Congratulations on the beautiful work, but honestly the idea of a magnet to hold the knife was sensational 👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
From my understanding a 1” board is referred as a 5 quarter board because you pay for the material that was lost when the board got planed. Hope that helps.
Pretty slick!!!
Real nice workmanship.
What an amazing idea! Fantastic piece 👏 😁💙
Brilliant
Brilliant Villy and the magnets are a fantastic idea.
Take care Villy.
Cheers, Huw
The board is beautiful and the magnets are a great idea.
You are very practical and objective, congratulations on the excellent work and the richness of all the details.
That's beautiful man! It looks like a wooden road with a crosswalk! If I was a street vendor, I would definitely buy that!
It’s a beautiful board thanks for watching
Fab design, I looooooove the colour, thx for showing

Very nice. Are the magnets strong enough to catch the knife if you accidentally push the knife off the board?
Y’a they are very strong 💪🏼

I made a paduk cutting board and found that the color bleeds. Anyone else have this issue? If so, how did you address it?
Having the same issue with a cutting board I made from maple and padauk. Just today put the 2nd coat of tung oil on it. Not sure if that will resolve the issue or not. Did you find a way?
@@mikegrier2829 never did. More coats didn't help.
Thanks. If I discover anything I’ll reply again. Not feeling very hopeful. It’s a shame, though. It’s a beautiful wood.
Two bleeding problems here. Padauk bled into the Maple. Not a huge issue. A bigger concern is it bleeds onto try towels when wiping.
I’m on my third coat of Howard’s butcher block conditioner. Assume this is fine dust that will eventually go away?
What color did that buffing wheel end up?!?!
Any insight is appreciated.
Dude... expose ONLY enough blade to cutting the material you are working with. People have lost a hand or fingers due to this lack of safety.
No measurements in the links no good
When it comes to a non renewable resource of a tree/wood that is in short supply, not the highest and best use.
While this may be good workmanship, ( not my opinion ) sadly a "look at me, look at me" trinket for the unknowing, uncaring.
An unnecessary showpiece that will turn brown over time and bleed.
It is my opinion that the wood could have gone to better purpose.
This is a renewable resource
@@adamstatham4967 Ignorance is bliss.
Full disclosure:
In a previous life I brokered/hustled rare and exotic wood specifically for instrument makers.
@@jeffhildreth9244 You're anecdote doesn't change the facts. Stay blissful!

Not an anecdote, look it up. That was a statement of fact and not a "light" story.
I am fortunate that I saved a stash of Padauk.. the good stuff, dating back to 1982.
Yes, I hoard wood, have been since 1964.
You have NO facts. Your response is one of ignorance and irrelevant.
Please expound on your knowledge, utility, and source of padauk. And , define renewable.. you mean fast growing
substitutes that are grossly inferior such as " Indian Rosewood" now grown in rubber plantations?
While you're at it.. tell us all about the best padauk now no longer available due to over harvesting. Not renewable..
it's gone due to greed and .. ignorance.
You seem to need attention so you can have the last word.
