I know at least that the spark plug is different, so I assume that some other parts are too. Certainly the oil for us here in Australia won't have to cope with sub zero temperatures. If you ever do a carbie service on it I'd love to see that. I've never been what you would call practical, or spent much time around motors, so pointers are coming in very handy. cheers mate and thanks again
A friend told me the exhaust on the Honda came out the back of the engine. Does it come out the square port spot on the foot? I've got a 2.5hp Yamaha & 6hp - both 2010 with almost no hours on them. They've been hard to start and problematic from day one. Clean carbs- new spark plug -getting gas- has spark and they won't stay running. I'm ready to throw both of them off of a bridge. Rant over, laf.

Got a question about the honda four 2 if you can dismatle the propellers?

My centrifugal clutch that is on the 2.3 sizes occasionally and the propeller won't turn,,do u need too lubricate the clutch or is it inadvisable?
Correction on my first message, is it possible to dismantle the shaft and not the propeller.
Ever have a honda 2 hp where the prop doesn't really spin but u can hear some gears winding on the top of the shaft
Your shear pin is probably broken. There should be a replacement near the bottom of your handle. If not go buy a few, they are cheap.
Nice work. Honda, Yamaha, they are great engines. What kind of outboard is the old engine?

Mine has driven me mad and I'm not the only one who's had starting issues with this model, bloody shite things.
They are pretty cheaply made compared to my yamaha outboard surpsingly
So that's a old sportsmen or Yamaha rebrand 😊
