    I love tearing down the magnatron for the magnets and copper. I don't have room to store steel so I just open the end where the transformer and magnatron are and take them and the motor are. I also take the copper under the plate. I give all my steel to a fellow scrapper. I use my angle grinder to just cut the copper out. My yard takes the brackets on the fan as cast aluminum.

    It is very easy to dismantle a transformer specially when you have a power tools but i can do it manually but of course it is very hard. Even though it will takes time doing that its always worth in terms of cost when you compare to others who are also scrapping but just turn that only as is where is into the junk yard. thats why i really admire scrappers like you, thubprint,grandpa,e-waste,Mike the scavenger cause all of you are doing same.

    the way of scrapping like project shop fl is also admirable because of the techniques he is using in his shop. i suggest you watch also his channel so that you will have an idea what he is doing. thanks. I am not promoting his channel but i found out that interesting.

      Thank you I am familiar with his channel to me he is more of a scrap yard because he buys everything he gets and tears it down I'm more of a fan of the natural scrappers people that go out find it. But that's the beauty of UA-cam there's something for everybody.

    Hi from the U K ,please don't handle the Capacitor, until you discharge it first by using insulated pliers ,before you start dismantling any other part .They can hold a charge if they have been plugged in recently .

      Thank you for the advice it was sitting in my truck over a week. Even when I test them I put them on my side yard before tearing them down for quite a while due to the capacitor. I'd rather let the energy die down on its own.

    Hey buddy. I seen scrappers tape the cylinder so they don't break and cause the cancer part.

    Jacob, is there any problem with radiation leakage if your thinking of selling?

    • @1scraplife
      @1scraplife  10 місяців тому

      No not at all. I know microwaves use radiation to cook food but it's a different type of radiation than like x-rays this type of radiation could heat the skin but not do any other type of damage but it is made through the process of the components in the microwave the part that gives cancer is actually because of chemicals mixed into the component. That is what gives it the pink color as far as I understand the white ones do not give cancer but I would not take the risk.

      If you were talking about the one that was sitting on the tailgate it is a drill Master 6-in cut-off saw from harbor freight they're like $20

    • @1scraplife
      @1scraplife  10 місяців тому +2

      Please explain what you mean so I could properly answer your question there was a Christmas turn in yesterday a Christmas turn in the day before that which is when I said there would be a lot more to come. And I never make a promise I don't keep so I'm not sure what you mean by that.

    How do you dispose of the cancer causing ends

    • @1scraplife
      @1scraplife  10 місяців тому +1

      We put them in a 5 gallon bucket until it's filled then we close the top tape it off and drop it off at the hazardous place at the Orange county landfill
