Figure I have watched well over 30 of your videos so far. Respect. Not just having an old man's knowledge of the outdoors, you have a professional eye with your videography and editing. But the way you just let us come along with you (rather than this being a showcase of your ego) is the facet that keeps me clicking your videos. I knew just how that fish tasted. Thanks.
Great job Catman now I have to go to the kitchen and make something to eat with my eyes closed while pretending I'm standing next to a beautiful stream listening to the wonders of nature
Nothing like fresh caught wild fish straight from the water to the skillet. Years ago we would do that while sucker gigging in the winter. My uncle had the fish cooker fired up getting the grease hot as we were cleaning them and we ate like kings. Love these kind of videos!
This is the best catch and cook video man I absolutely love your content I’m currently deployed overseas and this has helped me so much watching your content
Catman, that creek bank looks like a Morel Mushroom infested paradise. I hope to see a Morel catch and cook in the near future sir. I don't know about your area, but the weather is looking fantastic for Morels this year. Love the content sir!
Another great video Catman, I think you and the hunt public are the best hunting and outdoors channel's on UA-cam you boys are so skilled for your age... happy hunting and fishing.
You are absolutely right regarding the catch and release practice in our beautiful Tennessee streams. I remember catching good numbers of smallmouth bass, rock bass, and spotted bass in some creeks I fished in the past 30 years, and in many creeks the fish just aren't there anymore due to over-harvesting. These are micro-habitats that require a different approach to fishing than lakes and big rivers. Great video, I truly enjoyed it.
I've been a fan for a long time catman, that was one of your best produced videos yet. Still don't know why you don't have a million subs. You deserve it. Thanks for keeping us entertained.
Excellent video and you’re right about chef Paul’s blackened redfish magic. I ordered that after you suggested it last year and it’s the best, no more McCormicks in my house
You out did yourself on this one. I know the water and air were as clean as they looked. I've done a few shore lunches myself and that looked like it was REAL good !!! Thanks for sharing.
Looks delicious!!! Thank God someone on UA-cam finally did a bass catch clean cook. Lol. It’s been frowned upon long enough. They are delicious but like you said eat them sparingly.
Luke LaMotte if you watch other channels at all you’ll quickly see they do them aswell and about as often as catman tho I enjoy his far more they are out there tho
Sore Lip City I watch a lot of UA-cam and I have yet to see a bass catch and cook. But with that said I have not went looking for them either. But definitely tons and tons of catch and cooks on UA-cam.
Luke LaMotte Fowelers makery and mistchief, wooded beardsman, ap bassin, flair, and prob 5 others if I remember them lol but those are a few you can check out if you’d like.
What an awesome video brother you remind me of why I always find myself falling back to the Tranquility of Nature and the woods to see you catch that fish clean it and cook it and prepare other Foods along with it I think you were born a hundred and fifty years too late brother you are definitely a Pioneer man God bless you Cat man and from South Carolina brother we will be watching
Awesome video Catman! Never tried smallmouth before but I think I will after watching this. On a side note- I was always taught to only put hot water on cast iron right after cooking. I understand you did it to cool it down so you could eat off it (don’t blame you haha) but the iron may crack going from heat to cool water
Thanks man, now I'm hungry! I used to do that all the time on a stream like that in Missouri. Float for a week, camp, fish and eat good food! May have had a few beer along the way!
Nothing wrong with taking a little bit.. that is a lost art.. good video my friend.. I have a cousin that lives next to Percy priest on Anderson Rd in Nashville or maybe Antioch.. He catches those fish and loves it...
Scott W. Here in NC mountains we have big small mouth but the girth is where they get us up north ,, our 24 inch smallies will most of the time weigh 5 pounds but up there 6 or 7
@@bobbygreen2291 yeah, I've seen some big boys. My son caught a 2' smallmouth that was huge in northern Minnesota. I've only seen a couple of largemouth that big
Scott W. Yep I’ve watched them catch em up there Al lindler and others and the girth of those northern strain is mind blowing to us down here we do have something bigger down here ,,ruffed grouse are much bigger down here with an average weight of one pound and ten ounces
That looked like fun. It cracks me up though that you brought a spatula, seasoning, butter and a cast iron griddle but no cutting board or fork. Not that you needed them but it was funny none the less.
Awesome and those were some really nice smallmouth water just a little to cold here in Ohio but won't be long just love your videos can't wait for the next one stay safe.
I absolutely enjoyed watching this video! The camera angles of the stream in the background! I'm sitting here drinking my morning coffee and you made me really hungry with that amazing creekside meal! Thanks for sharing your adventures Catman!
I know you have some hunting videos where you hunt with other people, but seems like most of your videos are solo/by yourself. You should take someone with you (maybe less fortunate or someone just starting out) and expose them to this side of life. Could really be a life changer for someone. Something about being able to go outdoors and do what you do seems to open up a whole new attitude in people. I'm an outdoorsman and I'd rather spend a day in nature hunting and fishing than going to any mall or public event. Great video!!!
Cat man it takes at least 12 years to grow a 18 inch small mouth ,, I do the same as you have one meal a year and put the rest back , but you are right , they are very good eating ,,,if you would have had a fresh lemon to squeeze on that fish I believe I would have clawed a hole in my screen ,, good show , I loved it.
Thanks.
That look on your face after you take a sip of coffee looking out over the creek says it all...good livin’ right there
Jeremiah Johnson reincarnated!!! Great video Cat, you make us Tennessee boys proud!
Now that was a gourmet dinner with a scenic view.
Great job Catman now I have to go to the kitchen and make something to eat with my eyes closed while pretending I'm standing next to a beautiful stream listening to the wonders of nature
Makes me thankful I moved to Tennessee last year! Been here a year now and I can truly say, I'm home! Thanks for always representing TN well!!
I honestly have no clue how you don’t have over 1 mil subs you are one of the better you tubers that are on this platform and are a great influencer
Reminds me of my home river. North Fork Holston. Has that smaller foot print / Appalachian mountain flow. Cool video.
That’s some nice ones! I liked the underwater footage
Nothing like fresh caught wild fish straight from the water to the skillet. Years ago we would do that while sucker gigging in the winter. My uncle had the fish cooker fired up getting the grease hot as we were cleaning them and we ate like kings. Love these kind of videos!
Catman videos are in a class by themselves. No one does it better. Awesome job Catman.
This is the best catch and cook video man I absolutely love your content I’m currently deployed overseas and this has helped me so much watching your content
Mmm...nothing like fresh cooked fish by the river!
Catman, that creek bank looks like a Morel Mushroom infested paradise. I hope to see a Morel catch and cook in the near future sir. I don't know about your area, but the weather is looking fantastic for Morels this year. Love the content sir!
Here in Northern Michigan, there in abundance. And nothing taste better. 🎣🎣
I love these catch and cook vids, especially when you cook them by the water
Another great video Catman, I think you and the hunt public are the best hunting and outdoors channel's on UA-cam you boys are so skilled for your age... happy hunting and fishing.

It doesn’t get much better than this!
Weirdly enough this may be my favorite episode - I’ve watched em all. Simple and purposeful for all the right reasons

You simply amaze me with your out door skills, you have every thing ready for the feast, thanks again for bring back memories of my past.
"Everything"? Beautiful griddle and basic restaurant quality turner but no fork.
Can't beat that Paul Prudhomme, got some in the cabinet, time to dig it out. Nice to grill outside so you can get it real hot, it smokes the house up.
Blackening is definitely an outdoor type of cooking!
Great! Now I’m craving some Smallmouth fillets! 😅 I totally enjoyed this video bro! Great job!
👍 very nice simplicity at its finest
I'm really impressed with the quality of your videos. I think I'm going to try this with pan fish instead of deep frying.
Thanks for all the great videos. I really look forward to seeing what's next
You are the man, Catman! Great video
Hey bud....looks so good absolutely loved it....one tip for you hot cast iron in cold water will usually break ...you got lucky there

Perfect fishing video best video to date in my opinion
I first saw Black's seasoning when I bow hunted Illinois. Have used it ever since in a number of recipes. It's the best and made by good people.

Best catch, clean, and cook I have seen by far. The view was amazing! But the food looked delicious!
Those are big Smallies for Tennessee. Usually find em that size up closer to Wisconsin and Minnesnowta.
