I played historical Finland, it was a hard time cause I didn't get enough manpower nor divisions, so I "lost" the winter war (only give up karelia, petsamo, etc...). But the continuarion war was THE BIG DEAL, I was the first in both leningrad and moscow and we capitulated the Comintern.
Conclusion for all of you who are willing to play Finland: remember that you will be low manpower all of the game, so yoy have the option to go fascist or communist to get more manpower, but historical Finland has low mp.

Well, when I played Finland first time, I have went right path, got some troops of focuses and made some more and went to war with Sweden and won it (encircled half of Swedish army, I like to do such things), than took Denmark and Iceland and then Norway and reunited the north. Also I found out Britain had no fleet near me and only defended la-manche (if I rightly understand how zone between France and England is called) and some other random water so I naval-invaded the British and took it out pretty easily. Than Germany wiped out the France (also I've naval invaded it and managed to get to Paris and Brest first) and got a pretty nice peace deal where I got all the Scandinavia, Britain, British fleet and part of France. Then soviet union attacked me, I managed to defend and, using much mp and recourses I've got by conquering, I've managed to capitulate it even before Germany declared war on it (still I heavily risked at the end of the war, soviet union could encircle my divisions) and I got all the soviet union by myself. Still haven't played that run after soviets capitulated, pretty sure what have I done sounds extremely unrealistical.
@@user-fv5fq Yeah, I think that is common, cause I think that fascist focus gives you more manpower and expansion than historical Finland. So, the only problem I had in my game was the lack of manpower, cause I raped the soviets with only 30 troops, but that wasn't enough to defeat them or hold eternally.
So, I will try fascist path eventually cause it promises :)

You could also do the monarchist path, then Greater Finland. In order to get the Kingdom of Finland, you have to keep the first leader, who's name is Pehr Evind Svinhufvud in charge. After you complete the "New course for Kokoomus" focus with the first leader, you may unlock the secret "Finnish Throne" focus.

Fascist Finland is absolutely broken. If you're decently lucky enough to get all 3 cores of Norway, Sweden and Denmark (not even including the Baltics) you can absolutely EASILY destroy the Soviets and push to Moscow late 41. I tried doing it the first time and it was amazing. The Germans were quite annoying tho since I kept trying to cut them off to reduce their points yet try to give them a significant role to divert Soviet troops. My first run I managed to inflict a 18k to 2.4 mil ratio on the USSR before pushing all the way to Moscow which unfortunately made me suffer 1.2 mil casualties at the cost of another 2.1 mil to the Russians tho. Got a great 76% contribution and called it a day. This all without air, mobile units or special forces (didn't dare to get tactical on the first run).
I was playing non historical fascist so they invaded in 42' by then all my infantry were mountaineers (both land doctrines were full from a war with commie Iberia and commie Britain), I also had tanks that I barely used cause my infantry were so OP. With some air coverage micro and having done all the army buffs the war was over so fast I was basically sprinting straight to the Urals, this nation is so overpowered it makes Kaisserredux look balanced.
@@TheColdOnez Considering I was going for a pure infantry run and still absolutely melted the Soviets in a historical ironman I'd say Finland is pretty fucking broken. I had not a single plane in the air.
