- After the June 1, 1999 takeover of Conrail by CSX in upstate NY, there was a good mix of oddball power, plenty of standard/spartan cabs, foreign power and a fair share of solid Conrail lash ups.
Clip 1: CSX C40-8 #7601 with a K5H horn and CSX AC60CW #603 head west at Centerport, NY
Clip 2: GP38-2 #2708 with a loud RS5T horn and SD50 #8602 head east at Centerport, NY
Clip 3: Summertime farm scenery in upstate NY, along with the Conrail Safety message still on the building at MP 313.
Clip 4: Conrail SD80MACs 4125 and 4113 along with CSX SD40-2 8388 in an older scheme head east at Centerport, NY
Clip 5: Union Pacific SD40-2T #4800, BN SD40-2 #6821, UP/SP SD40-2T #9346, UP AC44CW #7185, HLGX C36-7Es #6810 and 6822 head westbound at Pump Road.
Clip 6: BNSF C44-9W #4448, BN SD40-2 #7182, BN C30-7 #5582, and Santa Fe GP35u #2824 head east at Pump Road.
Clip 7: CSX SD50 #8590, CSX B36-7 #5888, and CSX AC44CW #295 head east at Pump Road.
Clip 8: CSX C40-9W #9010, Conrail GP40-2 #3365, and CSX C30-7 #7066 head east at Pump Road
Clip 9: CSX B36-7 #5836, CSX B36-7 #5866, and CSX C40-8 #7613 head west at Pump Road.
Clip 10: SOO SD60 #6003 and SOO SD40 #742 head east at Centerport, NY
In these days, Leaser and Foreign power was so common on the CSX, it was very rare to see an all CSX locomotive lashup. This era lasted only 10 years, from 1995 to 2005.
Nice Video! Its always amazing to see the railroads from yesterday and compare them with the railroads of today.

UP 4800: epic lashup.
Between 0:59 and 1:06, if you listen very closely, you can hear the RS3L from the approaching Conrail SD80MAC sounding way off in the distance.

Just found the strangest thing... a picture of the same exact train with the same exact B36-7 in the lead and the same consist.

@@deborahmaciak5692 keep telling yourself that. I love EMD engines and sounds just as much as the next guy but there's a reason railroads keep buying GE's and EMD has almost become a thing of the past.
Were some of these trains even considered rare back then?!
everything gets more rare as time goes on. Someday we'll all be sniffling and crying as we flock to whatever location out in the middle of nowhere to witness the final run of a GEVO on the mainline. Time keeps marching on.

@@djpalmer593 More accurately, Conrail was split up between CSX and Norfolk Southern starting in 1999.
