    I just changed repeaters and had to re-set up my printer. The asterisk key changes case! Who knew. This drove me nuts!

    I just moved to a new place. Your video really helped me to connect the printer with the wifi. Thank you 🙏🏼 do I have to follow the steps and install the drivers again? I did download the drivers earlier in my previous address.

      Hi! If your printer and your computer are on the same network and the drivers are already installed, your computer should readily see your printer and be able to work with it. If that's not what's happening, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers may help.

    Why does the printer not wake up from sleep mode when sending a file to print , I have to turn the printer power off and on for it to print. I even had Canon walk me through the set up process . Can any one help?

    Is this not compatible with a google OS chromebook? No drivers are available. When i connect the printer to my chromebook , its not recognized.

      Hi! Your imageCLASS printer is designed to use just one connection type at a time. If you would prefer to use a USB connection, doing so will disable a wireless connection.

    Yeah so downloaded the software from the website - got the printer onto my wifi. The software can never find the printer and the manual USB connection doesn't work either. Junk.

    The wifi never prints unless I turn the printer off and then back on. So I hooked up directly with a usb cable. That is more reliable but sometimes I have to restart the computer a couple of times. Its been like this ever since I bought the printer. I have emailed Canon and they could care less. Hopefully this will work for my Mf264dw hooked up with a usb cable to win11. Its been real flaky printing over the usb cable. So I tried a new usb cable and then that didn't work so I thought maybe it needs a driver update but installing with the usb cable doesn't work the screen just gets stuck at waiting for me to plug in the printer. But its already plugged in and unplugging it and then back in doesn't do anything. Maybe I can do this over wifi.

      @@CanonUSA I have had this printer for over a year now and I found out that I can't have my computer set up with wired and wireless at the same time. The printer only works wired. When I also had wireless setup on the computer it seems to get confused. Plus the wireless never really works because it goes into Energy Saver mode and it doesn't wake up to print unless I manually turn the printer off and back on. I originally set up the printer wirelessly. This didn't work because it would go into Energy Saver mode. So I took the printer into the office and set up a wired connection. But the printer didn't work reliably. So today I removed the wireless print option and after my win11 computer started the printer printed my shipping label.

    Can’t the Hotspot connection work for laptop as it does for a mobile phone ?

    I hate this printer and will be returning it and will never buy another canon! The instructions did not work. Printing from my printer should NOT be this frustrating. Absolutely ridiculous!!!

      I have had problems with my printer too. I emailed Canon which was as difficult as possible and after a few days all they did was send me some canned stuff that I already tried searching on Google and here I am a year later searching on UA-cam to still try to get this printer to work reliably. I guess I am a fool. Win 11 has been out for some time and all they have is win 10 drivers?

      Hi! If you're referring to WPA-PSK and WPS, many wireless routers offer one or both of these features to make connecting new devices easy. We recommend checking your router's manual to see whether it offers either of these features, and if it does, you'll find information on how to use that feature to get your imageCLASS printer connected in your printer's manual. You can also call our imageCLASS support team for guidance at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666). They're available Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
