I just bought the D9S Pro specifically to do an EVAP test on several cars. I could not figure out how to find or do the test. After several days of contacting XTool I was finally informed that it won’t run the EVAP test any of these cars. So I thought I’d exchange it with them for one that will do the test and they informed me none of their scanners will do it. That is pretty pathetic considering EVAP codes are probably the highest fault on all American made cars. Pretty disappointed at this point and I’m probably going to return the scanner and go with someone else.
What year make and model are you working on? Many tests are not limited by the scan tool itself but by the car, meaning if the xtool won't do it then more than likely no scan tool will.
@@737mechanic the one I’m working on right now is a 2020 Ford F250 7.3L. I would have to think it is possible to do this on this truck. Thanks for your response!
@@737mechanic yes I did and couldn’t find it. That’s why I spent two days trying to contact XTool and they finally told me it won’t do it. Have you found the EVAP test for any other vehicles?

Great review on this scan tool update
This feature looks really cool. I would love to test some of their tablet style scan tools. Just need them to contact me.
Thanks I’m use it more
I have the D7W. I didn't notice this feature just yesterday. I wonder if it's only in the higher end tools.
It may only be on the D8 and D9 scanners.
@@737mechanic i have the d8s and nothing
@@ernestoperez4891 So the D8S doesn't have this feature?

@@1957cajun Have you went into special functions and active test of the engine control and see if there is an option for evap?

@@1957cajun Yes most vehicles have an EVAP test of some sort even if it is simply being able to actuate the puge valve and vent valve.
