I consistently see 3K single hits on planes with massive AA fire when planes are approaching, and then you can activate the priority sector on the other side when they come back around for another 3K dmg, it's glorious! (This is on grozovoi)
It's useless against competent CV players, and this Shokaku/Ranger are not good CV players. Kidd AA DPS is not what it used to and you can deal with her flak and continuous DPS very easily

I played against 2 grozovoi who were taking turns in using their AA consumable and when a wall of black flak just suddenly appears Infront of your planes, there is nothing you can do. When you come across that, this is what that build is. Massive AA fire.

@@thabombaa9055 well on grozovoi without massive AA fire you sometimes get 3K plane damage when the planes approach. With massive AA fire (and aft, AA module 1 & 2) consistently hit 3K damage when planes approach and when they come back around, another 3K damage. Awesome skill

Normally when I see an AA build DD, i just tell my team that he's free food for them. No point in sending my planes to what is essentially a mini meat grinder
Mine for grozovoi is: 1 point slots: incoming fire alert 2 point slots: the mandatory 2 point skill for DDs (last stand), adrenaline rush(optional) 3 point slots: Super Intendant, the skill that increases fire chance (forgot what it's called... I think it's demolition expert?) 4 point slots: AFT (Advanced Firing training), Massive AA fire Used the AA module instead of increased reload rate and the other AA module that doubles flak. It produces similar results as this!
Ironically this is a superb demonstration about how useless AA is given that after shooting down over 70 planes of 2 completely potato CVs they're still able to launch full strength squadrons.

AA builds nowadays are completely worthless, offering completely negligible returns for their massive cost. Oh btw, these were the official reasons WG gave us.
Doesn't each plane kill result in exp equal to dealing 2.5% ship damage to the cv tier? Also AA helps prevent a single squadron from dealing it's full damage. It's going to take a lot longer for a cv to kill you if they only get 1 or 2 strikes off instead of getting all or most strikes off. Really my only issue with AA atm is that their should be something sort of simular to the old scramble effect of def AA so it will be a choice that can actually rival hydro.

And yes, the AA focus change may now prevent squads from using all their ordinance but ironically that has only brought reworked CV damage potential IN LINE with RTS CVs. Aside from that it doesn't change at all that plane losses are completely negligible with current AA strength and reserve size over time.
@@Inferno083 I'll give you two examples with my ryujou. One were I am attacking a kongo and the other were I am attack a massa. Against a kongo I can use my entire squad and probably get 3 torp attacks off. Which depending on the players ability to dodge might result in a quarter or half of his hp lost. If I am focusing the kongo I can probably sink it in between 5-10 minutes (less if he can't dodge, more if he is great at it though to less effect as it will be harder to dodge subsequent attacks.) If I am attacking Massa I will only be able to do one attack against it. This means that it will probably take 3x the time to sink massa. (I know that there is a health difference so for this sake I assume that massa got citadeled early and is now around kongo hp. So depending on the dodging ability of Massa it will mean I will either spend the entire game focusing him or he will survive the game. So the ability to shoot down subsequent attacks is useful. On a side note I think that def aa needs some kind reticle aiming effect (like the old scrambling) as in it's current state it does not rival hydro in utility.

USE YOUR DAMN GUNS MORE.... for god's sake. Drop random torps into groups or blind corners. Turn ur AA off and wait till they detect you so they have to fly thru ur flak twice if they want to strike. So many missed oppurtunities here. Was this just for the memes? Luckily the team knew what they were doing.
Imagine having both of your carriers chasing the DD for the entire match only to not kill him and collectively lose 100 planes to him.

It's useless against competent CV players, and this Shokaku/Ranger are not good CV players. Kidd AA DPS is not what it used to and you can deal with her flak and continuous DPS very easily

I've used without massive AA fire and used with massive AA fire and there's a big difference on DDs. Massive AA fire is significantly better!
