Green has always been my favorite color! You do not know how excited I was when I saw this video call lol. A couple of our rooms are already done in green, I want to spread it through the whole house!
Yes James Yes! I just did a SW sage room and it ROCKS! and we did a deep SW avocado green ceiling with "West Highland White" trim. Goingg sagey green you won't regret it!
Great color! I said it once, and i'll say it again... SW Conservative Gray is an AWESOME color too! It is around 62 LRV, so very useful in most rooms. It's right in this green/gray group. It looks amazing with wood tones (especially golden oak) and makes whites look brighter (at least to me)., so great in bathrooms. Very clean and fresh, but still a natural feeling.
My daughter wanted a green for her bedroom. She hated evergreen fog because it was too gray so we went with Privilege Green accent wall and OMG I love it!!!! We went with Greek Villa for the rest of the walls.
Can you do an episode on things to keep in mind regarding floor colors and wall colors? E.g., we have this super orangey hardwood floor color, which I hadn't even considered being a color of its own until I tried painting the walls sort of a terra cotta, and it looked so bad I cried lolll. The evergreen fog, and other greenish blueish colors have worked well for it. But I still feel confused sometime trying to decide what to paint walls, with this floor color.
I like when UA-camrs say, "let's jump right in," after a 15 minute-long intro. Does look pretty on the outside of the house. Love the purple shutters! Though those round chairs around that table. I want to chalk paint each of those chairs. Love chairs. Love painting them. Have a great week to you and your team, James. Cheers, Ivy.
I have downsized to a really small home with not a lot of natural light and I know I'm suppose to keep everything light in color but I NEED COLOR in my life. Could I mitigate a bit more color by using a high sheen paint?
I'd love to see some neutral/cool undertone combos with green. I'm planning to renovate my newly bought apartment, and I'd love to use green, but I'm not much of a warm tone person. The evening sun (all my windows face Northwest) is already too much of warmth for my liking. I'd love to hear/read some suggestions! 🙌🏻
I could just kick you. THere I was, happily settled into an all Behr color palette (except where I sneak Gypsy Teal in, but mind your business!) and, now, this! It's a lovely palette. I could absolutely see it working out ever so well in a tiny little shed and being, somehow, excitingly calm. It would feel like living in an outdoor library and the Alamosa Gray tiles from Lowe's would not even give terrible offense by hanging about on the floor without alteration. And, now I am unsettled again. And, for that, I could kick you. Actually, I'm not, because the color palette I came up with includes colors of things I actually own, which would allow for a transition from warm weather /cool weather needs and palettes in a way that would leave me anything but bored. But, I still want to kick you!
I have painted my walls green before. About…2 1/2 years ago. Although the color I went with was called Pale Jade, it was a bit darker than I thought, so I had repainted my walls a Swan White to get light brought back in the room. But…when I do want to paint my walls green again, I’m going with Contented. But I just love all kinds of greens because my two favorite colors are green and gray. With purple being my 3rd favorite.
Green is tough. I own a paint company, and I still struggle with green, especially if it's saturated. I always have luck with Benjamin Moore's Atmospheric.
@@maryanna71701 We would need to be sitting in the same room with a color swatch in order to find a color for you. Even then, it's still difficult. I have so many questions. Light, dark, midtone? Is your room facing north, south, east or west? Blue greens are cool in nature, so they typically work best in south facing rooms where the light is warmer. If you're painting a north facing room with less natural light, you want your paint to be a bit more colorful and saturated. There's so many variables. Here are some. See if you like them. I'll use SW as Sherwin Williams and BM as Benjamin Moore. Sea Salt by SW. Silver Marlin by BM. Gray Cashmere by BM. Mount Saint Anne by BM. Rainwashed by SW. Gibraltar Cliffs by BM. Earl Gray by SW. Woodland Blue by BM. These are all blue-greens with varying LRV's and undertone intensity. Make sure to put them on the walls as a test before making your final decision. And remember.....GO FOR IT!!!!!!
Why is it tough? I was wanting to paint my room in Black Evergreen by Behr, a very dark green. I was going to paint everything including the ceiling, trim, walls and doors in my master bedroom. I want it dark and moody in there. But it's a very deep color and was wondering if you could explain what you meant. Thank you.
James, pls help me understand this: ● Aren't ALL green-hued paints, part blue + part yellow?? Aren't both hues always necessary to MAKE green? How could "Contented" be "a transitional color, because it's part yellow & part blue" -- as if that's any different from every green. ? (based on you, saying that, in this, video. lol, thx!!)
@@thepaintpeople , I think it's more a mahogany? Did they already have one named that? Anywho, going back to bed. Have 45 minutes before the neighbour wakes me up again 😞.
@@annesmith6582 Green, as a color, is beautiful, I agree. It is a fad when it is used as paint indoors, in my opinion. Nature, except for plants, should stay outside! To each his own! Paint your whole house green!!!
Yay! Contented is the perfect accent color for my Creamy living room and kitchen. I really like it. Thanks James!
Happy to help Kay!

I painted my kitchen with the contented color and I absolutely LOVE it!!!

It is indeed....liveable!!!

I have this in my powder room and I love it! It’s comfortable, I used Navy Blue accessories with it!
Thanks for the review Denise!
I did these exact colours and it was beautiful. I think my colour was called light olive grey. I did this back in 1984...lol
I REALLY LIKE CONTENDED. MY WALLS ARE GREEN WOULD THIS BE A GOOD BATHROOM COLOUR?
Totally!
Purple

Evergreen fog (I know, it's hyped up, but) interacts really well with contented, too.

I love this color!! I might paint the wall in my laundry area this color. Thanks for the tip dude!
You got it! :)
I am debating between SW Sagey or SW Celery or maybe something in between. For a large living room with north and south facing windows.
Ben Moore's Vintage Pewter looks like an interesting colour. Does it lean towards green?

I like these. I’ll be looking into using them.
Let us know how it goes!
I need blues to work with all the gorgeous sage, teal, lime, greens and crown of the pines in our backyard.
I actually think blue and green can work together in a variety of ways.

I hear that Paul. I do tend to favor greens that aren't too saturated and grounded with a grey or a brown.
