I have to wonder, what would have happened if a team had won with NOTHING on their side of the board, and ended up missing out on a car, (considering the fact that each team was only allowed to play one game whether they won or lost the match and the fact that the games were even interrupted, I would hope that the producers were prepared for the possibility of that happening,. (I also think that Alex should have made an executive decision and allowed the losing child in each game to go to Mr. Goodson's desk and pick up $100 for themself on their way out, like Bill Rafferty did on the last Young People's Week episode of his version of "Card Sharks" (for those of you who do NOT know why he made that decision, it was because of the fact that they were running short of time, and as a result they had warned the players that they might hear a sound, (four buzzes.) if that happened, (which it did) every question from THAT MOMENT ON would be sudden death, meaning the next play of the cards would determine who would win that round, and it was a best 2 out of 3 game match.) (Although Bill told the boy to pick up $200) and not $100, and he DID appreciate that, (obviously) but you could tell he was still more than a little upset.) and considering the fact that the buzzer sounded on the FIRST QUESTION OF THE MATCH, I sincerely think he should've brought the boy back out, and as quickly as possible, told him that he did not feel that even $200 was enough considering the circumstances, and because of that, they would give him the same amount of CASH won by the player playing the "Money Cards" (NOT counting the trip to Hawaii if she won it, how that part of the round worked, was there were ALSO a couple of jokers in the deck, if one of those was found you would have a shot at winning it. (and normally you AUTOMATICALLY got one Joker just for winning the match, but during young people's weeks, the champs actually received TWO of them.)
@@Wheeloffortunefan999 I agree $200 didn't seem like enough, considering how little time was left, I would have just let both of them play the money cards. I'm sure there was some sort of consolation prize had the situation you described happened. It's too bad they couldn't let Diana keep the mini corvette especially since she wanted to give it to her brother for his birthday. ❤
@@marcpower4167 tbh, i really doubt it tbh, I have to assume that Alex would have said so if that HAD been the case (or if the kid who won the toss was somehow lucky enough to make so many matches in a row on their very first turn and their adult teammate then ended up solving the puzzle. (THEN we know there would have been a pretty serious problem for the show, because they almost certainly would not have been allowed to do anything to make it up to the kid or his or her family, besides the obvious verbal apology.) even though I sincerely doubt that the losing kid would have felt any better at all.) (Although I am sure someone from the staff would have had enough of a heart to secretly send the kid like $500 as a way of making it up to them.)
I'm glad the kids were able to be on the show, but good God 50 seconds is enough time to win a car. Come on parents they could do better than this. Is it just me, or was not one car given away during this entire week?
Alex asks pretty little blonde girl her full name, where she lives, and what school she goes to. Any predator in America could have found her very easily. Not cool.
Aw, the kids were so polite and well mannered. Wish they all had won.
Diana - what a sweetheart, grabbing a prize for her brother.
Happy birthday, Big Time, Frances Swaggart VS Kung Fu Panda 🐼🥋🎂

Blythe looked like she had tears in her eyes. Poor cutie
"Look at the good side... you guys have been on national television."
She is trying so hard to be brave on tv. I would have been crying so hard.

The 2nd round car match, that lady could have used some practice. And speed.
Well played though :)
OMG! How do you mess that up?!
Happy birthday 🎂

I believe this was the only Kids Week on this version.
Or so we're led to believe, since most of us haven't even seen half of the entire run yet.
Diana: "Shut up, Alex".
I miss Grizzly Adams.

Correct me if I’m wrong but when the bell rings does that mean time is running out??
This kids week of C.C. has adult supervision for this! Good to know, as accepted.
November 9, 1987
Two days after my first birthday! :-)
@@jmiller297 this was VERY poorly executed. it shoulda been a best 2 outta 3 match each day.
And aired on KPRC - NBC 2 in Houston, TX.

I wonder if she ever forgave her dad.
I miss dish network and buzzer 💥
The inimitable Gene Woods did the announcement at the start.
An excellent announcer-like the legendary Bob Hilton.
@@jimhanold9026 Yes, he was!
Sad neither kid got the mini corvette. Poor boy...all he won was clothes for his mom.
no spoilers!
That bonus round was terrible. Should’ve let the kid play.

Not that the kid would've done any better.
TVLubber Nintendo Edition I’m talking about the second bonus. She went sooooo sloooooooow

Doesn't matter.

Diana would have won the le Baron.
