Love the look and styling of a lot of your stuff but never see the HD SportGlide in the list of bikes that you make accessories for. Is the Softail Slim close enough or do you have another suggestion?

Any HD with the 7" headlight can use any 7" LED headlight. You only have to get the proper wire adapter for your bike. I put this same headlight on my heritage.

which is a better light with halo or without halo? does the halo actually provide a benefit to the light/lighting

The halo will not give off enough light to add anything to the main light...it however makes the light look more full..this is a projector style light so that means the LEd is way down in there and projected out of the center..having a halo fills the light and makes it more visible to on coming traffic.
