Unboxing and First Use of the Aoyue 474a++ Desoldering Pump - Is it worth anything?

- A while back, I picked up an electric desoldering iron to replace my manual pump and soldering iron setup, and it's about time to move up in the world. Sure, I wanted a Hakko, but would it be worth it? Decided to use the advantages of Amazon's return policy and extended warranty to pick up an Aoyue 474a desoldering pump, and see how well it works. tl;dw, not bad! This is also not a sponsored video by any stretch of the imagination, just thought I'd share because there isn't a lot of information or reviews outside of Amazon.

Please make a follow-up video in some time, it would be interesting.
I got the Hakko ... both the handversion (fr-301) and the FR-400 (the 300W version)... The handversion is pretty good. Works fairly well. The FR-400 however is damn good imho (and just so you know I also have the JBC 4 tool station with a desoldering tool which is ok but feels a little underpowered to me, it probably works better with the compressor driven vacuum pump and not the standalone vacuum pump that I have).
The FR-301 is the one I was hoping for. Pretty good is definitely better than I was hearing. :)
Wondering how you made out with this desoldering unit..?
Will probably do a follow up later, but surprisingly, it’s been doing great! Hoping to use one from a better brand to compare with.
Framing!
Agreed!
money well wasted :))))
Could be! It hasn’t failed yet, but I feel like I need a few months to know for sure.
This desoldering is a clone of the Hakko 474, gun is identical.
Hope works fine.
