.

is 95% CI 1.96 x SE instead of 2 x SE to be exact? thanks!

    • @TheCrombie78
      @TheCrombie78  2 роки тому +1

Yes, that is correct. However, I teach the AP Biology curriculum which uses 2 x SE, which is also commonly used.
