Hi. I am considering flying on my own and I’m also completely blind. from your experience, would you say using IRA or airport assistance is better? Especially in these post Covid staff shortage times? would you say that it is actually more reliable and easier to use than the airport assistance most of the time? Or would you still recommend me choosing airport assistance over AIRA
I personally think Aira has more advantages, such as not having to use a wheelchair and not having to wait and hope someone shows up if they are short-staffed. But it depends on your personal preference, because it does take more focus and concentration, so in that way it could be more stressful. Good luck.
Sorry. You narrating it just made it sound really messy as it was overlapping a bit. It actually made me feel nervous for you if that makes sense. There must be a better way of recording. A small suggestion. Why not try it somewhere a little less noisy than an airport. Just to show how the volunteer can help without all the extra noise going on.
I appreciate your feedback. This was my first voiceover video, so I'm sure I'll get better with practice. But my aim for this channel is not perfection or having a super polished and professional product. I just want people to learn how an average blind person can live a normal life. The aim of this particular video was not to illustrate the Aira service, but to show people how it's possible to walk through an airport independently, even without any vision. I wish it had been less noisy, but on the other hand, perhaps the crowd added to the accomplishment. I do have other vids that specifically focus on Aira though. Thanks for watching.
