Good suggestions. Any idea if the Armani Prive Encens Satin or their Bois d'Encens is more "churchy?" I want to buy a 5ML to test one of them out but am too frugal to buy both. The more resinous and churchy the better.
Great list! I am Orthodox and I just love incense in perfumes. My favorite is Mon Numero 10 by L'Artisan Parfumeur. I do think it is churchy but for me it has a very festive vibe, like a visit to a church during some holidays (perhaps Easter)

Lot's a great fragrances and I've noticed both of you learn more towards the incense & pine types. Regardless, just a few thoughts: - Avignon is a terrific but a little to light to be one of my favorites. I've never tried Zagorsk, but I hope to soon. - Laudano Nero is a fantastic (ballsy) fragrance...but it never struck me as being an incense fragrance because it packs so many other fantastic beast mode accords. - Montale Full Incense and Interlude Man are on to-buy-list...as is Fille en Aiguilles. Here are some of my favorite incense fragrances that would be on my Top 20: (try 'em if you haven't already done so) -Tom Ford Sahara Noir (sexy, sandy-incense and a seductress) -Chantecaille Kalimantan (one of the sexiest fragrances I have ever smelled on les femmes...and I'll wear it around the house. Hello Sebastian and Dalya! I’m Christian orthodox born and raised in Greece . Religion here is big . You use frankeninsecne ( if I’m correct ) a lot . Usually in churches but Also older ladies burn that in there houses to cleanse it ! I’m in love with those smells combined with resins woods or burnt woods . Today I blind bought full incense by montale and I’m blown away . The only other fragrance I have from your list is black Afghano which I have bought over 8 times since 2014 . I have loads of perfumes but I realized that incense ones are my thing ! Which ones you recommend me similar to full incense by montale ??? I felt in love with that thing more than black Afghano but definitely two of my favorite fragrances ever ! Thanks in advance Sebastian

First! Incense! you hit me where I live. Frankincense and myrrh. Midnight mass at Christmas scent memory's from Christmas past. I am really into Interlude Man for the winter. I found a sweet myrrh but not much oregano. Loud, but I wear it for me and I love it. I am so glad you did this review and a very nice list. I do have a question.. not sure if this is the proper format to pose this question but since I kicked the big C my fragrance I've worn since 1997, angel by mugler smells like rotten fruit B.O. on me so I have been on a quest to find a new signature scent. I learned of the house of montale from you Sebastian and I love the full incense, patchouli leaves and Amber musk. But these are not the one. So my quest continues. I thought I would love black oud intense and on others I do, I love it. But not on me. My question is this, can chemo/radiation and/or menopause have long term effects on the way fragrance wears? I understand body chemistry is a key role in fragrance wear. But does it change the way I wear it or the way I smell it? I used to own UNUM “LAVS” which is, for me, THE quintessential incense. Ultimately, it made me feel so very sad, down and somehow leaden. “Avignon” however is MY incense. It isn’t particularly church-y for me, bit rather aromatic, fresh, edgy and modern.

Calling All Angels by April Aromatics is a glorious honeyed amber incense. Another incense, that's made close to San Fran. is Incense Pure by the Indie House Sonoma Scent Studios.
Sabastian, Another great compilation review as always. The only fragrance that I have from this list is the Montale Full Incense but I shall be seeking out several of the fragrances that were mentioned in this video ie. Incense Flash, Jovoy, and the Casbah!
I also rock the Casbah Great smell ! also Vary hard to find now days the original 2012 formula white sticker with the red lettering The reformulated version with black sticker SUCKS Nothing like the real vintage 2012 version

Ok , I looked up this video to see what fragrance had the scent of church incense.... thank you for this ! On a side note : I just combined Zoha Aroma fireplace with some pine fragrance oil and it's 100% unbelievable... try it

Great video. My favorite incense fragrance is Tom Ford’s Sahara Noir. Unfortunately it is discounted, but I was fortunate to get a bottle a few years ago before they all disappeared from retail.

I love to smell like an old church for some reason. So this list is really great. Avignon and Eau Sacree are my favourite perfumes. Especially Avignon I've been wearing for years (more affordable too). Zagorsk (and Kyoto) I don't like as much from that line. Since you mention several perfumes I know and love I've noted all others from your list to try out.

Sebastian, amazing video as always. I would have included Gucci Pour Homme 1 which is one of the great designer fragrance of all time although discontinued now.
My favorite incense perfume is Armani Si Le Parfum Eau de Parfum. Knocks my socks off good. The only other incense frags I own are Juicy Couture Royal Rose EDP (from their Regal line-entire line smells niche), and Juicy Couture Glistening Amber (again, one from the Regal line).
I picked up La Liturgie des Heures bc I couldn't find Casbah with the white label - love it. Then I found a decant of Casbah white label and I LOVE IT more than La Liturgie. I just ordered a bottle direct from the website, but it's the black label...hopefully it's the same - Dayla?
you HAVE to properly check out Miller Harris! Amazing gorgeous scents. see Vetiver Insolent, etui noir for leather, Lumiere dore is a 4711 with balls and bells plus so many others. La fumee is just a beauty! i have too many Miller Harris scents! one of my favourite houses. love your videos.
Sebastian, if you love Avignon, you definitely should check LAVS from UNUM. This stuff is amazing!!! Much better quality then Avignon, and for me best incense fragrance period!!!
I loved loved loved this video!! Your personalities work well together. I just adore incense fragrances so this was right up my alley. My newest obsession would be from the House of Matriarch Sacre Noir which reminds me of Midnight Mass. I would say it is churchy but green incense. It is piney with a touch of sweetness almost like a magical incense forest. So Christmas appropriate and I have been loving it since I received it end of November!! I just got a little obsessed with the thought of wearing a luscious incense fragrance. So, I ordered the Oriza L.Legrand Reve D'Ossian and Jovoy's La Liturgie des Heures. With regard to religion, I don't have a horse in that race. In fact my views are very heretical. However, I love burning resinous incense at home and outside in the evening on camping trips. I also ordered a sample of a fragrance I have never heard of by Alguien called Eau de Parfum eau de parfum. It was released this year in 2020. Here are the notes from Luckyscent: Brazilian Orange, Spanish Lemon, Bergamot Reggio Calabria & Tobacco, Bulgarian Lavender, Chinese Mint, Coriander, Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang, Neroli, Cloves, Guatemalan Cardamom, Haitian Vetyver, Incense, Indonesian Patchouly, Sandalwood Ceylan, Tolu Balsam and Amber I will let you know what I think of all three! Profumum Roma Olibanum is all about frankincense, oily and dense. Less churchy but more wearable the Durbano's Black Tourmaline and Rock Crystal, somehow dark and sinful. Mitzah by Dior is a intriguing accord between frankincense, amber and spices; pretty Christmassy.
Yes! Consider also to include in your next chart Heeley Eau Sacrée, a wonderful Catholic/Gothic church incense, an enhanced stronger upgrade to Cardinal. I bought this extrait de parfum at Jovoy in Paris. I love that boutique, the assistants are so nice and patient even for stubborn customers like me. Happy Christmas, Francesco.
Will the both of you do a repeat video soon, just like you did for patchouli 2 years afterwards? Full incense was worn 2 days ago as SOTD, so that's probably how this video showed up. First enjoyable Montale , probably for lack of aoud. Smells just like how I remember the Holy Mass to be in my youth when it was used occasionally (at Easter).
Funny how subjective perfumery is. #1 Casbah smelled like a pretty generic sweet incense to me. But these lists are great, there's always something new and interesting on the horizon.

Do you think that Oriza L. Legrand Reve D'Ossian is suitable for a man and for an office environment? I would love an incense perfume like in the Orthodox Church. If you remember how incense is used in the Orthodox Church, usually there is a powder on frankincense that gives a sweeter or a floral vibe to the incense (like in TT Ecstasy, where it feels a rosey touch).
It's kind of a sweet ambery incense so I don't know about it being appropriate for office setting. Depends on who works there I suppose. So I would advise you to try a sample to see. But you should also watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/TqDi2VqYEBI/v-deo.html
To me it doesn't. In direct comparison (both wrists): Casbah is more spice orientated and fairly medicinal with some incense in the back whereas Avignon is a full Catholic church incense with smoke and wood, more masculine too. Longevity and projection are on the low side however, after dry-down it sits close to the skin as is also the case for Ouarzazate and Jaisalmer. Minder weergeven BEANTWOORDEN

Sabastian, Another great compilation review as always. The only fragrance that I have from this list is the Montale Full Incense but I shall be seeking out several of the fragrances that were mentioned in this video ie. Incense Flash, Jovoy, and the Casbah!
I find the incense note in Terry de Gunzburg's 'Parti Pris' to be quite pronounced and it's a gorgeous perfume overall, very cleverly made

Amazing video and list. I need to try casbah and the entire Jovoy line. Some of my faves that didn’t make your list are olibanum by Profumum; Chantecaille Kalimantan; olympic orchids Dev 2; the other amouages lol (they are all so beautiful).

Great video. My favorite incense fragrance is Tom Ford’s Sahara Noir. Unfortunately it is discounted, but I was fortunate to get a bottle a few years ago before they all disappeared from retail.

I love to smell like an old church for some reason. So this list is really great. Avignon and Eau Sacree are my favourite perfumes. Especially Avignon I've been wearing for years (more affordable too). Zagorsk (and Kyoto) I don't like as much from that line. Since you mention several perfumes I know and love I've noted all others from your list to try out.

My favorite incense perfume is Armani Si Le Parfum Eau de Parfum. Knocks my socks off good. The only other incense frags I own are Juicy Couture Royal Rose EDP (from their Regal line-entire line smells niche), and Juicy Couture Glistening Amber (again, one from the Regal line).

I picked up La Liturgie des Heures bc I couldn't find Casbah with the white label - love it. Then I found a decant of Casbah white label and I LOVE IT more than La Liturgie. I just ordered a bottle direct from the website, but it's the black label...hopefully it's the same - Dayla?

you HAVE to properly check out Miller Harris! Amazing gorgeous scents. see Vetiver Insolent, etui noir for leather, Lumiere dore is a 4711 with balls and bells plus so many others. La fumee is just a beauty! i have too many Miller Harris scents! one of my favourite houses. love your videos.

Because of my strange skin chemistry, Drakkar Noir smelled funky/incense-y on me so I haven't tried any fragrance with incense notes since then.
I loved loved loved this video!! Your personalities work well together. I just adore incense fragrances so this was right up my alley. My newest obsession would be from the House of Matriarch Sacre Noir which reminds me of Midnight Mass. I would say it is churchy but green incense. It is piney with a touch of sweetness almost like a magical incense forest. So Christmas appropriate and I have been loving it since I received it end of November!! I am so excited! I ordered samples of two incense fragrances from Luckyscent after watching your reviews here in this video about 5 times. I just got a little obsessed with the thought of wearing a luscious incense fragrance. So, I ordered the Oriza L.Legrand Reve D'Ossian and Jovoy's La Liturgie des Heures. With regard to religion, I don't have a horse in that race. In fact my views are very heretical. However, I love burning resinous incense at home and outside in the evening on camping trips.
I also ordered a sample of a fragrance I have never heard of by Alguien called Eau de Parfum eau de parfum. It was released this year in 2020. Here are the notes from Luckyscent:
Brazilian Orange, Spanish Lemon, Bergamot Reggio Calabria & Tobacco, Bulgarian Lavender, Chinese Mint, Coriander, Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang, Neroli, Cloves, Guatemalan Cardamom, Haitian Vetyver, Incense, Indonesian Patchouly, Sandalwood Ceylan, Tolu Balsam and Amber

Profumum Roma Olibanum is all about frankincense, oily and dense. Less churchy but more wearable the Durbano's Black Tourmaline and Rock Crystal, somehow dark and sinful. Mitzah by Dior is a intriguing accord between frankincense, amber and spices; pretty Christmassy.

Yes! Consider also to include in your next chart Heeley Eau Sacrée, a wonderful Catholic/Gothic church incense, an enhanced stronger upgrade to Cardinal. I bought this extrait de parfum at Jovoy in Paris. I love that boutique, the assistants are so nice and patient even for stubborn customers like me. Happy Christmas, Francesco.

Will the both of you do a repeat video soon, just like you did for patchouli 2 years afterwards? Full incense was worn 2 days ago as SOTD, so that's probably how this video showed up. First enjoyable Montale , probably for lack of aoud. Smells just like how I remember the Holy Mass to be in my youth when it was used occasionally (at Easter).

Funny how subjective perfumery is. #1 Casbah smelled like a pretty generic sweet incense to me. But these lists are great, there's always something new and interesting on the horizon.

Do you think that Oriza L. Legrand Reve D'Ossian is suitable for a man and for an office environment? I would love an incense perfume like in the Orthodox Church. If you remember how incense is used in the Orthodox Church, usually there is a powder on frankincense that gives a sweeter or a floral vibe to the incense (like in TT Ecstasy, where it feels a rosey touch).
It's kind of a sweet ambery incense so I don't know about it being appropriate for office setting. Depends on who works there I suppose. So I would advise you to try a sample to see. But you should also watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/TqDi2VqYEBI/v-deo.html

Great video Sebastian. How does Avignon compares to Casbah? Are those similar fragrances? I really like Casbah
To me it doesn't.
In direct comparison (both wrists): Casbah is more spice orientated and fairly medicinal with some incense in the back whereas Avignon is a full Catholic church incense with smoke and wood, more masculine too. Longevity and projection are on the low side however, after dry-down it sits close to the skin as is also the case for Ouarzazate and Jaisalmer.
