Thanks for putting out a great and detailed video about this series of Taylors. I can’t wait to get my hands on an AD27.
Sounds pretty awesome! Love that brown bound tele hanging behind you too!
Empire is the best - large retailers quoting mid July delivery- empire does it again
I am so sick of people putting down Taylor's. They are fine made guitars and durable too. I understand the bright sounding argument, but not every Taylor sounds bright. I love Martin's too, but Taylor's hold their own. I just appreciate the craftsmanship of all well made guitars. Don't be a guitar snob or a snob in any genre. There seems to be a snob for everything whether it be metal detectors, baseball bats, etc... You name it there are snobs in any field.
I just got my first Taylor. It’s a custom GC. Looking at it I was wondering why the neck looked bolted on. Long story short I bought it anyway and then watched a Taylor factory tour and found out why the bolt on neck is such a great advancement. I was always sold on dovetail joints. All my other guitars are dovetail jointed. Now I’m totally in love with the Taylor neck design. It makes so much sense. The sound is amazing too. I love my Taylor guitar. I’m a Taylor guy now for sure.
Sounds beautiful
Maybe you could do a comparison with a 517e &/or 717e (builders edition). The builders Edition might not be fair. But this sounds great.
Can u guys do the mahagony one the ad27e?? Or 27 pleasee
We had that one 6 months ago too
Will they have a Taylor AD with a cutaway. I will buy it if they do
Martin D16e rosewood or Taylor Ad17e?
Great video!
What kind of neck profile does this guitar have? I hear a lot about compound carve profiles and what have you on the more expensive Taylor models, but I can't find anything specific on this AD model.
How about an AD17 vs a 317?
So I can get a GA4 (414) second hand, same woods for the top and body, Grand Auditorium instead of this larger Grand Pacific, and half the price of this. I believe also USA made? Although doesn't really matter to me where these are made. I guess to some people who think only American hands (ironic as they are mostly people from other countries, such as Mexico, who work in the American factories) are capable of being skilled workers it does... So please give me a reason to buy this American Dream instead? Serious question by the way. And I'm not sold on V-bracing, and it definitely isn't worth double the price just for that.
i think your rite...go buy the 414...bahahahahah
I’d love if you would compare the sound of these to all the other Grand Pacific guitars. Is this one a more mellow sound? I am a Taylor player without a dreadnaught guitar. I’m looking for the fullest and most mellow tone, less jangly brightness. Which Grand Pacific fits that bill? Based on your videos, this one seems to have more of the sound I’m 👀 for than the Builder’s Edition GP.
Gibson G-45 !! An all solid American made acoustic.
So is this.
Des Kodur Great for firewood.
Right for cheaper I would rather go gibson
$1599? That's $400 less than the 317e. It looks like it's the same thing, I guess, with slighly different woods besides the spruce top.
no gloss finish. no binding etc. less labor input over all. I am excited about the satin finish which is even thinner than the latest gloss that is 2.5mil ovankol is what the 400 series is and they were more expensive than the 300s. Over the years when I played a satin or even varnished finished guitar they seemed more lively and even louder. really interested in trying one of these out. Love my 814ce but one of these could be a nice take out of the house more often guitar with out worrying about dinging up the higher end model I have.
the high E string is buzzing
It’s probably more the player than the guitar
I'm weird when it comes to acoustic guitars. If you can plug it in it's not an acoustic. That's just my opinion. You can get one of these without the electronics but it's not exactly the sound I'm looking for.
All Taylors are available without a pickup. Most of the guitar buying public want them, but Taylor makes everything without also - especially the GP.
@@gabrielobrien21 Thanks. Yea I've been playing my same electric guitars for years but I'm always switching out my acoustic. I keep my guild m20 that I'm happy with but I also want one thats brighter and louder but doesnt cost me 2 to 3 grand. I will probably never find that lol.
I worried he would drop the guitar
This headstock doesn't fit the guitar
Yeah but they’re still subsituting material to hit that price point
No way this guitar is as good as rose a wood guitar.....this is just a cost cutting guitar for Taylor.....because of the lack of rosewood on the global stage. At higher volume hard strumming you can hear the lack of a thumbing bottom end..and more of trembling weaker sound. The black has an aesthetic appeal...but I think Taylor copied the Fender New Porter Special....with thin matte black finnish and natural wood binding.
Can't stand taylors! Larrivee all the way!
