I remember watching this every Sunday morning on KTVU channel 2 in the San Francisco Bay Area. By the way, thanks for leaving in the commercials. Sweet memories. I was eight years of age going on nine.
I will never get that comic strip theme song out of my head. Never ever. I haven’t watched it since I was a kid but I still knew every word.❤️ Camp mini-mom was my favorite.
I remember the Comic Strip. I'm glad someone else does too. Each time I asked someone if they remembered, they had no idea what I was talking about. Thank you for this throw back. Great memories!
I remember having to watch through two episodes tiger sharks and mini monsters first to get to my favorite shows street frogs and karate kat which were shown last in the rotation
I wished that TigerSharks have been released onto complete DVD collection too just like Thundercats and Silverhawks because it deserved to be remembered as well.
Yeah if Tigersharks, Laser Tag Academy, Dumbo Circus, Welcome to Pooh Corner and Muppet Babies got a DVD Release I would be the Most Happiest Man Alive
This might explain why the other version of the intro has never been posted online. Depending on the station, it seems the show either aired on weekdays, or in one big block on the weekend. For the version that aired on weekdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays had the same theme songs, but different visuals to accompany the theme song. I guess the weekend block just used the Monday-Wednesday-Friday version of the intro.
This show used to air on Sunday evenings at five thirty here in Chicago! I used to watch it every week, but Tiger Sharks is the only one that I really remember.
You gotta be talking about this one in particular because WPWR aired this show on weekday afternoons (I was excited to see it when first arriving home from school on a regular).
The Comic Strip was the final string of Cartoons to be produced by Rankin Bass. They shut their doors that December. At least they went out with a bang!
Wendell watched too much tv and got lost in the commercials. The other bakers are last shown being upset with Wendell for not baking the cereal with them
I seem to remember catching some of this on KCOP 13 in Los Angeles back in the day on Sunday mornings. Interestingly, I mainly remembered Karate Kat and its opening jingle. And a quick search yielded this result. Was this an original taping with commercials, or were those added? Either way, thank you for this trip down memory lane while watching on an actual Sunday morning to boot.
THESE ARE REAL CARTOONS, not the crap with woke messages, that some sick people force to include in nowadays shows for kids 😒😡These are cartoons that have a special place on my heart, so they were from my childhood! THANK YOU FOR THAT! All toons were awesome, but my favorites: Tiger Sharks and Street Frogs ❤👌
Wow this show and these ads. I was there for them all! HBO Max needs to make new versions. Who can do Hip Hop better than a frog can!? STREET FROGS! 33:45
Interestingly, Fox 31 in Denver Colorado, I'm positive had this show on Weekday mornings.. Either that, or on Saturdays before Fox kids came along. Anyone got correct info on that?
@@MoneMedia Well Street Frogs was bad (but most attempts to capture black culture by non blacks are) but Tiger Sharks is pretty good. Camp Mini Mon decent and Karate Kat was a lot of fun (mixing martial arts and detective noir in one show)

@@deaddan2148 your welcome
Geeze! I haven't seen "Street Frogs" literally since 1987. It's such an obscure cartoon I almost thought I had imagined it.
My childhood had awesome cartoon shows and I loved the Comic Strip theme music.
80s and 90s cartoons had the best themes!
I think I remember The Comic Strip. It's full of adventure, comedy, action and music.
I absolve this channel I play these on saturday mornings and it still feels good haha!!!

In the evening? I remember around 6 in the morning before church and such.
The Cinnamon Toast Crunch bakers are iconic. Then, for some strange reason, Wendell became the only star.
Yeah, happened around 1993-1995 if I remember correctly. I was low-key peeved by it and still am. They've dumbed down almost all mascots since then.
He rubbed the right elbows of the right producers to get all the spotlight
Wendell watched too much tv and got lost in the commercials. The other bakers are last shown being upset with Wendell for not baking the cereal with them
Do we even know who voiced the bakers in the commercial?
Thanks for posting. I remember being puzzled about that back then at 11 or 12 years old.

DJ Kat Show (UK) showed this in the 90s!
Ah, memories...
tiger sharks, wished they put these on dvd sets
I didn't think of it as a rip off of thundercats, more like an improved version
Thank you!

Yup. Same company that produced them and SilverHawks (Thundercats in outer space)
same timeline shockingly also as silverhawks and thundercats so yes
Do you have any more of the comic strip? If you do let me know.
So Karate Kat was smarter than Hong Kong Phooey. Lol
Nostalgia.
